Not a fan. I have been smoking brisket and meats for years....and have lived all over BBQ America.. Their brisket was too salty and dried out...same for pulled chicken. Potato salad was weird...mustardy...actually threw it out!...coleslaw ok. Corn muffins so so. How do you screw up corn bread? I have had missions food at events and take out that others have brought to work etc but I went there last night with my family. The service was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful explaining how the system worked there. Its kind of cafeteria like. The food came out quickly. There was 6 of us in total so there was many trays of food. It usually self pick up but the staff jumped right in and helped get it all to the table. It was all hot and fresh. During dinner we were offered complementary brownies and samples of other menu items. It was a fun experience. I have been eyeing Mission BBQ since it first opened and feel so happy to have finally been able to stop in. The displays of patriotism on the walls energize the dining area, along with the upbeat country music in the background. We were bummed that they had run out of pulled pork and coleslaw prior to our arrival. None of us were disappointed with our entrees and all felt the serving sizes were reflective of their price. I guess if I had one word to sum up Mission BBQ would be Meh. Recently picked up a to go order. Missing items and one order ended up being incorrect. Food was also cold like it was sitting for a long time. Service was also slow despite many employees behind the counter. Food was wayyyyy over seasoned. One of my dining companions had corn which they said was too spicy. I like spicy food and tried the corn and it was very peppery and could see it being too much for people who aren't into spicy food. I was inching to try this new BBQ place for a while, Today I unfortunately had to try the food, and as eye opening as it was, the beginning was already a nightmare; I had no clue what to expect when entering the restaurant and wasnt expecting a cafeteria experience. Me and my party stood by the front waiting for someone to tell us how to order, as theirs no indication that its a cafeteria style restaurant with none of the workers filling new customers in on how it works and how to order We ordered the brisket, and Smoked chicken, and while we were ordering we were accidentally charged twice, and after the error was corrected got our food immediately. There isn't any waiter to tell you where to sit, and it's a free for all, if it's packed, enjoy standing around waiting for a table. And finally the food, the saving grace that I regrettably thought would save the confusing experience, the brisket was gummy and unseasoned, the smoke chicken, while it was technically edible since it was smoked it was over salted and somehow underdone as the skin was too elastic to even eat, the pink meat itself isn't very appetizing either. At least the Mac and cheese wasn't terrible though. We took our concerns with the staff and they turned us around saying the chicken is fine, not even offering any substitutions for the dissatisfaction. Ultimately the prices were way to high for the proportions, the staff aren't informative and doesn't help people when they aren't expecting a cafeteria style restaurant. They're aren't any signs that suggest it either. A greeter would definitely benefit. I wouldn't suggest going to this place if your looking for quality food, and a helpful staff. read more

Mission BBQ recently opened in my area and I've seen a tremendous amount of traffic around the restaurant. Today I decided to try it for myself. I ordered several items to taste. The order was for take out and was handled very quickly. First, I must begin by stating that the customer service is superb! The cashiers and the individuals arranging your order are polite, courteous and professional. It's refreshing to see this. They also work very quickly. Even though the restaurant is very busy they move quickly and the wait time is negligible. Very impressed here. The food is outstanding. The meats are all very good. I ordered the ribs, the brisket, the Turkey and the pulled pork. Everything was outstanding and perfectly cooked. The sides were also very good. The only complaint I have is the Mac and Cheese is on the drier side. I prefer my Mac and Cheese more creamy but the taste was still very good. The beans are very tasty as is the corn bread. What can I say? My mom and I love this place! We've had it twice in the past month (the first time was our first time ever). We've had the chopped brisket sandwich, traditional pulled pork sandwich, mac & cheese, BBQ baked beans, and potato salad. All fantastic!!! All the sauces are very good, but I think we prefer the Memphis Belle, Texas Twang, and Bay-B-Que--kinda hard to know the full pecking order yet, but we enjoyed all the sauces. Pulled pork - dry as heck and porky tasting and had no smoke flavor or bark. Beans were decent. Cole slaw was not and cornbread was bleh. The capper were the ribs. Some of the worst ever seen! I was excited to try Mission BBQ and it didn't disappoint. My boyfriend and I shared the 3 meat sampler so that we could try as much as possible. We ordered the brisket, pulled pork and classic sausage. We also added on 5 of the baby back ribs. Everything was very good but my favorite was the pulled pork. Clean, delicious, and friendly! We were on a nearby Costco run and decided to stop here for dinner. Portions were a good size and the sauces available was a little bit overwhelming. My husband got the brisket which I should've gotten instead of the prime rib. Best eaten at the restaurant in one of the booths, as my prime rib ended up being well done and kept cooking in the container by the time I got to eat it. The food was well seasoned but further improved by the BBQ sauces on the table when you sit. I did find some of the meat to be more room temp than hot but the flavor made up for that. The Mac and cheese was super tasty. In terms of cost, I feel like this is relatively affordable especially if you share a sampler like we did. The cornbread was moist and delicious. I love that they have fun bottle vintage sodas as well as support veterans. The peach cobbler was full of cinnamon but I wanted more cakey parts in there. It's a great concept, but understand their true mission is to get you in and get you out so they may turnover tables. This is a no frills BBQ place. Plastic forks and spoons, no plates, quick turnaround. BBQ cooks for hours, so all of this food is pre cooked, so it's high quality fast food. I say this with the utmost respect. The food come out fast, but the quality of the product is excellent. True slow cooked tender BBQ. We had the beef brisket and baby back ribs. The Food was tender,moist and delicious. Slow cooked with delicious bark and you know it's smoked because you can see the smoke ring. For sides we had fries, Mac and cheese, baked beans and green beans. The fries were fresh cut and the baked beans had pieces of brisket in it. All of the sides were excellent. The absolute BEST experience at this restaurant!!! We got the moist brisket and it was the BEST meat we've ever eaten. It was juicy, tasty, and delicious. I could not stop eating it!!!
