My birthday was July 4th and we were visiting Moab from Denver. I passed on cake and wanted ice cream instead and found Moab Garage. Unfortunately they close at 3pm so that meant midday ice cream. Two of us had fluffernutter, one mocha and the other cake batter. Seriously...some of the best ice cream I've had. Had a huge salad full of veggies and added some chicken. The chicken was nicely cooked and it was a great size for a salad lover. Had to "round out" the meal with some of their ice cream. Super fun to watch them make it right as you order it. I had salted caramel crunch and it was the perfect combo of sweet and salty. Super creamy but somehow light, too. This is one of the best places in Moab. Typically that's not saying much but they do ice cream, coffee and breakfast very well and the place is a bit more modern than the other places in town. That goes for their menu as well. They do a lot here but the menu and the waffle is best in town and they make a delicious yogurt granola fruit thing. The ice cream is amazing but they are not small so be prepared. I did not try their sandwiches but after a few of the other meals I had in town I wished I had just eaten here instead. Had breakfast there last week, ordered the ham and egg breakfast, eggs over easy. I was served a few dried up tater tots, a few paper thin slices of ham, and "eggs". What they did to those poor things should be illegal. I didn't even recognize them, had to ask the waitress where they were. She pointed out the two square, flat, crispy things that leaked yoke when cut with a fork. Funky vibe, but not being able to recognize eggs was a first for me. Wendy's up the block would have been a better option, and I don't care much for fast food. No thanks. read more

Great little casual spot! Cute staff, funky decor and lighting, interesting tasty menu. The coffee was good. Nice little ice cream counter with yummy flavor options. We came for brunch and had a croque madam that was delicious and so was the biscuits and gravy with soft fluffy biscuits and a tasty subtly spiced sausage gravy and tater tots which was amazing. The huevos rancheros was a little different with a bean and corn salsa and red sauce that we didn't care for but seemed to be popular. The burritos looked fantastic with a grill on them. The waffle on the kids menu was an authentic Belgian with sugar pearls. All the plates came with some kind of fresh fruit. Lots of vegetarian choices. read more

My husband and I stumbled across this place while travelling through Moab during a hiking trip (thanks to Yelp)! Unfortunately, we ended up in Moab on a Tuesday when they're closed, so we made a trip back on Wednesday - worth the trip! The employees were super sweet and the coffee is fabulous! The atmosphere is awesome - very cool hipster-chic place to hang out, get some grub (highly recommend the street tacos), and catch up on some work. Coffee was the best we'd found, so we ended up stopping again on Thursday on our way out of town! Love this place!! read more

Great spot for breakfast. We stopped in twice during our trip. The Garage Burrito was excellent and enough good for two people to share.

Love the decor, super friendly staff, and the food was amazing. We had ice cream: cinnamon brown sugar which tasted like churros and caramel pecan, which rivaled the best PNW creamery ice cream we've had. We came back the next day for breakfast: the smothered burrito and the croque madame. Best breakfast we can remember. I'm writing this review to figure out why no one has mentioned the deep fried peanut butter & jelly sandwich?!? I'm not one for deep fried carnival food, but this hit the spot & was delicious (not greasy like carnival food). Hands down the most impressive meal I've had in Moab thus far. What a gorgeous space! I was thrilled when I walked in just based on the look of the place alone, and the food reinforced my initial feelings. I ordered smoked salmon toast with a drip coffee. The toast was fresh and tasty, but the coffee was the real standout. It was genuinely some of the best coffee I've had anywhere in a long time which I really wouldn't haven't expected before visiting Moab, but I've since realized this town excels in many ways I wouldn't expect. My only regret is not buying a bag of beans for the road as I was very sad when I hit the bottom of my cup, but I guess that just gives me something to look forward to the next time I'm in town. Service and atmosphere practically the definition of five-star. Over the top with room to spare. Waffle cone is the best anywhere. Ice cream needs some work. First, staff are friendly, patient, and actually enthusiastic. It feels like they're genuinely excited to share something with you. The good vibes are contagious. The atmosphere is great. Setting is "industrial-modern" which isn't my favorite, but the liquid nitrogen gimmick is solidly cool. They mix each serving of ice cream by hand in little steel mixers then add the liquid nitrogen right in front of you for a theatrical effect. The ice cream itself isn't great, sadly. First, given the "craft, small-batch" mixing technique you'd expect real ingredients from top to bottom. Unfortunately, artifical colors and flavors abound. Next, consistency is on the soft side, which is great for immediate eats, but quickly dissolves. Texture needs work. The fruit in my strawberry shortcake ice cream was frozen solid in little iceberg hunks of tooth cringing unpalitableness. The graham in my key lime pie was grainy like sand, not chunky as one may expect. Finally, flavors on the whole were muted. I'd call it "subtle" if they used more whole ingredients, but in any case not too flavorful IMO. Still, prices were modest, well below what you'd expect for the concept and location. I'd be back in a heartbeat to try again given the potential, outstanding service and cool vibes. read more
