My husband was craving Neapolitan style pizza, so we walked around to find a pizzeria. We found Mister Pizza, which happened to be very close to our hotel. Not going to lie, I was a little bit worried about Mister Pizza being a tourist trap since it was right by the Duomo in Santa Maria Novella Piazza. I even noticed on the menu that they catered to specific dietary preferences such as gluten-free crust and dairy-free cheese. But hey, this was one of the few places I have seen that made a lot of accommodations. We arrived around 8:30pm on a Monday night. The place was busy, but it appeared that people hanging around the entry way were really there for to-go orders. We were able to sit outside with views of the Duomo. Service was fine. Servers were quick and attentive, but the food took a while to come out. That said, the deliciousness of my pizza made up for it. I ordered the quattro formagi and requested it to come with marinara instead of white sauce. I was asked if I wanted burrata, but I didn't realize that it was an upsell. I thought it was going to be in place of the mozzarella, so I technically had 5 kinds of cheeses. My husband and I loved our respective pizzas. I especially enjoyed the bursts of gorgonzola and parmesan that added bursts of unique flavor. The fresh creaminess of the burrata made for a nice pairing with the edge of the crust. Speaking of the crust, it was doughy and fluffy with air pockets. One of the best crusts on a pizza. read more

Located near major landmarks and open late, so it's very convenient. Waited a little while since they had one cashier and two cooks, but it was also very late a night/early morning. Unfortunately, my partner ordered a pepperoni pizza which wasn't on the menu after I urged him to pick something from the actual menu. It was still good and fresh. The wine was good, too! An understandably slightly pricier option for the area. read more

This was hands down the best pizza I've ever had, or will have in my entire life! Don't let the name fool you! This is as authentic as it gets! They cut the pies with scissors and you can drizzle chili oil on your pie to taste. It's right next to 'Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore' so many tourists frequent this location, but it's worth it. read more

Best pizza we had in Italy! It is located right next to the Duomo which is so convenient if you want to get lunch before or after sightseeing. We got the Siciliana (mozzarella bites, apulian burrata stracciatella, mortadella with sicilian pistachio, soft sicilian pistachio cream) and the Rustica Piccante (Tomatoes, mozzarella bites, traditional spicy salami, fresh green basil) and it was so hard to decide which one was better of the two. I still dream about the Siciliana and its various textures and flavors of the soft mozzarella, mortadella and pistachio cream. We had reservations for 11:30 and so glad we did because this place got packed quickly! The servers could be more warm and friendly. read more

Very conveniently located next to the Duomo with indoor and outdoor seating options. We got a late dinner of 3 pizzas for takeout and had to wait a long time for our order. The pizzas were good! We tried 3 different kinds and all were flavorful and tasted very fresh. Lots of options here and the prices were reasonable except for the Private Collection pizzas were more than double of the other ones. read more

this place was still pretty good, just not quite as tasty or welcoming as most of the places i visited in tuscany. but also the servers presumably have a lot more stress working right next to the duomo, and all the tourists that come with it. it was pretty cool to eat a meal right next to such a historic cathedral and their celiac-safe pizza was still better than most of the gluten-free pizzas in the United States read more

After a long day of doing tourist stuff, we got back to the hotel hungry around 9:30. We don't eat dairy so we looked for any places close to the hotel that had vegan options. This one fit the bill and was an 8 minute walk. We got the wheat sourdough crust, with cherry tomatoes and basil. Wow! Super delicious and the staff was really friendly. Pizza came out fast and we all chowed down. So good....loved it. Any fellow vegans in the area should stop by and give it a go! read more

**DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS** Food was okay, nothing great. We went there because my wife is lactose intolerant and were told we could get lactose free options there for our honeymoon. When ordering my wife asked at least 10 times about making sure it's lactose free and ordering the lactose free options. We get almost half way through the meal and our server tells us that he never entered the lactose free options and we had been eating the dairy/lactose included options. He brought us to his manager who then made us pay for the rest of the meal. We had to promptly leave because she is extremely intolerant and it leads to several hours locked in the bathroom. The manager then offered us a $10 gift card. Why would we come back if they can't listen to dietary restrictions that were disclosed when ordered and they even read back the restrictions to us. read more

