FIRST TIME HERE AND WHAT A TREAT. loved it. Cute and dainty place. Nice decor. Comfortable seating. Extensive menu and drinks options. My friend and me also weren't rushed and able to take our time as we had some matters to discuss. Our waitress was very sweet and polite. But I did feel slightly obligated to press the added tip button when she ran my card on the machine right away. I usually like to take my time and add a fair amount which I'm comfortable with, but in any case, the service did deserve a gracious tip. I had the Rapunzel roll which was delicious. They have a ride variety of rolls and different dishes. I definitely am coming back soon and recommend Mito!

It's definitely a beautiful place that on the outside you would not guess looks like this or possessed this ambiance! The service was very efficient and the food was pretty enjoyable Now, if im being honest, I would definitely come back for a celebration or date night but is not your casual spot to satisfy your actual sushi cravings, is more of a slow dinner kind of situation!

Ordered for delivery. Well packaged. The Kani Salad on the dryer side (barely any sauce), but had lots of fresh cucumbers and imitation crab. It could definitely use more sauce, since I mostly just taste the imitation crab. The Rock Shrimp was also light on sauce, but the batter holds up. Shrimp is cooked well. It came with a side of plain salad, which makes it feel even dryer. Maybe get some ginger dressing on the side. The Pork and Chicken Gyoza (Steamed) doesn't travel that well. I image it would be better fresh, as the wrapper is thin. Good porky filling. The Any 3 Maki Roll combo was a good deal. The maki rolls do not have too much rice, which I like, though the rice is a bit chewy as it does not have much vinegar. Feels more like regular rice than sushi rice. The seafood is fresh and decent quality. I went with Tuna, Salmon, and Shrimp Avocado (which was more avocado than shrimp). Overall a little pricey for what you get, and the food was on the blander side. I'd rather get my sushi elsewhere.

3.5 really. Went for restaurant week. What a great value. I think I ordered wrong... should have stuck to the sushi. I went for lunch. The portions are very generous. I got the fried rice with the tuna tartar and truffle. It was yummy, with a very subtle truffle scent. The rice balls were significantly larger than the amount of tuna on top. With that said, it was still delicious. The Mongolian beef was only slightly better than that you would get at a fat food Chinese store... so don't be like me, order something that makes more sense. The fried red snapper was surpassing as it was many filets of fish. They were well cooked, but overpowered by the sauce, which was just okay. The millet had citrus in it, so i personally wasn't a fan. The lava cake was good. The meal also came with a glass of house wine. Infective Incredible value, great quantity, I will go back and actually order sushi..

Decent spot for sushi maki lunch and bento boxes. My eel avocado was tasty but a little skimpy on the fish. The salmon and yellowtail was good. The tuna could be better. The bento boxes was great. I liked both the hibachi salmon and the teriyaki salmon. Portions are not bad, and I liked both that it came with mini cheese cake bites for dessert.

Nice setting and good food. Nicely decorated dining room in an open space. Interesting decor made for lots of looking around. Service wasn't amazing but it was good. Everyone was friendly and responsive when we asked. Food was very good. Tartare three ways was excellent, one of my favorite dishes in a while. And it is a unique way of presenting tartare. Sushi four ways: salmon was another interesting and great dish. Nice to have four different preparations of my preferred fish instead of some I like and some I don't. For dessert the warm chocolate cake was nice, very rich and tasty, but dessert is t the strongest dishes here.

it has been a while since I came here and I did not remember what I loved about the place. So, I just ordered with my heart and I wound up ordering the same things. I ordered six years ago when I used to come here all the time with an ex boyfriend. We got the lobster guacamole with scallion pancake as an appetizer. We also ordered a side of chips to go with it. This is such a delicious thing. It's worth a trip to this restaurant just for this appetizer. I was driving and my friend ordered a drink. I took one sip of it just to see what it tasted like. It was so yummy. It was their version of an old-fashioned. A buttery old-fashioned. We ordered three rolls to share. We got a yellow tail scallion roll, a mango Hawaii roll and another roll that I forgot the title of, but it says something about the number four. Everything was really delicious. We really loved loved loved that mango Hawaii roll. Simple perfection. I will definitely be coming back real soon. The place is beautiful and the staff is excellent. Our waitress Maggie was perfect. She was helpful and very nice. What a great experience all around. We left with big smiles and were very very satisfied.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Mito. The staff greeted us immediately when we arrived and our waitress was quite attentive, which we appreciated. The vibe and atmosphere was great for a date night, special occasion or a family dinner. The drinks were very tasty. I had a coconut cocktail (I can't remember the name), which was DELICIOUS!! Regarding food we had the following things: rock shrimp tempura, petit filet mignon, black diamond roll with foie gras, bluefin tuna crudo, black truffle wagyu fried rice, scallop truffle canapes, miso sea bass in pumpkin puree and green tea crepe cake for dessert. We especially loved the petit filet mignon, black diamond roll with foie gras, and bluefin tuna crudo. The reason I dropped a star in my rating is due to a couple of the plates were slightly disappointing. We did not think the pumpkin puree went well with the miso sea bass. We would've preferred the dish without the puree. We thought the wagyu fried rice was a little lackluster. And, I've had better green tea crepe cakes elsewhere. This cake was a little denser than I expected. In any case, we really enjoyed our experience overall and plan to come back to try out more of Mito's menu.

