If a problem can be fixed for cheap, that's what they advise. When work could be done under a recall by the dealership for free, they told me about it. They never treat me like an idiot and during the covid crisis they bent over backwards to keep me and my family safe. That buys a lot of loyalty from me. I cannot imagine using anybody else in Indiana. This kind of shop is hard to find. Jim is the best. I've been going to him for years for a Volkswagen Jetta TDI and Jim's always been…read morehonest. He never tries to sell us stuff we don't need or say that a repair is necessary when we don't need it. He gets repairs done promptly once the car has been brought in and his estimates of when he'll finish repairs are accurate or sooner than expected. One person said he didn't communicate well, but while he is a quiet person, I've never had any problems with calling him and getting an immediate response. Update 11/30/2018: I had Jim fix some electric issues in the vehicle like a non-functioning release of the trunk. He also made some major repairs to the vehicle, such as replacing our broken turbo charger. Again, Jim was honest and provided affordable service. I emphasize this because in my experience, it's really hard to find an honest mechanics in general and especially one that can work on diesel vehicles. Just some advice for people who are new to Allroad Motorsports: The best time to call Jim is between 8am and 4pm during weekdays. Usually you get a busy signal outside of those hours or on holidays. And make sure to let the phone ring for a while because he's likely in the shop working on cars and needs a moment to get to the phone.

After PepBoys returned my car to me 5 times!!! claiming that they fixed my parking breaks, and each time it took me less than 5 minutes to figure out that the parking breaks are not working! (just park on an incline, push the pedal, release the break and voila, car rolls down hill like there is nothing in its way)..then after everything and 250$ (for nothing) PepBoys had the nerve to ask for 300$ additional to replace my parking break cables. in short stay away... I then came upon these guys (J&S Auto Care) based on a recommendation. They figured out right away what was the problem and gave me an honest and lower estimate. Did a better job than PepBoys with no hassle, and actually charged me LESS than the estimate they initially gave me since the problem wasn't as bad as initially assumed!!! This is not a one time thing either! I have been coming back to them and occasionally they would charge less then the original estimate if some part did not need replacing or the job was simpler than they expected. Also they never charged me more than the estimate, although I assume its only fair that such things can sometimes happen if something is worse than initially estimated. I CANT STRESS ENOUGH how straightforward, no-nonsense and HONEST these guys are! This was like a fresh breeze in my ongoing mistrust towards mechanics which has been building up over many years of bad experiences, I honestly stopped believing that such a thing as an honest mechanic existed...Until I happened upon they guys at J&S. If they can fix it I'll always come back to them, and if they can't I'll go where they recommend.
