If I could give zero stars I would. I had been going to Mitch for 15 years because I thought he was trustworthy and a good person. Boy was I wrong. I drove all the way from Las Vegas to have him fix my check engine light on my car so that I could get a smog check and after I picked the car back up and drove all the way back to Vegas my check engine light came back on. When I called him to let him know this I got a vague response and he did not take any responsibility or say he was sorry for the inconvenience. He told me to drive it back out because he must of gotten a faulty part from the dealership, ( cause it couldn't have been his fault). I drove my car all the way out to CA again to get this so called faulty part replaced and sure enough once I drove it all the way back to Vegas the light came on again. When I called him about this the second time he again was not apologetic and did not take ownership on the fact that he simply did not know what was wrong with my car, how to fix it, and charged me $1200 for a car that I still did not have fixed. Instead of instantly offering me my money back he said I needed to bring it out again to have a friend of his check it out. He thought now it was a computer problem. Did I mention that when he first fixed it he said it was an evap canister that cost $600 + tax just for the part itself. Quite an expensive experiment out of my pocket. After all of this back and forth, gas for me to drive out ,and two days of rental car costs, not to mention me giving up my time off work to deal with this he still did not take ownership, say he was sorry and offer my money back. I finally decided to take it to someone in Vegas and within 5 minutes of them hooking up a piece of equipment they were able to tell me what the real problem with my car was, and it had nothing to do with what Mitch charged me for. When I called Mitch to tell him this he again tried to squirm to make excuses in why he did the work he did. He still said I needed the expensive part, which did not get my check engine light off, and the other mechanic assured me I did not and that Mitch was being shady. Now after all of my time and trouble and now the recognition that Mitch didn't know what he was doing and the fact that I had known him for 15 years you would think he would have done the right thing and offered me my money back and a major apology, but he did not and still just tried to limit the cost to him and wanted to just get my car fixed by someone else that he would contribute to paying for. After 2 months of dealing with this, paying for a part I did not need, and gas and rental cars, and finding a place to stay while in CA and still having a car not fixed I needed my money back. When I told him that I expected $700 back off the $1200 faulty job, not to mention the $60 I spent on a second opinion, the $200 driving back and forth twice, the $85 for rental cars for 2 days he was not willing to give it. Can you believe that? If I had messed up that bad on someones job and they went through all that trouble not only once, but twice would you really insult them by not giving a fair amount of their money back? I just want to warn any of you thinking of going to him for repair work that he is not a good person or business man. He knows he screwed up and even told me that he had the equipment the other guy had who diagnosed the real issue with my car. I said to him, well then why didn't you hook it up to double check your work after you put the new expensive part in and before I drove all the way back to Vegas not only once but twice, and he had no answer. He is incompetent, does not do good work, and is not honest when he messes up. Please avoid any hassle you may have in the future because he will not do the right thing. If he could do this to someone he has known for 15 years imagine how he would treat you in the same situation. read more