I've been past this place several times & finally decided to give it a try. First time around , Drinks I had a Lychee Martini, hubby a Coconut saketini both very good nice & strong. We started with the Scallion pancakes they were so good we also had a Mito roll this was great. Main meal we tried Petite filet & the Mongolian chicken , both very good nice tasting steak as well as the chicken good tasting sauce. Next time around we came with some friends , Wonton soup was good .. on the Rolls Fantastic four, good combination. The seared tuna & shrimp tempura both good as well. Very good Mongolian beef & General Tao's chicken, good with the rice. Nice looking place, service was good & prices are reasonable, we enjoyed our time & meal here.

Mito is one of my favorite restaurant in Queens. The service and food is always consistent. The staff are always attentive and friendly also. One of the server Anna and the staff/management has made my visit to Mito more fun and meaningful because she remembers you and your family. She's always smiling and connecting with everyone. I would highly recommend the Chilean sea bass dish and the dear tuna roll. read more

If you're going to be charging $21 for this thai crispy chicken, you better be getting the chicken fresh from the farm. C'mon and how are you going to give this cheap sauce with it? I can find that at the grocery store or might as well go to the corner Chinese food take out than come here and overpay for this. Pretty sure your "king crab" roll is frozen and not worth being called king. You forgot the soy sauce too! Who forgets the soy sauce for sushi rolls??? read more

Mito Asian Fusion is a great place to eat if your in the mood for Asian food or sushi. The place was very appealing, it looks small from the outside but is a reasonable size and tables aren't located to close to each other. One thing I must say is that compared to other sushi places in Queens, it looked really nice on the inside. The food were reasonably priced and portions fit the price. I rated it four star because while the food was good it wasn't the best. Sushi was average and was quite similar to what I had at other places. Although friend of mine ordered the red snapper and it turned out to be really good, I recommend you to give that a try! Would recommend this place, if your in the mood for Asian food or sushi, definitely check it out! read more

"Pleasantly surprised" is an understatement. When my retired parents invite me to "Asian fusion" dinner on sleepy 108 Street in Forest Hills, I expect a small, kitschy family style restaurant more on the take-out side. Nope. Modern decor with a suspended boat centerpiece in the main dining area, dim lighting, and an actual sake menu. Food was equally impressive. Sure, it's more expensive than what you expect to pay on 108 Street, but the food quality's also better than what you expect from the area. Apps are a bit on the small side, but most of the cooked entrees we got (Mongolian chicken, hibachi combos) were very generously portioned. The sushi entrees were just enough.. Which I guess is OK, because not like you'd want to doggy bag sushi anyway. The happy hr is also pretty good. Cocktails aren't particularly inspired, but they are fairly priced at $11. Only "complaint" is the odd placement of the bathrooms smack dab in the middle of the servers' path. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would! read more

This restaurant is a good find and will be my new go to sushi restaurant in the area. Prices are reasonable, food is delicious, menu is extensive, full bar, and the decor greatly sets it apart; it is intimate, chic, spacious, and clean. Whoever decorated this place should get a pat on the back. Their special sushi roll menu is original and creative; I enjoyed the hot mama and jalapeno yellowtail rolls especially. The 108th street roll deserves a taste as well. Tom yum soup could've been more flavorful. Short-ribs were pretty good. I can't wait to try their other menu items. Good atmosphere, attentive service, extensive menu, and above average food earn this restaurant 4 stars. I would definitely return when I don't want to travel too far for good Asian fusion food. This restaurant is a hidden gem. read more

Very cozy place . I was there with my date:) the decor is elegant and pleasing. The service was good . Their menu is interesting , not like in regular sushi place. I had Hot mama special roll- OMG ! It was super delicious and not too spicy. We both had miso soup( $2) it was also good and I like the soup bowls . I def will be back to try something else from their menu . May be even with the same guy:) read more

