Stayed here one night for car camping. Pros: has showers, a pool, friendly staff, close to Downtown Moab. Cons: tent sites are tiny, highway road noise was easily distracting, expensive for what it is. I will probably never stay here again unless I'm out of options because the sites were really pathetically sized. I've never been to a campground where the tent sites are so squeezed together. Luckily, we didn't have any loud neighbors, because noise travelled easily around our area. You can probably find better. read more

Excellent campsite. With small pool, excellent to cool off. No guarantees but no mosquitos and flies on the campground. That makes life a lot easier. Bathrooms and showers mostly clean. The showers are really good. Every morning all you can eat pancakes, excellently baked, for only 5.50 pp. For the rest, excellent base to start your hikes and adventures in Moab. read more

3.5 stars We stayed here in a pull through RV spot. Very spacious, clean facility with a pool, dog parks and a "sparsely" stocked store. Upon check in the woman who helped my husband was very unfriendly. By the time he was done checking us in she was his new BFF. No surprise, he's a charmer! Haha I'd stay here again if I was passing through. It was decent, and the views were exceptional. There's some room for improvement to get to five stars, but hey, at least it's not Steamboat Springs KOA! read more

We stayed here one night in May of 2019, in an RV at the most expensive of sites, E5. This site was equipped with a gas fire pit and a gas grill. Unfortunately, we didn't realize the fire pit was not operating until after the office had closed, so no nice fire for us. Bummer! Luckily the grill worked, so we were able to cook our dinner outdoors. The site is way off to the side, away from the main hubbub of the huge campground, so it was sort of private. The highway was nearby, so not exactly idyllic, but beyond that were some amazing red cliffs, and the locale in general was very beautiful. The highway didn't really bother me when I slept. Bathrooms were just ok, not real clean despite being individual rooms for each toilet/sink, or shower. I would stay here again if I had to, since it's not too far from the national parks. read more

We have always opted for camping in tents and this is our first time renting out a cabin. You still get the feeling of camping out but with less worry. I have a 6yo and a 1yo during our stay here. And all they want is to be done with the trips and hikes and go back to the cabin to play. The mini golf course is my 6yo fave while the pool is my 1yo's fave. I totally recommend this to any small young family that doesn't want the hassle and insecurity of setting up a ten. Oh and the bathrooms are clean and spacious. My kids all went together and we had enough room in there. read more

No sand pad like stated on website. Running water doesn't work randomly due to clay in the pipes constantly. Rivers run through the sites when it rains. Old lady in the office with glasses is rude no matter when you go in. The hot tub is nice. Couple miles outside of town. State Liquor store sucks and is overpriced so bring your own! read more

Stay was ok, just one night. Sites are not level and the utilities are on the opposite side which makes it hard as you have to snake lines under your unit. Also wifi code did not work and no one in the office to help. I feel for $75.00 I should at least have wifi. read more

They take you to your site when you check in(durning the day only) at nite your on your own, the site numbers should be lite, for easy access(FYI) easy access to all the four wheel roads, it is just beautiful here. Well..... we got charged 2X the normal rate for a premium spot that turned out to be the closest to the highway. Noisy indeed. But it did include a gas bbq, nice.... but did not work. They advertise a pool and a laundry room. There were none. Staff is not very helpful, nor did they share this info in advance or at check-in. You just have to discover it on your own after they take your money. read more

Traveling across country, and had a change of plans. We were within the 48 hour cancellation policy, so we had to forfeit our deposit (full price). I understand the need to pay for the one night, but they were unwilling to work with us and waive the extra $20 fee that they charged for the kids. Come on.... they will be able to rent that space to someone else without a doubt... They could have worked with us and only charges us the $50 for the site. Knowing what I know now, I would have been a no show instead of calling. read more

Loved our over night here in a tent site. This KOA tends to fill up fast so make your reservations. This KOA was great. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The front store has lots of little items to pick up if you need them and some fun treats too like ice cream. The pool is killer. Very up to date and beautiful. The tent sites don't have a fire ring. You have to pay extra for that so just keep that in mind. The bathrooms were ok and could have been cleaner but it's camping so I get it. The shower houses are gender neutral but all have locking doors for privacy. Would stay here again in a heart beat. Bonus for this KOA they have a bike wash station ! read more

One of the only places in Moab that has strictly tent sites. When my husband and I arrived in Moab late in the day in early October and every other campsite in a 40 mile radius was filled by RVs, this place still had plenty of tent only sites. Office staff was very accommodating. Paid $30 for the night and the showers were clean, hot, free, and right next to the tent sites. Wifi reached tent sites just fine. The tent area is adorable and very "western looking." The only downside is that the location isn't very pretty and is very close to the road. read more

