We went there because my wife is lactose intolerant and were told we could get lactose free options there for our honeymoon. When ordering my wife asked at least 10 times about making sure it's lactose free and ordering the lactose free options. We get almost half way through the meal and our server tells us that he never entered the lactose free options and we had been eating the dairy/lactose included options. He brought us to his manager who then made us pay for the rest of the meal. We had to promptly leave because she is extremely intolerant and it leads to several hours locked in the bathroom. The manager then offered us a $10 gift card. Why would we come back if they can't listen to dietary restrictions that were disclosed when ordered and they even read back the restrictions to us. read more

Yes, this is about as touristy as you can get but the pizza was decent with a crispy base and some nice blackened spots on the crust. Menus in multiple languages and I we had no problem ordering in English. I heard one waitress helping her customers in Russian so anything is possible. Our orders (two pizzas, one beer, one Coke) were accurate and reasonably priced. The pizzas were cooked properly and came out quickly. Mr. Pizza was recommended to us by a co-worker. She actually told us she still dreamt about her pizza from Mr. Pizza so we decided to try it. We had originally planned to dine there for lunch but arrived for dinner after a day trip to several different towns. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to get a table inside the restaurant. Those who had a reservation were able to dine outside. I would recommend making a reservation for outside because you can sit outside and listen to the music floating through the air. I ordered a pugliese pizza and it was absolutely delicious! My husband ordered a verdissima al profumi dell'orto pizza. He enjoyed his but preferred a pizza he had at another restaurant. The main issue with his pizza was there was a lot of arugula on it. If you aren't a huge fan of arugula, I would avoid this pizza. The waiting staff are all very attentive. It has a slight chain restaurant feel here but that's not really my concern when I have a late night pizza craving and it's one of the only spots open for pizza till 4am. It's so modern inside compared to the centuries old Duomo it's facing and it's interesting how Firenze has evolved over the years and maintains a nice blend of modern and ancient landmarks. There's an automatic sliding glass door that opens for you as you walk in, you know, like a supermarket. I thought that was kind of interesting for a pizza spot. There's plenty of seating, a decently clean bathroom, and WiFi if you need it. Staff is nice, they get you what you need, pies are made fast, and you're served quickly. They also speak English. It's super cheap to dine in and you can get a pie and a glass of wine for only €12. They did a nice thing for some of us non-Italians and allow us to do take-out (how kind!). I always dine in here and prefer to stay and eat. The pizza is good, not spectacular-- but again, my expectations aren't high for this type of place. The crust is good but I do feel there's a lot more bread than sauce and toppings. I'm a gal from the land of 'deep dish pizza' so I usually eat ALL my crust, but this was a a lot of bread, even for me. I had to leave some bread behind because it felt like they were skimping on ingredients. The little mozzarella, mushrooms, and sauce on the pie was good, I just wish there was more of it. No, it's not ideal to come to Italy and have vegan pizza when 'the real deal' is much more satisfying, but at least they have the option for those who can't do cheese/dairy. The vegan cheese tastes great and melts really well in a dairy cheesy way that many vegan cheeses simply cannot. They also have gluten free pie options, too. There's a couple wine and beer options. I was satisfied with their Chianti and it paired just fine with my pie. Overall: good pizza & wine/beer, good service, clean bathroom and WiFi, open late. Works for me! read more

After a nice, long nap before our tour of the Duomo, my husband and I went to lunch. I'm generally not a fan of pizza, but my husband insisted I should try real Italian pizza at least once. Long story short, it didn't change my mind. Still don't like pizza. We were immediately seated at Mister Pizza, one of the must-go spots in Florence, or so we were told. I was surprised we could get seats because of how bustling the plaza was. The pizza with mozzarella, tomato, mascarpone, bacon, and basil (8.5€) sounded good.
