When I arrived I set with one tech and due to the fact she had an appointment come in, I was sent to Bell. Bell was awesome, I love the way she did my nails. She said she has 10 years of experience. My daughter and I came in planning to both get manicures and pedicures before her junior prom. When we arrived, there wasn't much communication from the staff, and we ended up sitting and waiting much longer than expected without anyone explaining the process or checking in with us. By the time someone finally approached us, I decided to let my daughter be seen first while I left to take care of other errands. While I was away, the nail technician told my daughter that acrylics needed to be applied to all of her toenails in order to complete the design she wanted. As a teenager, she didn't realize the additional cost or fully understand what was being done, and no one contacted me to discuss the changes or pricing beforehand. When I returned, I was shocked that the total came to about $265. For that price, I expected exceptional work. Unfortunately, the final result looked nothing like the inspiration photo my daughter had shown, and to make matters worse, the acrylic toenails began coming off the very next day. The polish on her fingernails also started chipping within two days. To the salon's credit, when we returned, the manager handled the situation professionally. She apologized, asked to see the inspiration photo, took pictures of my daughter's nails, acknowledged that they did not resemble what had been requested, and expressed that she was sorry for the outcome. I appreciated her professionalism and willingness to listen. My biggest concerns were the lack of communication, the failure to discuss significant additional charges with a parent before performing the service, and the poor quality considering the extremely high price. Based on our experience, I wouldn't return or recommend this salon, especially for special occasions where quality and clear communication are so important. My wife spent almost $200 for her hands and feet. 5 of her toe nail came off out of 10 within couple days.she reached to the nail tech and she was a totally different person but she offered to re paint. When she went back the nail tech treated her with a totally different attitude... A day later, she has some infection on her nail bud, she tried to call the store and whoever answered said manager is not here and hung up. Wife took a second to calmed down and call back. I was very disappointed with my experience. The prices listed online definitely didn't match what I was charged when it came time to pay. I went in for a full set and a pedicure with Maria, and my total came to **$199**. Unfortunately, the quality didn't match the price. I've already had several issues with my nails, and there isn't even polish covering the sides of some of them. For what I paid, I expected much better attention to detail. In my opinion, this salon wasn't worth the money. If you're willing to make a short drive, I highly recommend Anna at Daisy's Nails in Leonardtown. She always does a phenomenal job. I usually go to her, but since she's been away for the past month, I decided to try somewhere new. That definitely won't happen again. Very disappointed. To make matters worse, when I called to have the polish fixed, I was told that because Maria did my nails, I would have to wait until she returned to the salon. I don't understand why I should have to wait several days to have an obvious issue corrected. If I'm paying nearly $200 at a nail salon, I expect any qualified technician to be able to fix an employee's mistake. I shouldn't have to wait days for a simple correction. I went in for a pedicure. The next day, I realized he did not paint my entire toe. There was a piece missing from the corner. When I returned a week later, they told me that he was the one that had to fix it. When he finished his client, he took the person right next to me and didn't even acknowledge me. I explained I had an event to go to but they said come back the next day because the technician went home sick. I talked to the manager and tried to get her to fix the one nail because I had an event but she refused then hung up on me. Terrible management and customer service. I initially left a positive review because I was happy with how my nails looked when I left the salon. Unfortunately, my experience after the appointment was extremely disappointing. After my pedicure, my big toe became painful and started bleeding around the nail. Within a week, the gel polish completely came off 5 toenails. I have had gel pedicures many times before and have never had this happen. I contacted the salon and returned to have the issues addressed. During that visit, I felt rushed and did not feel that my concerns were being taken seriously. I repeatedly tried to explain what was happening, but I felt like no one was really listening. Shortly after the correction appointment, my thumb became red, swollen, warm, itchy, painful, and started throbbing. The condition worsened and eventually developed pus, requiring a visit to urgent care. I have photos documenting the progression and records from my medical visit. I was also concerned about sanitation. During my appointment, I noticed the liner on the soaking tub had not been changed. When I requested that it be replaced, my concern was dismissed and ignored. What disappointed me most was how the situation was handled afterward. I spent several days trying to speak with management. When I finally got through, the manager would not discuss my concerns directly and handed the phone back to the nail technician. Despite the toe injury, the gel polish failure, the urgent care visit, and my repeated attempts to resolve the matter professionally, I was denied a refund. The salon's response focused on me wanting a different nail color. My concerns were never about the color. My concerns were the painful toe injury, the gel polish coming off multiple toenails within days, the thumb infection that required urgent care, and the lack of accountability afterward. I am sharing my experience so other customers can make an informed decision. Based on the quality of the service, the sanitation concerns, the medical issues that followed, and the way my concerns were handled, I cannot recommend this salon. read more

Today I'm leaving the salon with a beautiful pedicure but with my fingernails absolutely ruined!! I came to this establishment for the first time ever and was actually enjoying the service until it was time for me to get my fingernails done. The guy that works there was in a rush to take off my nails that he chopped my fingernails down to the nail bed!! That shit hurt!! I tell him that it hurts but he still continues to rush to remove my nails. Once he's done I realize that my nails are bleeding!! I tell him to stop so that I can wash my hands to prevent infection and tell him to cancel my service. But trust and believe me!! If I get an infection from this, I will be seeing this business in court!!! So now, my fingernails are unfinished, HURTING, and look ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS thanks to this salon. Now I have to wait for my nails to heal and recover until I can get my nails done again. Mind you my nails were still nice before I came here and could've just held on longer if I knew my nails would end up like this. I was happy that I was able to find a new nail salon during the first half of my service but now I will never come back here again and I will be telling my friends and family to never come here. I DIDN'T EVEN GET A APOLOGY OR DISCOUNT. Just some awkward ass smiles. So yeah, thanks a lot for ruining my nails! The service was very lackluster. During my basic manicure, I didn't receive a hand massage or any lotion. For the basic pedicure, the technician left lotion on my legs and feet and mentioned she'd fix it later, but I ended up wiping it off myself. The overall vibe of the salon was nice and relaxing, though. read more

My Technician is Jackie and I've been going to her for several years. She's the best. Her manicures and pedicures are the bomb.. She's very thorough and the best in the business . First visit to this establishment, requested a Dip manicure. On one hand my old dip was soaked off as it should have been by the nail tech Alina,the other hand a make tech used a fake nail and attempted to remove the old dip powder, literally destroying what nail I had left on my hand. I was going to cut them down anyway however maybe not that short, but ok. Walked out of salon feeling ok. Today (next day) the top coat is peeling off of 5 nails, I have never experienced this. MK Nails & Spa is hands down the cheapest, most disappointing salon I've ever been to, and I don't mean "cheap" in price -- I mean cheap in quality, products, and effort. The work looks rushed, the materials feel low-grade, and there's zero attention to detail or customer care. My daughter and I got the $55 pedicures by John and Bell (I think that's her name). The staff was so friendly and these had to be the best pedicures we've ever had. It felt like we were walking on clouds when we left! My feet are soft as ever and they truly took their time to complete the service. Loved the attention to detail and I never felt rushed. VERY limited staff that speak/understand any English. Different tech for BASIC medi & pedi. Seriously doubt either are licensed by state of MD/VA. Rec'd BASIC medi & pedi. No hand massage & no lotion. Shop has no HOT water to wash hands. Tech had to go to back to get hot water for the medi bowl. Worst cuticle work ever!
