They let me drive it to have it inspected and just driving it on the road was sketchy. The pictures in the listing showed rust spots from under the truck, which I thought would be the worst spots. I was impressed that they'd shown them. But when we looked at it ourselves, it seemed the pics were meant to keep people from looking themselves...it had massive holes in the frame, the attachment where a rear shock was supposed to attach simply did not exist, it was completely rusted away. The components of the brakes were so rusty they flaked away when lightly touched. The differential's rust was so bad that a slight poke would likely cause the entire system to drain. There was a ratchet-strap holding the gas tank up. It was a complete mess. I felt unsafe even driving back to them. Selling a truck in that condition, and allowing people to drive it off their lot, is dangerous.

I drove my car roughly to the area where I thought they took them in and went inside. The guy was very nice and took my info, but also asked me if I wanted to share it, meaning I could opt out if I wanted to. I asked if they had differing levels of oil changes. They do, and I got the lower end package. They still checked fluids, bulbs, and other things. They will offer to replace, but some of it is pricey. Some bulbs are very difficult and would be worth having them replace, others are just simply pulling out the connector and replacing the bulb. The waiting room is a bit small, but the wait was actually very short. All three bays were full when I arrived with 2 cars waiting. I think I expected to be there longer. When they were done they gave me a rundown of everything they found. All was OK, except for a few bulbs that they recommended replacing. They aired up my tires, and even had covers for the stems that were missing them. (Thanks to the last place where they checked the tires and didn't replace any.) It reminded me of my old experiences at Jiffy Lube. They highlighted one issue that could have been serious. The guy mentioned my car was a little slow to turn over. I had noticed that and wrote it off to the weather. He suggested I get my battery checked. I did, and found out there was a lot of corrosion that had been hiding under the battery cover. This was absolutely starting to cause problems! I appreciate his noting that! HIGHLY recommend this place. Friendly and thorough. That's tougher to find these days. I'll be back!

Finally, I decided to take it in. I did some research before choosing Belle because I've had some average or below average experiences at other places in Bloomington. Belle had some of the best reviews so I took it in today at around 10am. The guys working were nice and quick working. I was out by 10:45 which is pretty good for a walk-in at any sort of mechanic.
