Went during the week with a group including a couple kids. The staff was very nice, and they were patient with the kids needs. It was pretty quiet, but it was early evening. Our drinks and food came out pretty quick after ordering. I had one of their IPAs, the West Coast Wizard. I am definitely an IPA drinker, and this just felt ok to me. Lacked a little bite that I was hoping for. I ordered one of their housemade sausages, which was good. I would probably skip the frites next time though, as they just seemed like a fast food type. I liked that they source as local as possible, and portion sizes were solid. The decor/vibe felt weird to me. Almost like they were trying too hard to not look like a brewery. While our service was great, it just wouldn't be on the top of my list to go back to right away.

The Miskatonic Craft Kitchen in downtown Naperville has as expected a solid selection of beers. The Craft Kitchen is a great compliment to a wide beer selection. The food is thoughtfully sourced and with bratwurst being on the menu this should make Miskatonic a stop for those looking for more than just a beer. What else goes better with a beer? What else goes better with a brat? Miskatonic Naperville has a great friendly staff with great service. They also have a solid lineup with cocktails, brunch, a kids menu, and are even open for lunch. The space here is huge and can accommodate larger parties. In the warmer months the large windows open to the outside making this a nice addition to downtown Naperville.

We stopped in Saturday late afternoon and had a flight to try a variety of their beers. Big fan of all the beers we tried. Great service from the team, everyone had a smile (and I'm sure it had been a very busy day). We came back Sunday for brunch, variety of seating options, we decided to people watch at the window. We tried the homemade sausages, and ended up staying awhile to have another beer or two. Excellent service from Marianne and Tim.

We came here for a few appetizers and a small lunch and some drinks. It was pretty quiet. My husband had a cheeseburger and he really enjoyed it. Myself and my friends shared a few appetizers. Everything was really good and the beer was amazing. Service was excellent!

It was a nice surprise to find a place where the dishes are very well crafted, beautifully presented, tasty, and sufficiently portioned. Their house sausages are amazing with unconventional toppings or condiments... strongly recommended. The service is attentive, friendly, and ready to answer questions. Their own variety of craft beers represents different styles that accommodate different tastes. The sample beer flight tray is very unique and goes with the decoration and furniture. Also they have some craft cocktails that are very tempting from reading their descriptions ... perhaps the next time!

New location in Naperville just opened up. It is clean, organized and such an inviting feel. The bartenders, host and servers were great! We tried 3 or their beers, all IPA and they were delicious! Did not get food this time but the fries look like a HUGE portion and the wings looked perfectly cooked(from other tables). This is a must try in downtown Naperville!

Located in downtown Naperville, Miskatonic is a brewery that serves food. When you walk in they have the windows up to allow fresh air and have plenty of seating. They have a decent selection of beers that they brew and I enjoyed the ones I've tried. Outside of beer they have liquor and an extensive cocktail menu. I didn't try their cocktails but looking at other's drinks they did look good. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of their product and other items as well. I decided to get food from here and went with the pork belly sandwich. The pork belly was amazing! Cooked and seasoned perfectly. It had a nice meaty portion but the fatty part was perfectly rendered. It came with a slew of fresh toppings which added a nice refreshing touch. The fries on the side were also good. This is a great place to visit during the day for a bite to eat or grab a drink but I'm sure you can also have a good time during the later hours. I will frequent this place when I'm in the area.

2nd location for Miskatonic brewery, this one located in downtown Naperville. It's a bit farther drive from the city, and harder to park, but it's a very nice space, and is right amongst several other bars and restaurants. While the Darien Miska is just BYO food, and sells some snacks, this one has a kitchen and a full food menu, specializing in sausages. I got the Hungarian one, very good, came with fries, and a pretty big portion. The tap list is pretty similar to the Darien location, with maybe a few new ones, not 100% sure, but there's still plenty to choose from. They have a lot of space inside, a big bar in the center, and then multiple tables. I'm happy for them that they are big enough for 2 locations. I'll likely just keep visiting Darien since it's closer to me, but I'm glad I got to check it out, and would recommend to everyone, especially if they live close to it.

There was no fun entrance or password; we waited at the bottom of the stairs, never got greeted, and walked up. We got seated right away and ended up asking to move seats because we were seated in the middle of a large/loud party. Our new seats were good; we did have to share a table with another couple. Our server was the best part; his name was Z. He did, however, have to cover the entire room, which seemed impossible for one person. The service did slow down mid-experience, and then we were given the option to move or leave to accommodate their next reservation, which was odd. We had some appetizers, which were okay, but we had no plates or napkins, so it was a bit messy to eat. The dirty chips were a highlight. The drinks were alright, but for being the 'main event' I thought they would offer more options for people who enjoy sweet drinks. They did not have any. The sweetest option was a pineapple option that had a thick foam on it. I took one sip and gave it to my husband. He did enjoy the fun Absinthe Foundatian; however, they only had one, so there was a lot of waiting for many tables as it was passed around. The best part was our server, Z, surprised us with donuts for my husband's birthday. They were very yummy! Overall, it was a super cute place, but definitely a one-time only visit for us.

