Booked through the Chase travel portal. Excellent service, great all female crew. Very relaxing to be around. I did the turtle canyon snorkeling cruise. We saw about 7 turtles when they came up for air and then dive back down. The snorkeling was unsatisfying though because it was too murky due to the trade winds to see the beautiful reef the turtles were diving down to or the fish. So you will see turtles but you could just watch from the boat. That being said the boat ride was very relaxing and we sailed for awhile before coming back to harbor. They made an excellent pina colada and I enjoyed a nap in the sunshine on the way back. They have restrooms for number one only which were easy to use. No toilet paper in the toilet. They provide you with water.

The crew were so attentive and kind and worked hard to make the day as much fun as possible! We went on the Turtle Canyon snorkeling trip, which was a perfect length excursion for me. I saw about 15 turtles (and had to run away from a couple that came too close), tons of fish (including flying fish on the sail home) and even dolphins! Lastly, they make a nice strong Mai Tai Highly recommended!

We booked the two hour Waikiki Swim and Sail Cocktail Cruise. The captain and crew were amazing! Sailing along the coastline with Diamond Head as your backdrop with a drink in hand. What's not to love? If you get hot, you can cool off right in the ocean. Our experience was definitely one of the big highlights to our trip! Good vibes all around. Mahalo Moana Sailing Company!

This touring company was very fun, relaxing and overall such an incredible experience. Energetic and kind staff are all aboard to serve you and help you with whatever you may need. I also wanted to point out that prior to this there was an error in booking w/o being notified about the cancellation but all is well and we understand that it can happen. With that being said, Jenna did an amazing job on helping us get back in schedule asap! :) I appreciated the quick recovery and was welcomed to the option of a full refund or an upgrade to the sunset cruise instead. Ofc it was an easy choice since I've been dying to check this place out anyway. Will definitely need to come back!

When you have a national weather alert on your phone in the morning and you have a scheduled event in the afternoon, you'll get initially worried. My daughter-in-law confirmed with Moana Sailing it was still a go, so my husband and I trusted Moana Sailing especially when we love to fish (even though this wasn't a fishing excursion) in the rain while in Alaska. Location is easy to find. They're located in the back at Pier D in the Kewalo Basin area. Prior to boarding, we were greeted and signed a waiver. Once boarded, Bella introduced herself along with the rest of the crew who were also lifeguards and went over safety rules. Very efficient, friendly and engaging. When we anchored, they were all situated to watch everyone as we swam around. (Note: They have floaties and life vests for use) You're able to bring food but they also have a bar for non-alcoholic or alcoholic drinks (the prices were pretty reasonable for a charter company). The weather conditions were great despite 80% cloud cover because the Sun did come out! The sailing back to the pier was peaceful. Overall, great experience for anyone looking for a reasonable priced water activity to do while visiting or doing a staycation "playing tourist". Highly recommended

Booked this tour on the Chase Portal website & had no problems! We booked the 5pm sunset tour and made sure to get there a little early so we had time to find and walk to the correct pier. The staff collected our shoes before boarding and locked them up to keep them safe. the boat is big enough to allow all passengers to walk around comfortably, and had lots of seating available too! the bathroom on deck was comfortable and clean. there was also netting near the front of the ship that you can sit on. the drinks were fine- the first drink was complimentary and the rest were $8. the crew was quick with taking drink orders, helped take pictures of their guests, played great music, and made the experience nice and fun. we even came across some dolphins on our tour!! the boat drives towards Diamond Head which allows you to get a gorgeous view of Waikiki. This was a wonderful experience- i'd be happy to book again in the future. note: if you're sitting at the front of the boat, be ready to get soaked by the ocean at some point!

Went for a sunset sail Monday Jan 18th and it was a wonderful experience. We both ordered Mai Tai for complimentary drinks and it was good. We had 6 whale sightings and everyone was excited Beautiful sunset The instructions and team work was phenomenal Will go again!

