Been here a few times always on weekends and always get great service. Gel manicures, removal, traditional manicure. Only thing is it seems like they try to pack in way too many people, instead of taking reservations and telling people to come back later. To clarify they do take reservations, but it doesn't seem to matter when they will take a walk-in if they happen to arrive first. This caused the technicians to be rushed and stressed from what I could tell, and sometimes causes people to wait when they weren't expecting to. I think they should increase their prices and take fewer customers. Nails are great just feels slightly mismanaged. read more

I have found my nail salon. Once a year I treat myself to a medi & pedi. Every year i try a new location just to see where I want to spend my money. I believe I can finally stop looking because I have found my spot. I went on a busy weekend and was still in and out within an hour. I had multiple people take care of me. Ms. Emma did a beautiful job on my natural nails while another employee worked on my toes. The gentleman gave me a massage a lovely massage that I didn't not want him to stop. They pamper their customers so I understand why they have great reviews. Take my advice and go for yourself there is nothing like experiencing MLV for yourself. read more

Needed a go to nail studio since I moved out here from California found this place based on yelp reviews and Emma's Instagram page as well. This has been my go-nail shop since September of last year and it's really convenient because it's a 6 minute drive from my school . My last set was done by Emma she is my nail tech every time I go I high recommend her because she is very polite, she will talk to you (especially if you're not a talker like myself) she enjoys a conversation while she is doing your nails. Which I like about her. Also! She is one of the few nail techs who can shape and file coffin shaped nails perfectly. Went in for a pedicure and full set. I didn't get the womans name who did my toes but she did a great job on my feet I walked out of the nail shop feeling like I was walking on clouds. It was supper relaxing. She massaged my feet and cracked a few toes. Just what I needed. My last set I wanted just ombré nails but she suggested I give the glow in the dark ombré nails a try. She didn't charge me extra I guess because she suggested I try it. I usually call and make a appointment before I go because I want to keep Emma as my nail tech. So I usually call like a day before just so I can make sure she does my nails. They always offer you a beverage when you're being serviced, water, green tea, and hot chocolate. My last experience here wasn't so good. It's been either hit or miss. The last time I went with my daughter. It was crowded but we waited since it was holiday time. I explained to the tech I wanted a neutral gel color. When she came back with a color I told her that that was not the color I chose. She said it looks different on the nail. IT DID NOT. When I told her I did like it . She tossed the color wheel at me. Told me pick another color. Began speaking with another tech. Then she snatched my hand back. At this point I decided no longer wanted her to help me . My daughter was done and waiting and I hadn't even had my pedicure started. The owner Emma took over and completed my services. This place is the bomb, everyone was friendly and sweet. My technician Michael was so wonderful, he mended a broken nail and gave me a mani- Pedi tho die for. I loved my nails! I got ombré glow in the dark and they were bomb asf ! I'm definitely going to be going back. I'm so picky about my nails but they definitely made them exactly how I liked them! Customer service is good they are really nice but my nails are lumpy. I would give two stars but because they are friendly I'm giving one brownie point. I got a refill the acrylic is not smooth and the polish has lots of bubbles. My pedicure guy was learning I understand but I want to pay the practice price because the shape is wrong and uneven. read more

I read great reviews on the salon for nails, but I would not recommend it for eyebrows. While the woman who did my eyebrows was friendly enough, she spoke loudly to her colleagues the entire time while working with me. Eyebrow waxing is done in the middle of the studio and unfortunately my brows did not come out the same. I also asked for a slight arch in my brows but they came out looking more like straight lines. I would not go back for this service. read more

The owner overcharged me. Also, she charged me for the design in addition to having 3 different polish colors. I got a heart on my nails and it looks like a triangle. She does not polish well. My gel manicure looks horrid. All the polish looks like it was leaking down or she did not let the gel sit under the light long enough! This was my second time here and both times were disappointing! Nail tech had an attitude when I asked her to fix the polish on my nail because she missed the entire side of my nail.

I went here once but honestly not sure if I'll go back. I asked for my nails to be square with the sides a little round and i left with complete oval grandma nails! I was not even paying attention until i looked up like "damn". Also, i grew my real nails out for sooo long so the shape and length was all a waste what i worked so hard for. Lastly, she never trimmed my cuticles like everyone else does so i asked her and she said that's an extra $8! Never heard of it. So she left all of that skin on the top of my nail and they didn't look new. it looked nothing like the pictures of clean cuticles & precisely shaped nails. Like how do you just leave the cuticles on a fresh set and up charge $8? I'll only go back if the Emma lady does my nails next time that I seen everyone raving about but she was not there. Also, i wonder if she upcharge $8 to trim the cuticles on her full sets as well. If so i know for sure I'll never go back. Smh read more