Altavida's concepts for the three levels are Publico, Rumba, and Altura. Publico (1st Flr)- A South American fusion of food and drinks that will be rotating. The cocktails will be more tequila and mezcal based and food will be subtly rotated based on trends happening in South America. The food menu currently offers tapas, empanadas, ceviche, guacamoles, larger format meat/seafood entrees, and more. They will have a front of our bar as well as a back bar that will specialize in more coffees/coffee cocktails. Rumba (2nd Flr)- The entertainment floor! There is a separate bar on this floor that will specialize in more Rum based cocktails. Additionally, they will have a wine bar area with wines in tap. Lastly, they will have an open area for live music as well as dancing. Their hope is to have a mix of jazz, club music, salsa dancing options available. Altura (3rd Flr)- This floor is still under construction but will have a rooftop patio. The hope is that this space will be an event space both for public and private events. Back to my experience! My partner and I stopped in for a cocktail and to see what Altavida was about. Our first bartender was very nice but was still getting used to the drink recipes and was leaning on their cheat sheets. While we waited, another bartender kindly told us all about the restaurant and its focus on hospitality. Unfortunately, each bartender had a slightly different explanation of the restaurant's goal concepts which was confusing. We ended up ordering the El Toro and Vaquero (both mezcal drinks). Both were VERY spirit forward to the point that it may have needed better balance. Both drinks had a nice presentation with garnishes, color, and a skull feature at the bottom of the glass. Lastly, we saw many people walk up and look confused as there was no formal host stand. They didn't know if they should seat themselves or wait for someone. Overall, there still seems to be some kinks needing to be worked out as well as some conceptual editing. I feel they are trying to achieve too much and it ends up being confusing for staff and guests. I hope with time, Altavida is extremely successful in the Naperville area and I hope to circle back after some time passes.

I loved the modern decor and lively music being played. The place is truly colorful and has a very energetic vibe. The service was excellent. Everyone was extremely kind and happy to help. Edwin, the general manager was so friendly and accommodating by making sure that everything was to our liking. He is a gem. My husband and I ordered a few different tapas to share. We started with the empanadas and they were truly 10/10, highly recommend! We had the beef and chicken with the chimichurri sauce. We also tried the papas bravas and those were delicious as well. They are spicy and have a nice kick. The portion is pretty big and shareable. Last, we had chicken en mole. Omg, so good! They knocked it out of the park with this one. The presentation is very pleasing and the flavor is 10/10! I'm a hot sauce girly and even carry it in my bag just in case. The sauce they had in the dish was so good that I didn't even think about adding hot sauce! The rice and chicken along with the sauce is chef's kiss. I also tried the Brussels sprouts but they were my least favorite of everything. They should go back to the drawing board on that one. The drinks we had were solid. My husband had an espresso martini and dragonfruit margarita, while I had a mango margarita. All were good. Needless to say, I had an amazing evening at Altavida! The dancing on the second floor was also very fun and entertaining. I will definitely be a regular here!

For first-timers it might be hard trying to find the speakeasy since at first I thought you had to access it from the Busy Street and walk up three flights of stairs. Actually you just walk inside of the Embers building, find the elevator that's kind of hidden and take it to the Third floor. I thought that the little trip up felt exclusive already. Once you're at the third floor you are treated to a beautiful array of scenery. Exit to your left and you were treated to the bar and some great tables with a cozy, intimate setting. I'm not sure if it was open seating since there was a little podium right off the elevator so we just sat ourselves. Some speakeasies require a certain dress code to keep up with the times. This one thankfully was casual though many people dressed business casual. We actually loved how the staff dressed as well. I have to try their Japanese sex drink and I absolutely loved every ship that I took. The drinks are fairly price. They did have a food menu but it was mainly snacks and small plates that were a bit overpriced. If we're having a large Gathering they have a big private room next door. This place does have a lot of great events going on as well with their upcoming Valentine's Day event that looks really interesting. So, I waved to the other bartender who was female and she politely served me. I also found out that same male bartender kicked out two other friends of my friend I was with for no reason. Plus, when I reconciled my receipts the next day, I discovered that in my "not paying attention," they handed me two other receipts to sign which totaled about $80.00. (At the time, I thought maybe they were just helping each other out with ringing my order up) There's NO way I ordered that much, because it was SO crowded, I couldn't get served more than once, so that's why we left.
