Açaí bowl with poi, blueberries, strawberries, banana, and pineapple

Love love love mo'ono! Their toppings are always fresh and the açaí base is tasty. Their upcountry location near Longs Drugs is very convenient. Get the poi if they have it, their lilikoi (passion fruit) butter is really good too!

Mo'ono Hawaii located at their second location in Kihei.

So thankful for their second location in Kihei close to home for me AND they had poi today!! Double win! Its unusual that poi will last to Friday at any of their locations due to the demand of it, so it was a great suprise!! The Kihei location is located behind Azeka's Market Mauka. Best Acaí bowl on Maui hands down! Go check them out!

Mo ono mini bowl with poi! And lilikoi butter. And peanut butter.

Mo ono is top notch! Love them in their Kahului location and now it's awesome that they have their Kīhei location. This is the best after the beach kine treat you can get for yourself. Everything tastes so ono and it is refreshing. These açaí bowls are the best on the island. The seating area for the Kīhei food trucks is super cute; your social media friends will love your new selfies here. Speaking of social media, follow them on Instagram and you will always know if they are open or if they sell out or not. Check their Instagram before you go. They are active and keep their followers updated regularly. Enjoy!

For "dessert" we ordered 2 keiki bowls. You can either pick your toppings or opt in for all offered toppings. There are premium toppings offered, so I opted in for Lilikoi butter since poi was sold out at the time. Açaí was pretty basic and what was expected. Service was prompt and friendly. Attached is the most current menu as of 4/2/19.

Women owned Açaí bowl business? FOR THE WIN! My bowl was amazing, I got everything in the included toppings and added lilikoi butter + papaya of the premium toppings and it was the right call all around. Nice food truck in a parking lot (many other food trucks around that looked very busy so I'm guessing very good).

As long as I have my poi and lilikoi butter :)

Owner is super nice, acai is well blended and sweet but not too sweet, and toppings are generous and flavorful. Really great bowl place!

The truck itself is fun, painted with bright tropical colors and scenes, and they seem to be known for their loaded tots and bao buns. I placed my order on the touchscreen outside and then sat down to wait for my food. For lunch on this day I went with the buffalo chicken tots and the Island Piggy bao. The menu described the bao as kalua pork, BBQ sauce, tropical salsa, and pickled red onions. The buffalo chicken tots were described as buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo sauce, jack cheddar cheese, house made pickles, and ranch dressing. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to be ready and I sat down at one of the shaded picnic tables. When I opened everything up it all looked good, but I did notice that the tots were missing the house made pickles. I started with the bao and thought it was pretty good. The kalua pork was super juicy and the bao bun was light and fluffy while still holding together well. The pickled onions added a nice acidity and the tropical salsa brought good flavor. The only thing I did not notice much was the BBQ sauce. After that I dug into the tots. The tots themselves were cooked nicely with a crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken was good as well with a nice batter and the buffalo sauce added flavor while the cheese was gooey. The only thing worth noting is that the chicken was softer than expected and not very crispy. It worked since I did have the texture from the crispy tots, but it stood out. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I would probably not order both a bao and tots again as it was a lot of food, but I would definitely come back for one or the other.

The spam brussel sprouts were amazing and such a fun, unexpected combo. Our absolute favorites were the ahi bao and the pork tots, both were standout, crave worthy dishes. We visited last May, so some of the items were seasonal, which just makes it even more exciting to go back and see what's new. Great service, great vibes, and really creative food. If you see this truck, do not skip it.

Well no bad guys ever showed up, and the hucksterism was pretty low key. The excitement was not to be had either but it was obvious that these trucks are feeding a lot of people. If they were only able to lower their prices even a little they could be feeding even more but I guess their overhead is probably pretty high even for a parked truck. Anyway I was expecting a bit lower price scale, but it is what it is. So .. For fifteen bucks plus tax and tips I got the seared salmon. The fish was nicely cooked, I enjoyed it. The vegetables were pretty meh but did help bring more of the sauce to the palate. Yes, the sauce was good, right on the verge of too much soy, but they did a good job keeping it balanced. The salmon portion size was small, but not insultingly tiny. Could have been a bit larger for the $15, the value is not there only if you compare to what you make at home, otherwise it's probably disappointedly normal. When you get your six inch diameter bowl you will see what I mean. The heap of rice made for good entertainment feeding the chickens. You're discouraged from feeding them so I just sat the bowl down behind the coffee guys trailer and watched them pig out. It is not exactly "Fast" food here, they are actually cooking the meal while you wait. I had my order in 12 minutes though, exactly how long she said it would take.

Not like a garden you walk through with different plants and flowers. They have lots of things, though. There was a yoga session happening in the middle lawn area. They have a butterfly area, even though the butterflies were somewhere else. There is an aging tortoise, I forget his name. There are also different businesses in the buildings, like a spa and a salon. There are different small vendors with their booths and several food trucks; although, some were not open in the morning and the Thai food truck had all their items sold out on their menu already. The prices were even more pricier than the food trucks at Maui Food Trucks. One vendor had hand crafted desserts for $20/piece! I admired from afar, haha. Everything is advertised as "farm to table" maybe justifying their prices. We shared an acai bowl and it was mid. The the peanut butter was just scraped on the side of the bowl. Our typical acai bowls at least put the peanut/almond butter in the middle like any other topping so you can get an even bite with everything. But the dallop of peanut butter just on the side, it was like we ordered peanut butter on the side of our acai bowl. It was weird. I bet it's more alive at night with more food trucks open and live music. We came and saw and didn't come back. I can see how it can be great for families with toddlers running around, giving them a safe space to burn their energy. Until then, this probably won't be the top of our list.
