Amazing textures, fresh flavors and inspiring combinations, don't miss a delicious Açaí bowl from Humbowl Wagon. I'm not an açaí lover, until I tried a Humbowl I didn't even look twice at an açaí bowl but now I'm hooked. My go to fave is a Humbowl with added almond butter. As I write this I'm enjoying a Hapa Haole with added almond butter. It's all the things that are good for you in a lovely layered masterpiece. Today I drove up to Makawao to get my fix, but check their Instagram to find out where she's parked. Handmade ingredients from the neighbors fruit trees and expertly done, you can't go wrong. Make all your açaí dreams come true.

Their menu and their efforts to take local farm goods to table is commendable. This food truck uses items from Kumu Farms, O'oka Farms, Kula Farming and La'akea Farms. Humbowl Wagon specializes in vegan menu which is great and they also sell driftwood macrame items along with succulents. This food truck highly encourages being plastic free, reusing and sustainable containers. They also use paper straws in their drinks. I ordered their fizzy Kula strawberry, lemonade drink which I was excited about. I was expecting the size to be a lot larger for the cost. The flavor was zesty and bright initially but over a short period of time it ebbed exponentially and left the drink bland. Something to note and watch out for future purchases is their taxes and pricing. I bought one of their drinks and ended up paying 70 cents in tax when usually it's like 15 cents. Normal hours are Wed - Sat: 8:00am to 2:00pm in Paia. They do go to the Sunday Night Market in Kahului. The website online does not list their menu and neither does their Instagram but they seem to have a standard set menu. I might come back to try their food items next time around.

All the ingredients are so fresh, the granola is crunchy and the ratio is always prefect to the last bite.

It was a fantastic sandwich, loaded with crispy bacon and creamy avocado! We added the Tsunami Furikake Onion rings, $17, and a "Mother of Dragons" mocktail, $10 and a draft beer. The onion rings were massive and plentiful. We practically took home a full box of leftovers to enjoy later! Yes, if ever back in Paia, we're heading back to Paia Bay Coffee & Bar.

Instead I hit 'Paia Coffee and Bar' , this absolutely did the trick!! Very cool place with an infectious vibe and hip staff. It has a walk up coffee bar area right from the street & outside shaded seating which is difficult to find in this town anywhere. So I once again ordered a 12 ounce double shot whole milk latte and it was excellent.. second best rated cup of coffee I experienced in all of Maui . I can also see why on Google alone this place has 1.2 k reviews, It's really kind of a hybrid location as it serves coffee along with alcohol and food etc.. Give it a whirl, I'm definitely going to go back when I'm in town next.

We were looking for a small nosh after an early start to catch the sunrise at Haleakalā, and this place fit the bill The stand is about an hour drive from there and features a bevy of caffeineted beverages, smoothies, and fruit forward dishes. The Good: *More than just food, as there's also a lady who sells handmade Hawaiian jewelery. Follow her @nawahinemaui to check out her wares. She was also very friendly and good for a chat. *Coconut guy selling fresh coconut juice straight from the source was really friendly and priced right @$5 per The Meh: *Only one port-o-potty available for use (see the jewelery lady for the key), but it's better than nothing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ *Service at the food counter was not the friendliest and awfully slow. The Ugly: *Pricing on the Açaí bowls are borderline obscene @$16/lg ($14/small). That's not to say they were bad but for that price, it better be the best açaí bowl I've ever had. Spoiler alert: it was not. TLDR: Overall, it's a nice spot to stop and check out some roadside goodies, but maybe stick to the coconuts and jewelery.
