For my bday pedi, my girl friend brought me to her go to spot. Busy Monday inside as all techs were occupied. I was seated immediately though my friend had to wait for the next available tech. Mixed feelings about cleanliness-the displays were meticulously organized and nice to look at, but the arms of the massage chairs were dirty and covered in splats of lotion(?) as well as a serious dust bunny situation behind the chairs. Refreshments were not offered by my tech, but the gentleman working on my friend offered so I jumped in on that since I was pretty parched. I don't usually write reviews but writing one about MLV Nails on Bayou Road I must do. If there was a minus 1 star rating I would have used that rating. I had heard good remarks about this salon so I called afternoon of 9/4/25 and asked if I could get a french gel manicure which I got. The nail technician removed current gel polish with electric file which I hate, as opposed to wrapping nail, but was ok with. (I get less time consuming but I have super soft nails) I mentioned one nail was broken. The response was, yah, it's broken. Don't most technicians repair the nail or at least ask if you want to save the nail. Nothing was said and as technician was moving on I actually forgot nail was broken. That was until 4 days later when nail was lifting because it was broken and starting tearing on the other side. At 1 week I had to remove nail as it was hanging by a thread, another nail had broken and 3 nails were chipped. The nails were not shaped alike and there was more white polish on some nail tips than on others. I've had gel manicures on and off for years and have never been as unhappy as I was with his gel manicure. Furthermore, that was the most I have ever paid for a french gel manicure. read more

Never been here before but live in the neighborhood and wanted to try. I got a dip with acrylic extensions which is pretty normal of a request, but the extension was not adhered to all of my nails properly, so there's a gap which I imagine I will need to scrub carefully when hand washing. There's a dip in the middle of several nails where the tip was improperly blended in. Overall, not the worst set of tips I have had and the price was reasonable (overall, they are a bit thick for my taste). My friend came with me and her mani was perfect (may just be luck of the draw). Everyone was very polite and we were offered a beverage. One major issue: this place needs better ventilation and air filtration. I left with a headache that has continued to the next day. I can't imagine the headaches the staff must have. read more

THENNNNNN SHE SPOKE IN HER NATIVE TONGUE TO THE NEIGHBORING TECHNICIAN, who looked at me, looked at my hands, replied to the conversation & then continued to work on her patron. WELL I'LL BE A MONKEY'S UNCLE!!!! They were talking about me, but didn't want me to know what was being said. I mean, was it good or bad, idk, but there was a discussion about me IN FRONT OF MY FACE, that I wasn't privy to, HOW RUDE!!!! That's POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE & I don't stand for that. Now it was time for the toe nail polish change. I was seated in a salon chair, polish was removed & the new polish was applied. Typical application. The technician who re-polished my toes kept trying to up sell the service I was receiving by recommending a full pedicure, I refused, she completed my service and I was done. As I checked out, I was greeted with a $1 convenience fee for using my credit/debit card... huh???? What the what.. a whole dollar????? Dude, really??? Smh. I sensed that once they got busy they really were trying to rush my job but however, maybe because what I wanted took a lot of time to do it was just okay. Absolutely not. This is by far the worst pedicure experience I've had in a long time. I was hit by flying pieces from someone's acrylic removal, covered in dust from the same and threatened with a large cheese grater looking thing when the condition of my regularly pedicured feet does nothing to suggest that would be necessary. My feet are fine. Heavy equipment is not required. I told the tech that wouldn't be necessary, and I don't think that should have been a judgement call I had to make. I should be able to trust the person giving my pedi enough to kind of zone out and catch a podcast on my headphones. Can't do that, here, tho. I can't imagine how much that cheese grater would have hurt or what kind of damage she could have done. I had to ask the tech twice to clip my nails and when it came time for polish she pulled out the power sanding thing they use to rough up your nails when you get extensions. When I asked her if that's something they normally use for a basic pedicure, she said "No" and put it away. The trust is broken, I can't go back here. This was absolutely ridiculous. read more