Yes, this is about as touristy as you can get but the pizza was decent with a crispy base and some nice blackened spots on the crust. Menus in multiple languages and I we had no problem ordering in English. I heard one waitress helping her customers in Russian so anything is possible. Our orders (two pizzas, one beer, one Coke) were accurate and reasonably priced. The pizzas were cooked properly and came out quickly. Tables turn over fast so if there's a queue, be patient. read more

The servers and the service was very good. They were very quick with their service and very kind. But the pizza was horrible. We ordered a pizza with truffle, but we don't know if it was actually truffle. And the sauce slipped off the pizza as we picked it up because it was so watered down. It was the soggy pizza we may have ever had. But the crust was good. read more

I was so looking forward to eating here especially since I read so many good gluten free reviews. I have to say I was not impressed with the crust at all. It was super hard, crunchy and not light and fluffy like other gluten free I've had since being in Italy. They do have lactose free and vegan cheese options. Menu is marked gluten free. The best gluten free pizza we had in all of Italy! Hands down the best crust. Gluten free beer and desserts are also available.

Mr. Pizza was recommended to us by a co-worker. She actually told us she still dreamt about her pizza from Mr. Pizza so we decided to try it. We had originally planned to dine there for lunch but arrived for dinner after a day trip to several different towns. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to get a table inside the restaurant. Those who had a reservation were able to dine outside. I would recommend making a reservation for outside because you can sit outside and listen to the music floating through the air. I ordered a pugliese pizza and it was absolutely delicious! My husband ordered a verdissima al profumi dell'orto pizza. He enjoyed his but preferred a pizza he had at another restaurant. The main issue with his pizza was there was a lot of arugula on it. If you aren't a huge fan of arugula, I would avoid this pizza. The waiting staff are all very attentive. We enjoyed this meal and would recommend trying it if you are in the area. read more

We were looking for some nice takeaway on our last night in Florence and saw some people eating what looked like delicious pizzas on a bench outside the duomo. Their boxes let us know that the food was from Mister Pizza a few steps away. We stopped in and the staff were all lovely. It has a slight chain restaurant feel here but that's not really my concern when I have a late night pizza craving and it's one of the only spots open for pizza till 4am. It's so modern inside compared to the centuries old Duomo it's facing and it's interesting how Firenze has evolved over the years and maintains a nice blend of modern and ancient landmarks. There's an automatic sliding glass door that opens for you as you walk in, you know, like a supermarket. I thought that was kind of interesting for a pizza spot. There's plenty of seating, a decently clean bathroom, and WiFi if you need it. Staff is nice, they get you what you need, pies are made fast, and you're served quickly. They also speak English. It's super cheap to dine in and you can get a pie and a glass of wine for only €12. They did a nice thing for some of us non-Italians and allow us to do take-out (how kind!). I always dine in here and prefer to stay and eat. The pizza is good, not spectacular-- but again, my expectations aren't high for this type of place. The crust is good but I do feel there's a lot more bread than sauce and toppings. I'm a gal from the land of 'deep dish pizza' so I usually eat ALL my crust, but this was a a lot of bread, even for me. I had to leave some bread behind because it felt like they were skimping on ingredients. The little mozzarella, mushrooms, and sauce on the pie was good, I just wish there was more of it. No, it's not ideal to come to Italy and have vegan pizza when 'the real deal' is much more satisfying, but at least they have the option for those who can't do cheese/dairy. The vegan cheese tastes great and melts really well in a dairy cheesy way that many vegan cheeses simply cannot. They also have gluten free pie options, too. There's a couple wine and beer options. I was satisfied with their Chianti and it paired just fine with my pie. Overall: good pizza & wine/beer, good service, clean bathroom and WiFi, open late. Works for me! read more

After a nice, long nap before our tour of the Duomo, my husband and I went to lunch. I'm generally not a fan of pizza, but my husband insisted I should try real Italian pizza at least once. Long story short, it didn't change my mind. Still don't like pizza. We were immediately seated at Mister Pizza, one of the must-go spots in Florence, or so we were told. I was surprised we could get seats because of how bustling the plaza was. The pizza with mozzarella, tomato, mascarpone, bacon, and basil (8.5€) sounded good. I'm sure the ingredients were super fresh, but I wasn't blown away the same way I was with the pasta in Italy. Service was alright. The main perk is location. I'm glad we shared because I couldn't have eaten a whole one myself, nor would I have wanted to. read more
