I was packing my car up around 10pm at night when my windshield shattered. I didn't know who to…read morecall until I saw DC EMERGENCY GLASS REPAIR in my search. I gave them a call. Fortunately, they're open 24/7. No one answered, so I called again. Someone picked up immediately. I told them I needed an emergency repair for a Hyundai Santa Fe windshield (asap). Unfortunately, they did not have the glass ready in their shop but they were able to place an order that night for pick up the next day. I was told the glass would arrive around noon, then a technician would come out to complete the service between 12-3 pm. He would install the new windshield and clean up the glass. What a relief! The next morning, I called to confirm the service and was assured a repairman would come out to my address that afternoon. Around 2:30, I still hadn't received a call from them. I called again and asked if someone was coming. Sure enough, he was coming... at 3:30-4pm. He shows up, starts manhandling my windshield and the loose glass. He installs the new windshield and leaves all the glass in my trunk and in the street, so I asked him to clean it (as I was promised). He didn't even have a broom or a vacuum! I gave him my dust pan and a broom so he could sweep up the glass from my car. The glass remained on the street and he told me he was heading out. I received the bill - about $400 for the windshield with tax and fees. Argh! Repairman was friendly but I wasn't too impressed with his clean up. Spent extra time sweeping the rest of my car and the street after he left. Great solution for a quick fix, kinda pricey and not the best customer service! LOL

He had the necessary parts in his truck, he tried a few different solutions until he found the one he deemed best, and he repaired a few other issues he noticed. He was responsive, professional, efficient, and effective. I did not experience this level of service from other glass businesses I called that refused the work because they were not the original installers of the glass. I found Old Town Glass and Window via my internet search for local service providers in Arlington. What a delightful business: prompt response on initial phone inquiry; fast appointment at my house to do the estimate; clear communication on the wait for a special order glass panel; and...eight days later, I have a beautiful new window. I left my car and key for them, came home from work and it was finished. No distorted glass, it appears to be OEM or high quality aftermarket. The price was also cheaper than expected, especially for the mobile service. Worth every penny, can't recommend them more. One small note, my windshield wiper cowling rubber trim was brittle. It absolutely isn't their responsibility to fix this. But, the installation required them to remove this cowling and the rubber crumbled. In hindsight, I should have bought a new cowling trim and left it inside for the installer. Make sure to check any trim/panels near the windshield and order new ones beforehand.