Problem if you have a tent, no real shade, close to 191 so you hear traffic all the time. Actually bought ear plugs. Parks tent camping full so this is nice. Also great to sit in pool after a day on trails. Would be great for kids and if you have a trailer . read more

This is a great place to car camp. Stayed in one of the older 2 room cabins and it was good. The camp ground was clean and well kept. The bathrooms where always clean. The employee are friendly and helpful. We will stay there again. read more

We have stayed at KOAs before and have always found the staff to be courteous and friendly. We had a terrible experience at the KOA in Moab. The staff was extremely rude - to the point where we will never return. We booked two sites, through the 1-800 number. But when we showed up, they only had us down for one site. The staff didn't apologize or try to help - they even implied that we lied about booking two sites. They told us to find someplace else to camp. Indeed, we shall! read more

Decided to look for a KOA campground due to pleasant experiences in different KOAs....but this place is simply badly priced and the staff was simply not helpful. Chose the "deluxe" campground with water and electric....but I had a major concerned with the tap faucet between 180 degrees opposite to the electric outlet. Moreover the WIFI was questionable....in that three devices where continuously failing to log in. One was an Iphone 4, another a Macbook Pro and lastly a Nintendo DSi. As I took the devices and decided to walk to the counter, I noticed that the WIFI decided to catch on the MBP. I expressed my concern to the counter person and she simply said, this is a function of the "storm" that was developing and she said she was going to ask someone about it and that the repeaters were "really close." Seeing that it was not going to resolve the issue, I told her that the reason why I decided to get deluxe site was to get electric in order to use the internet. He answer was a generic answer saying that the WIFI was a "freebee" that was not included in the price that the only thing that I was paying for was the electricity and the water...Saying, that she could not and would not do anything about it. So, we get into motels and hotels seeing what is advertised to find out that nothing was working and we are supposed to pay for it? This KOA is a sham that puts a very bad reputation on all other KOAs. Avoid if possible. There are many other options around the MOAB area. read more

This place matches the bad reviews. Unwritten rules that you can't hang a hammock in a tree. Learned that fact from the roaming golf cart police. Serious highway noise so sleeping was hard work. Showers have no pressure and very limited hot water. Wifi is always dropping a connection. Skip this place unless you have no other choice. read more

We just came back from a 4 day trip in Moab and we stayed in one of the cabins. Part of the reason we decided to stay at the KOA was because my sister and I were running the Canyonlands half marathon and everything was extremely expensive. We rented a cabin that had a bathroom and it was relatively cheaper than renting a hotel, or so we thought. At the time I booked the cabin we weren't sure if it was going to be just two of us or if it was going to be 4. So we got a cabin that said it would sleep 4 and we thought we would be good to go either way. My boyfriend called a few days before and let the KOA know that we were going to be 4 people plus we were going to be bringing our dog. Just so you know the KOA counts dogs as people because they changed us to a cabin for 6 people. The reason I am giving them 1 star is because they didn't tell us until we went to check in and found that we owed $400 more!!!!! At that point there was nothing we could do because everything was booked for the race. We could have easily have stayed in a decent hotel for the $800 it cost to stay there where there would have been linens and someone who took the trash out for us!!!! The pans that they provided for us to cook with were disgusting and had a burnt film all over them. We had to go buy pans to cook edible food. I would say if you can come prepared with your own cookware, utensils and plates. The Wifi was terribly slow and the thermometer didn't work so it was either extremely hot or extremely cold in our cabin. The one thing this KOA has going for them is that the serenary is beautiful in moab, but when we go back we will not be staying here again!!! read more

We had very similar experience as that of the other negative reviews, and would not return. The place is over-priced given its location well outside of town. For essentially the same price there are nicer rv parks inside town, where you can also walk to restaurants, get supplies easily, etc. Also, the location is on the opposite side of town you would want to be on for access to national parks. The owners were also unfriendly, consistent with the experience of some other reviews. This is probably only an issue if you have a problem, but then again, that is when good customer service matters the most. We hadn't read the other yelp reviews before going to the place, but reading the reviews after the fact I was struck by how true the negative comments about customers treatment rang. read more

This location is overpriced even for a KOA to begin with. We booked a two night stay and arrived one hour before the stated check-in time and was charged an additional $10 fee for early arrival. The lady at the front desk was very rude and non-accommodating. We have traveled all over the lower 48 and Alaska and this is the first time anyone has charged for arriving early. There were plenty of sites available I might add. The advertisement stated shady sites, only part of the park has trees large enough for shade and there is not one piece of green grass for your dog anywhere. We will never stay here again and do not recommend it. read more

This campground was nice but the pull-thru spots were at an angle and we had to put blocks under the jacks in the front. We also had to ask for a couple of bricks for the step. The employees were awesome and the site was clean but since it was new, the trees were just planted so no shade. We had an awesome time and everyone was so nice! read more