Instructor was not funny but he tried, props to him. The workers were great, the female her name started with a B was not approachable. Had an attitude when I asked her a question. Also, late to reply on booking changes. The guy with the long hair, kinda was flirting with other instructors from different boats. Kinda forgot he had people to watch over and a job to do. Overall great experience, a lot of turtles to see and different marine animals in the water. Love the boat and their complimentary drinks. Definitely recommend for a chill time. read more

We had a great time snorkeling at turtle cove. It took us about 20 min to get to the spot. There were several other boats in the area with quite a few people in the water, but there was plenty of room for us. Captain Chris was very nice and helped everyone get fitted before entering the water. Word of advice, if you have facial hair, he recommends a little Vaseline to help the mask seal under your nose. Once in the water, we hovered over the spot where the turtles come through to get cleaned by the fish. We saw several turtles come through and a lot of fish. If you want to maximize your snorkeling time, try to get fitted quickly, as it takes some time to get everyone in the water. read more

This is THE sunset cruise to be on. From the humor of captain, to "the first drink" free this was by far the best sunset experience you could have. Shoutout to the crew who were exceedingly attentive to our drinks and even offered to take pictures for us! Extremely professional and made the experience feel very catered while relaxing with the most incredible views of Waikiki/Diamond Head. I almost asked the captain for the Spotify playlist because the relaxing Hawaiian music slowly transitioned to chill beats. As the suns dipped below the horizon we were met with acoustic versions of songs that just took the ambiance to the next level. And the drinks selection and mixed were incredible (with generous portions!!!!) Overall 10/10 and we WILL be making this a must-do on our Hawaii trips each year. read more

Had a perfect morning of snorkeling off off Waikiki on the Moana Catamaran! Elijah, Zach, and Keala made the experience super comfortable for everyone and made sure we all had picture perfect memories. Captain Chris got us out to the best snorkel spot super fast and we saw at least 8 turtles and unlimited fish. They let us hang out in the water for more than enough time and everything felt very laid back. I would highly recommend this charter over others as it was definitely not overpacked and felt much more comfortable than many other boats we have been on in Oahu as all seats had cushions and support. If I could give a 0 rating I would. I was running 3 minutes late due to traffic so I called their office at 7:10 to let them know. The gal who answered said she would call the crew and let them know but was unable to get ahold of them. I had also text the crew to let them know. I pulled up 2 min late a the boat had left. No courtesy call, and worse of all there was never any open line of communication with the crew. When I called back to speak to the office because I was appalled--the general manager got on the phone and was not empathetic, actually he was rude and indignant. I ask for a reason and he said "you can ask all you want but you're not getting a refund". The lack of professionalism and customer service was so upsetting!!! Save yourself the trouble, there are tons of other vendors to choose from, this is not an ethical business. read more

Today we went snorkeling with Moana Sailing and it was spectacular! My family of 6 includes a small child and even though he couldn't swim, the Moana Sailing team made an effort to include him! They took him close to the water and showed him all the turtles and fishes in the reef, he had a blast! The rest of us had a lot of fun in the water, we saw so many fish and the turtles were so cute I love that there's a bar, my mom and dad got piña coladas that were delicious and the captain explained the snorkeling in detail, it was very beginner friendly. They helped with our masks, our fins, and stayed by our side even in the water. The boat ride itself made me nauseous, but the crew was so kind and patient and accomadated me immediately. They are all very protective of everyone in and out of the water, I felt safe knowing they were all lifeguard certified. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars, I will definitely be sailing with them again! read more

