I've had great service from Wray's for years, but I wanted to mention this specific occasion. I went to Christian Brother's in Greenwood after the brakes on my 2003 Mazda Protege had been squealing and my brake light was going on and staying on for long periods of time. Nothing was deemed dire but they recommended eight repairs after doing an all inclusive inspection that included replacing front break pads that were whittled down to 2mm (below 3 being dangerous). If I'd done everything they'd suggested, it would have totaled to a little over $1,600. After going to Wray's they told me that my front brake pads were actually at 5mm and that oil had been spilled on the engine and brake light sensor. I agreed to come back to them to check and see if oil is leaking into it from somewhere. I was charged $55.35 for the cleaning of the engine! They know my car is old and won't last too much longer. Wray's is upfront, honest, and recommend only what you need. They truly prioritize the customer and I'm not going anywhere else from now one! read more

Absolutely amazing service, quality, and people! I was having issues with my car idling properly and called around to a few shops to get the best quote on running a diagnostic. Wray Automotive was by far the cheapest and told me on the phone they are very reasonable in their pricing/don't rip people off (to which I fully agree). Wray immediately figured out what the issue was and kindly called around to find me the best price on the parts that I needed for repairs. The parts arrived the day after they were ordered and Wray fixed my car that same day - overall, the turnaround time was very quick. If I ever have car issues in the future, I'm happy to know I've found a place I can trust! Thanks Chris and the rest of the Wray Automotive team for your help and fantastic service! read more

My kids go to Indiana University and have an older car to use at school. The alternator went bad on the car, and Chris at Wray's was extremely helpful in helping my son get the car fixed. Wray's was busy and couldn't guarantee the car would be examined for about 7 business days, but Chris told me that he can generally push that timing up a bit. And he did. Car was diagnosed and fixed at a fair price in 3 days. He was very communicative and helpful in the process, and even called me a day later to tell me that my son had left his basketball shoes and water bottle at the shop. Excellent place that we will be using while the kids are still living in Bloomington. Great to have a place that you can trust with auto repairs. read more

When your kids call from college with car issues it can be a so frustrating - but dealing with Wray Automotive was amazing. Spoke to the owner on my first call- he was very honest that they were booked out a couple days but if my son could drop off they would look at it when they had a break. He had it repaired the next day, 5 days before we expected it, for a lot less than I was expecting to pay- they called my son and let him know he could pick it up but also reached out to me to explain everything they had done and why! I feel so relieved to know I can count on Wray Automotive to be reliable and fair. I would highly recommend them to anyone- especially moms who need to know their kids are going to be taken care of! read more

Best service I've ever experienced!! My car needed a new alternator and I had to get it towed - overall very stressful for me because I work this weekend and am driving 4hrs home to make a flight. I called Wray Automotive and the customer service is amazing! The people are SO kind and helpful; they genuinely care about their customers. I towed my car to them on a Tuesday and they said they'd have it done Friday. I got a call Wednesday (the very next day!) that said my car was done!!! Made my day. Seriously the friendliest and quickest service I've ever gotten. 12/10 definitely recommend and will be going there for all future car-related needs. Seriously love this place and their dogs :) read more

Absolutely the best! Anyone looking for a quality, efficient, affordable shop should look no further. Wrays always has the best customer service you'll be greeted with a smiling face and if you're lucky enough you'll get to pet some puppies. Besides the great environment the work speaks for itself. I had a massive repair done on my jeep my freshman year at school with Wray Automotive and after that haven't gone to another shop since. They completely took care of me, honestly don't know how I got so lucky to find this shop! read more

Just wanted to shout out Wray Automotive as a place to consider if you have need. My daughter's check engine light was on, and after assessing the car and finding nothing wrong, he asked her if she'd recently had the battery changed. She had. Turns out another shop, the guys who did her winterizing, left something loose that triggered the light. They had quoted her $135 for a diagnostic, but when they found out it was nothing at all, they didn't even charge. Thank you Wray's for being so honest and kind. read more

My car engine light was on and I needed my engine fixed fast before driving home from school for thanksgiving break. Wrays got me in super fast and fixed my car within a day! They have great customer service and are super friendly! I am a college student at IU and I don't know much about cars and they even offered to call my step dad to explain what was going on with my car. Overall, I had a great experience with Wrays and if my car ever has a problem again I will definitely be coming to Wrays! read more

Incredible service and care from top to bottom. Got a report on what was wrong with my car the day of and it was back on the road by the next week. I especially appreciated how understanding they were of my specific circumstances, and their honesty and transparency with repair approaches and costs. While not all of us know everything about cars, they are crucial for us to live our lives. These guys know that and treat their customers as people first. Thank you, and I will certainly be back! read more

This shop gave me my best automotive repair experience I've ever had. Everyone here was very professional and helpful. They got me in on short notice and, when I explained that I needed the car fixed ASAP, everyone here went above and beyond to get the part that day and install it. The real kicker? They only wanted to charge me about 15 dollars in labor. This place gets my highest marks and I've been to a lot of mechanics. If you want trustworthy, quick, and efficient service go here. read more

Shopped around and found they were great on price and appointment availability. Staff was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. Love that they have a 2 year/24,000 mile nationwide warranty and offered me free roadside assistance. Quick turn around time on repairs - thought I would be going without my vehicle for a couple days, they got it done in 1!!!! I will definitely only take my vehicle here as they can do everything - tires, oil changes, major/minor repairs! read more

Wray is the way! I had a seized caliper that was giving my brakes all sorts of trouble, and Firestone wanted nearly $900 for it. Wray gave me a rough estimate over the phone that was, worst case scenario, $200 cheaper. I dropped off my car later that afternoon and they had it ready about 2 hours later and it ended up costing even less than their initial estimate. My brakes are perfect now! Stephanie at the front desk was very helpful and reassuring too! read more

Consistently excellent. Great work. Great prices. I've used Wray for years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Friendly folks. Finding a good mechanic is a challenge and my search stopped once I started going to Wray. You have a wait a couple of days to get an appointment, but it's worth the wait. I have older, funky cars and wouldn't trust anyone else. I KNOW they'll do solid, reliable work. Note: Dunno why this says I'm in San Fran. I'm in Bloomington. read more

I was experiencing some issues with my car and called in the morning to see if they had an availability. They were super responsive and were able to fit me into their schedule I was able to bring my car in, and pick my car up on the same day. They kept in contact with me through out the whole day. Amazing service and great communication. My car is running smoother than it has in a long time! Great service would definitely recommend! read more

Absolutely incredible service. Bloomington roads are rough, especially in the winter, and tires are the number one victim to this. I got a flat tire and got hoed over by the automotive place nextdoor called Chandlers. NEVER GO TO CHANDLERS. I called Wray because I had nowhere to go, and they squeezed me into their busy schedule. I will never forget the kindness that the Wray employees showed me that day. read more

Absolutely amazing service! I had a issue with one of the tires on my car. The tire size on my car is a very strange size, and most shops do not carry it. I brought it in and they were able to overnight ship a new tire to put on my car. They were very honest and helpful and went above and beyond to get it done quick. The pricing was also very fair and reasonable, would absolutely recommend this shop. read more

Best mechanic I've been to in Bloomington! Timing belt broke and I was back on the road the next day. Chris and the folks at Wray were very professional and polite as they explained the situation with my car, and even pointed out some general maintenance concerns to address. I will be recommending Wray's to everyone and will absolutely be returning for future maintenance and repairs. read more