If there is something I could eat everyday for my entire life, it would be sushi. I went to Mito quite often throughout July-September, their spicy tuna roll is hands down my favorite spicy tuna roll of all the restaurants I've been to. A common issue I've come across with sushi places that are busy or can get busy, are sloppy rolls~ I've never had one sloppy roll from Mito and I've been there on a Friday night for dinner and I was with a group of 4! The staff is so kind and never rush you regardless of how busy they are. So they get 5 stars from me :) (I also want to note how much I love their chopsticks, weird, but they have some of the coolest chopsticks I've seen at a sushi spot!) read more

Wonderful place! Went here for Valentine's Day and had a great time. The atmosphere was perfect for date night and the restaurant itself is very cute. I got a rose, which I thought was an extra sweet touch. The food was really good, although the mango chicken was a bit too soft for my liking. My bf really enjoyed the crispy duck and calamari. Might not get the indian pancake next time as it's a bit too oily. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and I will definitely eat there again! read more

Great new place in forest hills to enjoy some Asian cuisine.! The menu had a lot of sushi to choose from with plenty of options. Main course was delicious ! We ordered the hibachi. Great service! Happy hour 4-7 pm. The mitotini was tasty as was the ginger lychee martini. Sushi rolls were fresh and delicious and perfect for happy hour. I ordered sushi rolls from this restaurant thinking they were just going to be ok and boy was I wrong! This sushi exceeded my expectations. During this COVID situation it was a pleasant surprise. I ordered an avocado roll, spicy scallop and a yellow tail roll. In addition I got one of the specialty rolls - Golden State and I have to say I'm hooked. If you like mango and shrimp, you will love this one. Definitely will be ordering a sushi delivery again and I plan to try different specialty rolls next time. read more

This place has great happy hour (including Fridays and Saturdays until 7pm!!! Whhaaaaattt?!!) We live around the area and decided to give it a shot after looking through the Yelp community! Accurately so, 4 stars is definitely appropriate! Their chicken wings and sushi rolls were delicious with quick execution. We will definitely be back! read more

Love the decor and the ambience of this Japanese place in forest hill. It's very lounge like and upscale like many other reviews stated. A nice bar right by the entrance. Th decor consists of empty beer and wine bottles nicely hung together. In addition there's a kayak hung right above the dining area. Waitresses were super friendly and helpful. We had brought along our 11 months old baby and the waitress helped us heat up our home brought baby food. Happy hour also on a Saturday which is good. Food and the pricing was ok. read more

I have been wanting to review this place for a while now! This place is so so good! Their filet mignon hibachi is so tender, flavorful and yummy! So is all their other hibachi choices. I love their Mongolian Beef! So satisfying! You can't go there and not order their spicy tuna & avocado balls (it has a legit name but that's what I call it). The one manager who's always there is very nice. So is all the staff. Friendly and funny. Super Good! read more

Delicious food. Have eaten here few times. It has one of the best outdoor sitting in the area. Good experience. Once decided to have a takeout. Along with other food we had ordered three kinds of different rolls. They packed all the rolls in one container. each individual person had ordered what they wanted and expected it in a different container. So if you want your rolls to be packed separately please let them know when you order. read more

I love this restaurant. Not only is the food good but the drinks are pretty good to. But because of COVID you can only dine outside. When the weather is permitted. Chicken pad Thai is amazing which is my always go to. It can get a bit pricey. read more

Went here for dinner and overall it was just fine. The prices were a little higher than I expected. I ordered a whole bunch of the standard rolls and a salmon platter. The sushi was average and while the salmon sashimi was great the rest was below average. Not a great choice check out A sushi on Austin. read more

They were amazing when they first opened and for a few months following. However their quality of food and service has hit a serious decline. For the prices they are charging you'd expect better. 5 stars for ambiance 3 for service And 1 for quality of food. read more

I live just a few blocks away from Mito, and it's a wonderful restaurant to have in our own neighborhood. We don't ever have to go far for some delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. the ambiance is beautiful and their sushi is some of the freshest I have ever had. The staff are always wonderful to us. As for the service, I think everyone was pleasant but the vibes were a little off, it seems like they were just very exhausted. This doesn't affect the quality of the food or the experience but it was just something I noticed. They were still very attentive and provided great service. The reason for the one star off is because I do wish the Hako sushi had a bit more flavor, I saw so many different ingredients and fish but none of the flavors were impactful, it was rather one dimensional which was disappointing because it was presented so beautifully. Overall, I recommend giving Izakaya nana a try and I would definitely go again to try other things.