We had a fabulous time going out to turtle cove with Moana sailing, the captain was kind and funny, and ensured everyone was safe on the quick voyage out to the snorkel spot. They had a guide in the water the entire time and we had our 2 children with us, and the water was a bit rough this day and the guide in the water made sure to keep an eye on us and give us tips to keep the kids safe while also enjoying their time in the water. The boat is ultra comfortable and they had iced water waiting for us on arrival. You take your shoes off before getting on the boat so ensure you have something easy to slip off. They have a spot for your bags and whatnot on the boat as well as a bathroom (no #2s though!) & they drop a ladder into the ocean so it's very easy to get off the boat and into the ocean. They also provide snorkel masks, flippers and floatation device and help ensure you have the best fit for all 3 by helping you get the masks on and properly fitted. We saw a bunch of turtles and fish! The only con has nothing to do with Moana but about the sheer number of people in the water, turtle canyon had at least 3 boats when we arrived and 2 more came while we were in the water making it impossible to swim at times with how many people were in the water trying to look at the same thing. If you don't like crowds or having random people quick you with flippers or suddenly have random body parts in your face, I'd avoid the busy times in Waikiki as it really puts a damper on the experience as a whole. All in all, it was a great snorkel trip and I'd highly recommend booking with Moana! read more

If I could give a zero star rating I would. I am so disappointed in this company. They reiterate on their website over and over again that if WE want to cancel, we have to give them a 24 hour notice but this morning at 10:30 AM they TEXTED us letting us know that we wouldn't be able to go on our 2PM sail time because "not enough people booked". I'm sorry?? How is it MY problem that you guys weren't able to have people book your cruise. it's just beyond ridiculous. Then they gave us the name of a different company we could book with...?? How are you going to send us to a different company when we've already paid with your company?!! Then they were offering us to change to a different day later in the month? Are you kidding me? These events and trips are planned out weeks and months in advance and you're gonna ask us if we can come back in a few weeks. Their policies are so backwards and they're only looking out for themselves. It's so inconsiderate and we are very disappointed. Will not recommend this company and you shouldn't waste your time or money either. read more

Great sunset cruise. The staff was very friendly. They serve a surf and turf meal in a take-out container. It was okay. We didn't go for the food, we went for the boat ride. It was about an hour and a half. The views of the island were amazing. I would definitely recommend sailing at sunset. It was amazing. read more

I booked the "Moana's 2-Hour Guided Turtle Snorkel & Sail Adventure at Waikiki". I was so looking forward to sailing for the first time and also being able to snorkel with turtles! I gave it three stars because I did see turtles and was excited that I got to see one up close. They also called before the time I had booked and said they couldn't go out at that time because they didn't have enough people. They moved my time to later in the day. So be prepared for this type of change when booking excursions. They did allow me to cancel if I wanted so that was nice. I only gave it three stars because we did not sail even though it said "sail adventure" and I felt like the crew was talking down at us like we were kids. I told one of them that my mask was leaking in water (I know how to wear a mask) and he tried adjusting it for me on my head and told me that it should be fine. I ended up going back to the boat to get a different set (that worked fine). This cut out quite a bit of my snorkel time. It was overall a fine experience but I was still very disappointed that we didn't sail like the booking said. read more

