This place is amazing! I love the outward display of honoring our Military Branches and supports first responders of all branches with the various patches and memorabilia decorating the walls. It's awesome to see! The service was good. The food was a good size and flavorful. The my have various sauce bottles on the table which are labeled and give details of the heat level. I had the pulled chicken sandwich with cheesy potatoes. This potatoes were delish. I would say they are a a version of scalloped potatoes. The sandwhich comes plain but you add the sauce of your choice. My son ordered the brisket and pulled chicken with fries. It also came with cornbread. All in all it was my second time visiting this place and it didn't disappoint!

Overall: 5/5 Recommend: Yes, Yes, Yes! Return: Absolutely, in a heartbeat! Taste: 5/5 Tender soft brisket period! Quality: 5/5 Great brisket and excellent high quality black cherry soda Service: 5/5 Fast and efficient Value: 5/5 Great way to get a taste of excellent BBQ brisket at such affordable prices X-factor: 5/5 Way above-average setting for a fast casual like restaurant with both indoor and outdoor spaces. Six BBQ sauces to choose from, what's not to love!

The food here was absolutely scrumptious. I love that the servers are so hands-on when ordering. I did not know what I wanted to order and they recommended some of the best items. The cornbread was delicious, but not too sweet. The ribs were cooked to perfection and seasoned exceptionally. All of the sides were delicious as well. I love the diversity of the menu. I had never had their turkey before and it was a hit. I didn't have anything that I did not like. The desserts were huge. This is definitely some of the best barbecue that I've had in a long time. The restaurant was super clean, which was a plus. I also loved that they walked around with samples on the day that I visited. That was a great addition.

Always so many sauces to choose from and 2 buck brews!

The service here never disappoints and the meats are always spot on perfection. I like how they pay tribute to the military here as well as all the various ways to go about making a good bbq meal. The staff is very courteous here and can answer any questions you have about the various assortment of sauces and sandwiches or meat types. I like how their pulled pork is prepared in this region, so I typically go that direction when I order here. Coming from Texas, brisket is something we have locally that can't be matched, but they do it well here, too! They have a good selection for any type of regional bbq you'd like and you'll have a favorite in any of their great tasting meats.

I am a big fan of Mission BBQ! Over the years, I've been to several in and out of the area, but this is our first time at the Virginia Beach location. We met up with some friends here on a Friday evening around 6pm. They weren't really busy yet so we were able to score a big table. I opted for a side order of brisket and a garden green salad. Hubby ordered the brisket, green beans, baked beans and cornbread. Everything was delicious. We were able to sit outside and talk for a while in their patio area. Great place with a great cause!

I love barbecue and as a visitor to Virginia Beach for the first time we had such a great experience and meal here. The staff was so Attentive when we entered. It was hard to decide for 4 people What to have for lunch. We opted for 1/2 pound each of brisket, pork baby back ribs and pulled pork. For sides we opted for Mac and cheese, collard greens and cole slaw which each came with a small side the corn meal bread. The first think I noticed is that the brisket has a little steam of fat across the middle. But what I noticed the most was that the brisket was so moist and tender - just like how it was in Austin Texas. It was delicious! The pork ribs were fall off The gone tender and the pulled Pork was yummy. All the sides were Excellent. We had enough leftovers for 2 to enjoy lunch the next day. There was an employee named Beth and she took so good care of us! She brought us all the takeout containers and cutlery and sauces. One of each kind - 6 bbq sauces. We loved our experience and Beth made us feel right at home. I'll be certain to come back when I'm at Virginia Beach but this time get a pound of brisket!

This BBQ house celebrates the military and first responders with decorations throughout. It has benches at tables, booths and even high tables and chairs. It does have outside seating as well. The place is clean and organized. I ordered the 2 meat sampler plate with ribs and moist brisket. The brisket is very moist, and the meat on the ribs came off so easily. In addition, i had coleslaw and baked beans. There were at least 6 different sauces to choose from on your table. I chose the Texas Tangy. It wasn't too spicy, but you could taste the little kick. We got our orders in 3 or 4 minutes after ordering. They also had people cleaning the restaurant. So, if you are looking for some Texas BQ, then try the Mission BBQ, and you will be satisfied!

Amazing bbq place. Passed it while coming home from the outlet mall.looked up menu and said "yup gotta try it..." well I gotta say 100% must go again. Hot fresh bbq chicken & I got some nice bbq sausage .... Amazing. As you eat there's patches from all over world from police departments & military. Very nice place. In the area or make yourself to be in area. Well worth it!!! Got a free dessert as well for working in law enforcement. Thank you again btw....

I was so excited to try this place, specifically because I heard their brisket was amazing and they offer burnt ends, which are my FAVORITE (usually). Word of advice... don't get them. I ordered a two meat plate, with the brisket burnt ends and the jalapeño cheddar sausage. Neither of them were good, but the burnt ends were rock hard and flavorless. Literally inedible. I order burnt ends whenever I go to a quality BBQ restaurant and love that they are always tender with nice flavor and char. These seemed as if they had been sitting out, dry, for the whole day. It was even more disappointing because I watched them cut a new brisket as I ordered which looked tender and juicy and that is OBVIOUSLY not what I was served. The jalapeño cheddar sausage had potential, but also just seemed as though it had been sitting out for a very long time. It was dry. Sides were the best part. I got the mac and cheese which was quite good and the only reason I am leaving 2 stars instead of 1. The collard greens were decent, as well. Cornbread, another dry fail. Part of me would like to give this place another shot since the atmosphere was good, but I'm hesitant because prices weren't cheap.

Outstanding from door to door! Most amazing bbq, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Services is second to none. Military and first responder atmosphere is definitely appreciated by most. Super clean and welcoming. A must!

Top shelf - would get more business with better signage at the Norfolk Outlets location. Delicious meats, sides and lots of sauces to try.

    Is the salmon tasty?

Yes it is. Doesn't come with sides though.

You would never suspect the great atmosphere of this venue from the location. But the charm of the place really isn't the story. This is the kind of place that offers a gastro pub menu and they do not disappoint with a familiar yet unique menu offering some truly great dishes and perhaps the best burgers in VB. Definitely coming back.

We came here for Valentine's Day with a reservation for three (2 adults and a child). We were…read moregreeted warmly and seated right away, which was impressive given how busy it was. Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

The ambiance was nice, the open kitchen with the wood fire hearth right at the entrance added a warm cozy feel from the onset. The restaurant was warmly lit but not dark. We were seated immediately in the far left dining area in an elevated booth. After reviewing the menu we settled on the fried deviled eggs and wood fire oysters for starters and the Vincent Vega pizza for dinner. Fried deviled eggs was a first for us and it was so good! The egg white was breaded very lightly and fried and the egg yolk was piped on top with a piece of smoky delicious bacon goodness. It had a nice smoky, bacon-y taste and we devoured them. I only wish you got more than 2 pieces. I think 4 pieces would be better for the price considering it's essentially one egg but I'm not complaining. The wood fire oysters was another hit for us, the serving came with 6 half shell oysters topped with breadcrumbs (light), swimming in butter and fire roasted. I think we ate these even faster than the deviled eggs lol! Would definitely get these again. The pizza also did not disappoint. If you like bacon, mushrooms and creamy Boursin cheese, you'll love this pizza. We added crushed red pepper flakes which added a nice kick. The crust is the star of the show; thin, crispy but still has body and slightly chewy. Yum! That wood fire hearth definitely makes a difference. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back! The staff were also very nice and friendly.

It was non stop; attentive, taking orders, making drinks, checking back with others, she was truly impressive.