The only reason why I am giving them three instead of two stars is because of Emma's sincerity and welcoming energy. After seeing the five star reviews that this salon gets on Google, I just KNEW that I had to try this salon out. It's not far from my house and I've seen people on Instagram who got their nails done at this salon and they looked phenomenal. First things first, the shop is small, but clean. The chairs that you sit in to get a pedicure were surprisingly kind of worn and torn. I thought the five star reviews would come with high-quality equipment, not so much. The woman that ran my water for a pedicure ran cool water, but in order to soak the dead skin off of feet, the water must be somewhat hot. Myself and the customer next to me had to keep telling them to make the water hotter. Needless to say, I STILL had dead skin on my feet a week after the pedicure. My full set was great, until she started applying the polish. I got gel, which shined, but after a few days began to fade. I asked for a glitter on two of my nails and the lady didn't even know how to apply it. Emma had to come and show her what to do. Frustrating, but instead of being rude I went with the flow. To make a long story short, one of my nails popped off in less than 5 days. NEVER have I had acrylic nails just pop off. You would've thought I had on Lee Press On nails. 3 weeks later, I've been able to pop off all of my nails with ease. I don't know what kind of cheap acrylic they use, but I've been able to go a month without getting a fill in and not one nail begin to loosen up. Ridiculous! PLEASE, don't buy into the reviews on Google or even on YELP. I am back in search of a high quality nail salon in NOLA. I've only been living here for 3 months, and this experience I will never forget. read more

THERE ARE WAY BETTER PLACES... I went in yesterday for a pedicure and full set. I was already skeptical about this place, but I really just needed my nails done. Soon as you walk in the place is uninviting and it's filthy. They don't sanitize the pedicure bowls AT ALL even though they use a plastic cover for the bowls. The chairs are broken and filthy with nail residue. I've watched two ladies get up and not ONE time did I see anymore properly clean for the next guest. All they did was switch the cover. UNSANITARY and it's a health code violation. The water itself was dirty, no soap, or nothing. You can literally see the film on top. The pedicure was one of the worst. Towards the end it was obvious I wasn't pleased. I told the lady my concerns, she told her coworkers in a different language and it's pretty obvious they didn't care at all by the way they just laughed and continued their business.... When it was time to polish my toes they were two different colors, because she watered it down since she ran out. It's obvious she sees it's two different colors and proceeded to finish without even asking me for a different color. I stopped her, made them take my false nails off (they carelessly took them off and was hurting my nails), and I walked out.... I promise you there's way better places, with better service, better people, better work, and CLEANER. This is my first time ever writing a review, because I usually never had a service so bad I had to. This place needs to be shut down. read more

I went here twice/month for a little bit over two years, only leaving unhappy a handful times, strictly due to inconsistency. Sometimes my acrylics were perfect, sometimes different shapes per finger, sometimes extremely thick, sometimes breaking the next day for whatever reason. I won't return because I will not spend my money in an establishment any longer where I may leave happily, or may end up frustrated about why I just wasted money on subpar work and it not be fixed. Ryan is amazing, as well as a few others. Some people's work.... mehhh. I approached the owner three time throughout my time here, expressing my frustrations, at which point she suggested I don't come back. By now I'd already decided this. Then proceeded to back track and told me to come see her specifically at the other location which is not anywhere close to me. I would hope that everyone is good enough at their job for this not have to be the case, but instead I'll bring my money elsewhere where consistency is key. However, I will give them credit for the few people who can do designs and love their amount of options available for colors, glitters, etc. read more

I met Emma at Oakwood Mall about 5 years back, and was excited to see that she started her own business in my neighborhood. The staff are all welcoming and when it appears to get a little crowded, she will call for backup (usually her sister). They are a friendly crew and very personable. I meet up with my sisters here and enjoy our time together. I'm a gel girl but my sister gets acrylic and we are both always pleased with the services. Affordable and nice! read more

If you get the right person, you will have the best nails. Emma is great. She does a wonderful job and anyone that is checking in with her during the process will most likely also do a great job. There is at least one guy there (I don't know his name) who rushes the process and does things incorrectly. I just got mine done yesterday. I had dip powder, gel polish, and acrylic tips. He cut and drilled down the tips like usual. But instead of soaking my dip powder and scraping it off, this time he used an acrylic tip to wedge between my natural nail and the dip and "pop" it off. It felt very uncomfortable and painful on one of my nails. They were so thin, weak, and raggedy. I've been getting dip for like six months now and it's never left my nails in bad shape. I regret not saying anything while he was removing them this way, but I didn't feel comfortable correcting a professional. I now know my nails weren't correctly removed. Just be aware of anyone that is rushing your process/taking shortcuts. With the right tech you will have no complaints here. read more

Just moved to nola from California and I desperately needed a trust worthy nail shop. I really like MLV Nails. Everyone there was really friendly and professional. The shop is clean and they have all the modern options any good nail salon should have (Pedicure chairs, Gel etc). The owner (I didn't get her name) did a full set for me. She really prides herself in her work and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. I pointed out a couple rough spots and she fixed them right up. This is an awesome place to get your nails done! I had broken one of my acrylics and then needed a fill for the rest. They were so fast and extremely friendly! They also gave me options for what I might want to do to my nails and would test it on one nail so I could see it for myself. And I absolutely LOVE my nails. I've been to places before that take forever and charge a fortune, but it was fast and for a very good price! When I'm back in New Orleans, THIS is where I'll be coming to get my nails done!! read more