My family and I had an amazing time with the crew yesterday 8/7/22! They were extremely helpful for those of us who needed assistance with the kids or beginners, gave great instructions, had the safety gear, beautiful spacious boat, supplied ice water, had alcohol for afterwards and kid friendly drinks at a reasonable price, hilarious captain, and very friendly staff who was friendly to all no matter your race (which is extremely important to my family of color due to unfortunate encounters no matter where we travel.) They also have clean bathrooms as well! This was a great experience snorkeling with the beautiful fish and turtles!! This is a must while in Honolulu, the captain was hilarious. He was very knowledgeable educated us on everything and I noticed he was mentoring his employees very well speaking of his employees. This is such an amazing and relaxing experience to have! The sailing was very smooth and the attendants were very friendly. They provide you with some water to start and we're quick to provide you drinks when needed. The drinks were very delicious and I definitely recommend the Moana Marg. The music was very relaxing to get you into the mood of just unwinding. I also appreciated how they were so willing to help take photos of the experience making the experience even more memorable! I would highly recommend the sunset cruise. The crew, captain and staff were excellent and attentive. Watching the sails being raised and the ship being skillfully maneuvered was interesting and educational. Very relaxing time was had by our whole party. We booked the Whale Watching Tour and it was one of our favorite activities we did on this trip! We got to see 4-5 different pods of whales! It was amazing how quickly we were able to spot the whales and how active they were. Captain Johnny, Bella and Beau were so welcoming and educated us on how to spot the whales and other wildlife. Amazing boat ride with great added features including a small nested area at end of boat and foam pad to hold onto when snorkeling! they also offer beginner assistance while still allowing advanced people to go off on there own. Great trip, great views . Easy to book, show up early. If you book directly you can hop on right away and get some of the best seats. Be warned the mesh area can get a little wet. What stood out to me the most, especially as a mom traveling with young children, was how thoughtful and attentive the crew was. One of the crew members was incredibly kind and patient with my son while he was in the water. He helped him get comfortable laying on a surfboard, gently pulled him around the water so he could see the sea turtles, and even taught him how to tell the male and female turtles apart. Seeing how comfortable and happy my son was made the experience so much more meaningful to me. After snorkeling, we got to enjoy a fun ride on the water, soaking up the sunshine and feeling the ocean breeze. It was the perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, and family fun. If you're visiting Hawaii and looking for an unforgettable experience, I highly recommend this tour! You truly won't regret it. My partner loves turtles, which is why we were so eager to find a memorable experience during our next trip. We found the Living Ocean Tours Turtle Canyon experience through Viator and paid about $80/person which we felt was incredibly reasonable. We saw prior reviews stating that the best time to go is early morning, so we decided to take the first boat out. This was honestly a pro tip as we were not only one of three small groups on the boat, but were also the first boat out to the canyon making the experience feel intimate and memorable! We met the amazing crew who were so knowledgable, friendly, and safety-savvy. The ride itself took about 15 minutes each way. Once we arrived, we felt totally confident swimming out with the provided snorkels, life jackets, and flippers after completing the safety lecture. The crew also emphasized protection of wildlife, instructing us to do our very best to stay 10 ft away or more from the turtles. At times, the turtles would come close to us without our knowledge, so we were also instructed on how to gently swim away when this occurred to maintain safe distance. We spent about an hour and a half total in the water, which was more than enough time to see loads of turtles. When it was time to return, we enjoyed complimentary snacks and drinks on the boat. What made this trip though wasn't just the sharks, it was the crew. Finn, Nika, Tyler, and Lochlan are the real deal. I've done plenty of excursions where the guides are clearly clocking in and counting down to the end of the shift. This was the opposite. When that fifth tiger came through, these four looked like kids in a candy shop. They were losing it right alongside us, because apparently five in one dive is extremely rare. You cannot fake that kind of enthusiasm, and it made the whole day about ten times better. They also know exactly what they're doing. Big animals, open water, and at no point did I feel anything but completely safe. The briefing was thorough, the in-water guidance was calm and clear, and it was obvious this crew has deep respect for the sharks and total command of the situation. That combination of expertise and genuine excitement is rare. Coolest experience of my life with the coolest crew on the water. If you're on the fence about booking with Deep Blue Eco Tours, get off the fence. Ask for Finn, Nika, Tyler, and Lochlan. Ten out of five stars.

Actually, we had originally only planned the snorkel, but it was such a great experience that we booked the shark swim for later in our trip so we could do both. For our snorkel we had an incredible experience seeing dozens of spinner dolphins bow riding our boat on our way out of the harbor - it was such an incredible experience! They took us out to a small rocky island out near Waimea Bay and we got to see lots of fish, coral, and follow a turtle for a little bit. Everyone in our party snorkeled, but our daughter was interested in also diving. Our guide Dallas was great with her - teaching her all the tips and tricks to help her dive down in her snorkel gear. He also retrieved some really pretty shells that he gave to us. The shark swim was really neat - I love that they offer the opportunity for a group to have some people who want to swim and others who want to stay dry on the boat. It's definitely rougher water but they knew exactly where to go and what to do to responsibly call for the sharks and we got to see a lot of them! Our daughter did the swim and had a great experience. The team was extremely skilled and did a great job ensuring a responsible and fun experience for all. We'd definitely recommend them for charters out of Haleiwa!
