On our way to the gulf today we found this little place that was highly recommended by others while looking for a good latte. We typed in the address and set off to find it. We found parking right around the corner, but it seems like we got lucky. The area is busy and almost all of the parking spots were taken. The front of the establishment doesn't stand out overly much, so we almost walked right by it. When you enter the building you walk straight back (through the entry that says this way to beignets!) and can order at the counter. The beignets were made fresh to order and covered in a mountain of powdered sugar. The latte was smooth and not too sweet. We got one order of 8 count mini beignets and two 16oz iced beignet lattes for $20.

Good beignets! I loved the sauce options for dipping. They are freshly made. The service was okay. It was a quiet and laid back spot with plenty of space for sitting with low music.

MO's Beignet - A Downtown Mobile Gem A charming little spot in Downtown Mobile, MO's Beignet is as cute on the inside as it is delicious. Full of that welcoming Southern charm, it offers beignets at a very reasonable price--just $6 for three standard-size pieces, with mini options available too. They come out hot and generously dusted with powdered sugar. The texture is a bit denser than the classic New Orleans beignet, but still tasty and satisfying. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Mobile and craving a sweet Southern treat!

Beignets are some of our favorite desserts and we always get them in New Orleans. We were excited to try this place on our trip to Mobile and we were not disappointed. They make excellent beignets here and I would say they are just as good as Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. We enjoyed trying the sauces with them as well, especially the cinnamon, which paired really well with the beignets. Service was good and there's plenty of tables and a sink to wash your hands, which is always nice when there's lots of powered sugar involved. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys beignets!

Been here so much and have loved every time! This is the only place in Mobile you can get a good beignet, and it never disappoints. So fluffy and their cinnamon syrup is a great addition to the sweet powdered sugar. Service is always so friendly, and the vibes are definitely more casual. Come after sports, during art walk, whenever really

This beignet shop is so cute with a nice and spacious seating area. The cashier was helpful with answering our questions. We ordered 3 beignets and they were delicious! Super light and fluffy with tons of powdered sugar. It was the perfect desert after our heavy meal

So amazing! My husband and I agree they are better than Cafe DuMonde in New Orleans! So fresh, much friendlier service, overall better experience.

It's kind of hard to make fried dough special, but Mo'Bay serves it up HOT with a hearty helping of powdered sugar and specialty syrups making it a nice afternoon treat!

Mo'bay Beignet was a lovely little spot!! We were walking around downtown Mobile and knew we wanted to try out some local foods and grab a bag of local coffee! We got coffee to go, and then sat and ate beignets with a sweet tea for each of us. Very tasty and just enough food for a good afternoon snack!

The cutest place, it would be a perfect place to go get an espresso and work if you were in town for business. There are plenty of tables, free WiFi, nice bathrooms, great location (north of all the other businesses) a little bit quieter. The only thing they are missing is an outdoor area. The beignets came out quick and were super yummy! Staff was nice. The whole store of this place is clearly displayed and is fun to read too!

Love the caption above the archway before you go to the ordering station ahead.

This place was a must stop during my visit to Mobile. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to visit! I loved the ambiance. It had a combined industrial and historic feel. I had beignets in their dining room rather than grab a bag to go. I recommend eating your beignets in the dining room. Try to grab a seat at the front window so you have an opportunity to people watch. Service was good. Staff was friendly when I ordered. Beignets didn't come quickly, of course, as they're made fresh to order. As with any other beignet place, DO NOT wear a black short or any other dark color. You will have very noticeable powder sugar all over you. The beignets here are delicious! They're made from scratch, all day and every day. They have quite a story on how the company was founded. Go to their website and read "The Story of Mo Bay." As you will begin to read, sometimes you have an idea and sometimes an idea has you. I completely agree! I'm also for supporting local businesses so stop by Mo' Bay Beignet if you're ever in Mobile! Enjoy those beignets and watch out for that storm of powder sugar falling from somewhere..... Maybe somewhere above?

Even my squirrel friend wanted a taste.

The girl checking me out was so so sweet and helpful! The beignets were DELICIOUS. What a cute place.

Our Mardi Gras season here in Mobile has ended, and as we are well into Lent, I finally have time…read moreto compose a review of this unique and very good bakery. I wish that I could say that I was the one at our household who discovered Dropout Bakery, but I cannot. Instead it was my wife who, searching for someplace other than a supermarket to purchase a King Cake for our Mardi Gras celebration, found this fine bakery. Now, as I have never actually been to its location in downtown Mobile, it should be understood that this review is based solely on my experience with consuming their product. My wife learned that this bakery has an online ordering system, and that the product ordered through their website should be picked up the following morning. She further learned that, because of high demand, their in store product usually sales out within minutes of their opening each day. So as a first try she ordered a 6 inch King Cake, a small spinach quiche, and two petit-fours. The next morning she drove downtown and found, as she had learned it would be from online reviews, a long line to the bakery of customers waiting for the business to open. After going the long queue and finally upon reaching the interior, she found her online order waiting for her, separated from the other produce which was being quickly bought up by the customers in shop. This small business simply does not yet have the manpower or equipment to produce enough product to last beyond one day. Which is a good thing for customers who insist on same day freshness. The quiche and petit-fours did not survive long enough for me a get a photograph of each, but I did manage to get a photo of the King Cake, which I have included in this review. Finally, we found each item to be superbly delicious and very much worth the effort. We will be back again soon in order to sample more of their product, especially their larger King Cake when Mardi Gras season rolls around again next year.

It was sooo good with little chocolate pieces and bites of banana. Definitely will be going there again.
