JM Kitchen & Bath Design - painted damage cabinet

Poor workmanship, lack of follow through, promises not kept, and the never ending ignored phone calls, texts and emails. There has been one bright light throughout this entire experience: JM Kitchen and Bath. (more specifically, Juli Dunlap) From our initial phone call followed very quickly by our meeting at my house, I was comforted by the woman I now call "Juli, full of grace". She spent hours at that first meeting asking questions about how each space was to be used, my lifestyle, my time-line, my budget. Questions I hadn't asked myself, but were critical for my complete satisfaction with design and function. As far as budget went, I was very vague. When, a very short time later, Juli presented her first proposals and beautiful drawings, I was surprised by the details in the plans that she captured based on our initial meeting. I was in love with everything. Except the cost. And I wanted to give up nothing, as every detail was so special. Nonetheless, Juli went back to the drawing board and came up with magic! I barely noticed the differences. My kitchen and bathrooms were installed last week. I am thrilled. Additional kudos for Juli's partners Joel and their installer,Kris. If you're still reading this tome, I would like to mention all of the support and wisdom that Juli shared with me throughout the demolition and reconstruction of my home...and not just my kitchen, baths and fireplaces. Her eye for design, her contacts, her hand-holding, her empathy...all treasured, and never to be forgotten. Words are difficult to find for this 64 year old woman who wishes to express my infinite love and gratitude to Juli and JM Kitchen and Bath. You would be wise to trust them fully with your home. They tread lightly, are honest, trustworthy, and excellent at their craft. They care. Who could ask for more?

The installer nor did Christine at JM Kitchen and Bath tell us that the cabinets were damaged. I found the damage once I did an inspection. I texted Christine photos of the damage about a week after they were installed in June 2025. I had to text her several more times before they sent a repair man to our house in May 2026. Ten months after they were installed. The cabinets had chunks missing and a screw popping through. The repair man said he could only paint them. I asked if JM Kitchen and Bath had provided him with the color and he said no. All he did was spray paint our cabinets the closest color he had. So, our cabinets are still damaged, and the damaged cabinets are the wrong color. We also had cabinets in which the paint comes off when we clean it with warm water and a microfiber cloth, which is what the manufacturer suggests. I have provided JM Kitchen and Bath with photos and videos showing the paint coming off when we clean the cabinets. After months of Christine coming up with every excuse in the book as to why it was happening, they finally came out and sent a cabinet face to the manufacturer. The manufacturer actually said there was no issue. JM Kitchen and Bath dropped the cabinet face off to our house. I took a video of myself removing the cabinet face from the box, cleaning it with warm water and a microfiber cloth. The cloth clearly showed the paint coming off when we cleaned it. There is absolutely no doubt that paint is coming off when we clean it. I emailed photos and videos to Christine, but she did not even bother responding. This company will not honor their warranty. Neither will the manufacturer Chrystal Cabinet Works. I have text messages, emails, photos and videos that prove everything I have said is 100% accurate.

We went with Kitchens on Broadway after receiving a glowing recommendation from neighbors who had a great experience. Unfortunately, we later discovered that the designer they worked with had left the company, along with several other senior designers. We skipped doing our own homework and ended up regretting it. We paid a $1,200 design fee, and after six months--only after we had repeatedly asked for our money back--we finally received renderings and a layout that essentially copied a design we had already created ourselves using free online software and had provided to them three months earlier, so this was incredibly disappointing. Since then, we've done our own research and found several other reputable kitchen and bath designers in the Denver area who offer an initial design, budget estimate, and timeline before requiring any payment. Often being able to provide an initial design within 2 weeks. That level of transparency and professionalism made us realize how far off our experience here was. I strongly recommend doing your due diligence as there are better options out there.

So I looked online, and Floor & Decor had exactly what I wanted, on clearance! Woohoo! This is a GIGANTIC store. It seems to have literally EVERYTHING flooring that your heart could desire. I was enchanted by some of the tile. But I don't NEED any tile, so sadly passed it up. They have tile that looks like wood! And marble! I needed waterproof vinyl plank flooring to go over concrete, as apparently peel-and-stick requires a plywood base and is therefore more effort. The waterproof stuff is just click-and-lock, and can be cut with an X-acto knife. You can use 6-mil poly as a vapor barrier. This is for a small outbuilding, so 7 boxes should be sufficient. A very nice young man loaded the boxes onto a cart, and then put them into my car for me! Their prices seem very fair, although I just zeroed in on what I needed and didn't have time to fully explore the store. The tile selection seems vast. Best part: they're well-stocked, at least with what I bought. I'm fully confident that if I need another box, they'll have it in stock.