We had a wonderful time at this KOA! The facilities were incredibly well maintained and the pool offered a view you can't find anywhere. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The sites were clearly marked and separated. Overall we were very impressed by this facility and would highly recommend it. It far exceeded our expectations! read more

We are currently on our 7th day here. We had booked a camping cabin but before we arrived we had decided to upgrade to a deluxe studio. They was very helpful at the desk. All but 1 night was available. So we had a camping cabin for one night. Through our hole stay the staff has been awesome. (I read some reviews that people had problems with staff but we didn't have no problems). While in the camping cabin we had to go to the shower house it could have used a good scrub down, and the hot water didn't last long. The play ground does need some work it is lacking. And the wifi is horrible. Our deluxe cabin was a little pricy but was very nice. At least the kids have their own little room and can go out and play with other kids unlike a hotel. Our views of the mountains are awesome, We got a cabin on the back row and the kids loved playing in the sand trenches behind the cabin. The propane grill was great. The patio and fire pit was nicely done and the cabin was very clean. We will definitely be staying here if we ever make it back to Moab. read more

The staff was friendly upon check-in. They did have pull thru sites long enough to accommodate our 60' requirement, although not level. Unfortunately they do not provide security and appears they do not man the after hours phone line. Should you have an issue you are on your own to call 911 and wait for help to arrive. read more

If you like it hot, dry and dusty this is your place where you basically stay inside all day fighting to keep it cool inside your RV then once the sun goes down you can actually go outside .. lol. If you have pets don't both trying to take them to the dog-run as the sand is sure to burn their pads - yikes - it wasn't fun at all. The RV pads are all gravel so we had to park twice to get it level and still several of our tires were off the ground. Again, if the first sentence works for you then this is your place. read more

Overpriced for what you get... A tired old campground that over advertises amenities. They are bare minimum, broken or run down. Sites are very close together and have little shade. Once you get here, you can't cancel unless you give 48 hour notice. Spend your money elsewhere. People were nice. read more

This review is for the tent sites. We didn't check out the RV sites. The fact that we weren't stuffed between RV sites was one of the first positive things we noticed at this KOA. We have stayed at a few (and other urban tent sites) and you are usually squeezed into whatever leftover space they can't use for RVs. In this site we had a fenced off area with a grill, a picnic table and a sun shelter. There was plenty of space for our car, tent, picnic table and lawn chairs. You usually don't have this kind of space in an urban tent site. As with most KOA's, the bathrooms had everything you need and were clean. We appreciated the outdoor sink for doing dishes. We tried to use the social area one night but it was packed (as was the KOA). No fault of theirs. They are obviously meeting a need in the Moab area. We were in one of the tenting sites furthest away from the office and so the WiFi wasn't strong enough for us to use in our site but not a big deal. The KOA is right off the highway and so you will hear traffic noises but if you are from the city this is just normal background noise. Staff was very friendly as we checked in. We didn't have any problems during our 3 nights there and so we didn't have another opportunity to talk with the staff but we could see them around the campsite during the day and evening. Note.. Urban tenting isn't something most people choose to do but if the National/State Campgrounds are full (which they seem to be a lot of the time) these things are life savers and it is always nice to find one that is above average. read more

Stopped by to make a quick stop at the restrooms. A woman in a yellow KOA shirt pestered us and forced us to move our car uphill to "avoid traffic for RVs" when there were TWO RVs that easily passed by behind us. My daughter had to walk all the way up the hill back to the entrance because KOA employees couldn't wait 10 minutes for her to use the restroom. Would NEVER stay here. read more

i had never camped in my life, but i wasnt scared. i was just nervous about staying at a place like this. having been on other road trips and seeing koa's then my bf and decided to stay at a koa for our trip. this was the first koa we stayed at during our trip. we booked a tent site for about $30 for only one night, 8/24/09. we got to the campsite at about 6pm. the lady that checked us in was really nice. the site we got was the last one in a row that had 5 sites. the big trash can was on the other side of our site, not too close though. we had a medium sized picnic table, two electrical outlets, water and free wifi. and a place where to park. we were also near the showers and bathroom. they were both together in one room that was private and away for only one person. it is like the bathroom you have at home. in the morning i did see wild rabbits and grass hoppers and of course lizards. this koa had a pool, a horse shoe throwing area, laundry room, small store, rec room, cabins, and rv hook ups. they also serve breakfast every morning. the breakfast was pancakes, sausage, juice or milk. it wasnt free but it was way cheap!! and really good :) a lady was making them right in front of me so you wont get any frozen stuff. i would highly recommend this koa to anyone. i would stay here again but this time try to get a cabin. read more

We initially decided to spend one night here for the new pool. Ended up staying an extra night because we enjoyed it so much. The individual baths/showers are nice. We received great hospitality from the front desk. The only thing we could ask for is more shaded spots at the pool. read more