My pedicure was great, and my feet feel so soft. For my manicure, I wanted stiletto shaped nails. My goodness! My nails looked amazing! I didn't get gel color, and I regretted it. I love this spot because they always seem to have room for walk-ins, even when busy. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be seated, and often don't have to wait at all. There is a complimentary beverage with whatever service you're getting (standard fare like bottled water or canned sodas) which I always appreciate as well. Everyone I've dealt with here has been super friendly, efficient and fast without sacrificing quality of service. I have gotten regular manicures on my natural nails, gel manicures, and acrylics with freehand styles. If I ever have the urge to get my nails done and haven't made an appointment, I know I never go wrong here. I love MLV and the folks who work there. I definitely recommend them if you're trying to get a little gussied up ;). I am a manicure girl through and through, so I can't speak to their other services, but my friends who have had pedis there speak highly of them, too! I recommend going on a slightly "off" hour, since sometimes they do get busy (around the end of the business day for example) but I've gone on Saturdays and evenings and still loved it for all the reasons above. I came here on Sunday May 5, 20204, where I got a full set with gel polish. It cost $60. I was okay with the service on Sunday. Three days later, I put my hand in my purse and one of my nails cracked and it took the entire top of my actual nail and skin off. I was told that the acrylic was put on too thin! I love a natural look on acrylic nails but there is no way that after three days, nails should be cracking and ripping my real nails off. Never has this ever happened to me! I have had lifting but never the acrylic is cracking in this manner. I went back to the nail shop the next day where I was immediately greeted by one of the techs whose initial reaction was to the affect of "ouch". The owner Emma came over quickly and casually stated "just get cut down into square maybe". She kept saying they could fix the nail but if anybody with common sense could see there is nothing to do with the bloody nail. The tech then use a nail clip and cut the nails down, dusted them and told me I was "good to go". They looked a full mess! Once I saw them, I told them I wanted them to take them off because they knew there was no way that looked good. They then of course began to talk about me in their language (which I know some of it) which I find VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! After soaking them off, I asked the owner or manager, Emma for a refund or some type of compensation being that I paid $60 just three days ago which she responded by saying they don't give refund and they could only fix the problem! As anybody can see, there is no way to fix my bloody fingernail that has been ripped off! She also tried to sneak and take a picture of my nail without my permission. As I attempted to explain that there is no way should could fix my nail, she proceeded to walk off and tend to another customer while ignoring me! I will be reporting this business to the BBB and whomever else accepts business complaints about these nail shops that lack any compassion for people's hard earned money they spend to get a half ass service! My $60 down the drain! I am a person who pays for what I like therefore I ultimately wanted my nails. It's not about the money until the service showed to be not worth the money. There were other people in the shop complaining as well! I would advise people to pick somewhere else to get quality nail service. On my way to urgent care to make sure nothing is infected because it burns like hell and I am unable to straighten it. I also can't get the rest of the acrylic off at this time! read more

This was my second experience at MLV. The first one was pretty good. However, yesterday I had a full set and holographic manicure done. It is truly the ugliest set of nails I've ever had. The lady that did them was also unpleasant. If I asked for her to fix something she would yank my hand and try and fix what I asked her to. I wanted ombré nude nails with just a little holographic ombré. They have me a pink and put the holo powder all over graying out the pink. So no ombré gradation. I could see bumps on my nails and they seemed kind of thick but I didn't want to cause a scene. I kind of wish I had. Y'all I really went to this nail shop and she took all my eyebrows off! I asked this lady if she did good brows before she did them! I stressed how important this weekend was to me and she really misshaped and thinned my brows when I only asked for a clean up! She was legit ON THE PHONE while she was doing my brows. I am going to put a picture of what I asked for vs what I got so everyone can see what a disgrace this place is. I really tried to give the place a few chances but the last time went was my last straw. I get an overlay on my big toes and I asked for square shaped which I had to ask for several times and even when the young lady did it, it still wasn't up to my standards. Two different women worked on my nails. The first one tried to gaslight me and say that they didn't have the nail tips that I wanted (the straight clear ones) and tried to make me get the opaque ones that curve which I did not want. Then I showed her a design and asked how much it would be for medium and she said $95... okay. I agreed to that price. When it was time to cut the tips she asked how long I wanted them and put the scissors on the tip, I told her I wanted them not even a millimeter longer and she said the length I wanted would be $100. And I repeated the price to her and looked at her because what she was saying was ridiculous and I wanted her to hear how crazy she sounded. Then she said okay I'll just keep it that length for $95. Then when I showed her the design I wanted again, she said that it would be $15 extra due to the glitter on the nails that she "didn't see" so instead of my nails being $95 they would be $110, just to add glitter... I agreed to it because I knew what I wanted and my birthday was in two days so I was like okay whatever. I asked for square nails and the shape she did was HORRIBLE. Another lady had to do my design and she was looking at the shape of my nails trying to figure out what was going on and I was just thinking same sis! I only wanted glitter on the white part of my nails but there is still glitter on other parts of my nails. I am very dissatisfied with my nails. I have gotten my nails done hundreds of times so I know how they're supposed to look. I am from Houston and it's hard to find a good nail shop/ nail tech. I am just going to order press ons from now on. If I would have gotten the same exact thing I got in Houston, it would have been about $80 FLAT and it would have been so much better. I am 6 months pregnant and I was in the nail shop on the verge of tears because trying to communicate with them was so frustrating. For $110 I should be IN LOVE with my nails and that is not the case. Don't waste your time by coming here. They are overcharged and the work is not up to par. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. The man made multiple errors and when I asked him to correct them he had an attitude. I don't think asking him to make sure my mail wasn't slanted was being difficult, perhaps I'm wrong. He filed away my skin on multiple fingers and they have been burning the entire evening. At one point when I noticed the polish was uneven he gave an exasperated sigh and began drilling so hard HE SLICED MY FINGER. At this point I just wanted him to wrap it up so I could get to another salon to fix this. When you first look at them they look fine but, the devil is in the details and this place is not up to par. I asked for a nude nail with an outline of french tip. They did no cuticle care, my nail tip was not attached to my actual hair and there was gap between by nail and the acrylic. There was nail glue left everywhere around my nails and when I explained the issues and that had told me my nails would be 45 and then charged my card for 70 they yelled and told us that that's what they do. so if you want crappy nails that aren't attached, crooked nails, crappy service, glue left everywhere, and no cuticle care that's what you can expect from them. read more
