A super nice older guy standing outside this place talks us into coming in for a drink and sits us on the terrace. We are sitting for 5 minutes and it starts to rain. The waiter goes to extend a plastic covering, the metal pole comes off, swings down and hits my son on the head. They bring a bag of ice and a hat as an apology, but don't really seem too concerned. Then they bring the drinks. The mojito tasted like it had tequila in it. Not good. Then the rain gets more intense and a hole springs in the cover soaking my wife. Now the Baratta was good, but we had had enough. To top it off, they did NOT discount anything and charged us full price for the drinks and appetizer. Craziest 15 minutes in Rome hands down.

We sat outside under a heater and my husband and I enjoyed our time. The two guys in the front and bartender were very nice and attentive. Our drinks arrived quickly and our meal was very delicious.

Servers: extremely friendly Environment: clean and has air conditioning Bathroom: yes - nice and clean! Food: highly recommend their FOCACCIA bread. Wonderfully seasoned. I had the seafood pasta. It included fresh and plentiful of clams, mussels, squid, prawns, large crayfish (i think ) and shrimp. See picture below. My wife really enjoyed their salad. Worth coming to!

One night in Rome! We had departed from the 8-day cruise and made our way to our Inn on Via Cavour which is popular street in Rome's city center. We were seeking a good meal and experience - this place was a few steps away from our lodging. We were immediately seated as it was dinner time. The style in Europe - Italy specifically is to enjoy food, together. Savor the courses of food too so they don't move very fast. We started with bruschetta, mussels and salads. Very tasty, fresh and the we added the focaccia bread with olive oil (additional cost). For dinner some of us went traditional and others more casual - hamburger with frites, calamari, ravioli, seafood pasta and spaghetti with meatballs. Some hits, some misses. The burger was a nice cut of meat but bland. The ravioli didn't have spinach and generally bland too. Cocktails were a hit. The Old Fashioned was served near perfect. Tequila Sunrise and Rose were great. Service - very attentive but it's clear this is a tourist stop. The servers stand outside flagging people down to eat. They urged us to order more food or change to a higher menu item. It's family style for appetizers so lots of food is served. Entree portions are good. They did take the ravioli off our tab. Overall, we were short on time but this hit the spot. The location is a few blocks from the Colosseum so getting there was a must!

We LOVE EVERYTHING about this restaurant! The food is OUTSTANDING & the service and staff along with the atmosphere (inside or out) ARE ALSO AMAZING! We enjoyed this place so much we went as many times as we could while there for 8 days. Miscele E Fuoco was THE BEST RESTAURANT WE WENT TO IN ROME! They are FABULOUS PEOPLE & BUSINESS! ENJOY!!!

Very delightful and attentive service with A/C during Rome's heatwave!!! Food was good, drinks are timely and we took our time enjoying the street view.

Finally a place that served an American breakfast with three eggs, bacon and toast. Fresh orange juice and delicious coffee. The server spoke very good English, too. I'll be returning ... soon!

Really gorgeous and clean restaurant right near the imperial ruins. I was worried it may be touristy but no! It was calm and such a great atmosphere for a peaceful lunch after exploring the Colosseum! The staff were out of this world-- so friendly and welcoming!! I ordered the grilled chicken and my mom got the chicken Caesar salad. Both were delicious! My mom also ordered the Caffe Shakerato for a post meal pick me up and she said it was the best coffee she's had in Rome thus far! My only downside was the price, but the quality of the food was truly worth it!

Fresh fresh fresh! Amazing meal only a walk away from the Palatine Hill. We had the fresh fish (€70) and steak and it was amazing! So glad we came here!

Carbonara was terrible. Way too much salt. And bacon instead of pancetta? What a shame.

They were so accommodating to us. We wanted pizza at 10 am and they were totally willing to make it happen. Perfect spot.

The edamame we had was soft and boiled/spiced to perfection. Originally we were just going to get a roll and a bowl but after trying the food we immediately got another roll. The staff was a whole new level of mind blowing. To start the waiter made us feel exactly where we belonged (even though we were a little underdressed for a classier restaurant). You could've just sat there and watched the bar tender all night, she looked like she was a professional I wouldn't want anyone else making me drinks. The atmosphere of the whole bar embodied a classic American jazz bar, even the other people and tables we were by were friendly and really added to the whole experience. Was very well worth the price and couldn't recommend any other restaurant.

A jazz club for American tourists…read more Okay, there was one Australian lady and a few Chinese. Everyone else was American. Prices are sky-high because this is a soak the tourist situation. Alexanderplatz which is the premiere jazz club in Rome charges $18 euros for a month membership - no cover after that - and $12 per drink. So once you have paid your monthly cover charge, you can hear all the jazz you want for free - or if need be for $12 euros a drink At Alexanderplatz, the performances are legendary with some of the most innovative and technically amazing musicians in Rome. We dropped over $150 euros at Gregory's. We got a perfectly reasonable yeoman guitarist. But nothing like the artistic lions that routinely perform over at Alexanderplatz. Now to be fair, we had dinner at Gregory's and we never eat at Alexanderplatz. The standard "sushi dinner" was perfectly reasonable yeoman sushi. There was so little of it that we both had to order a la carte dishes afterwards. The extra extras seriously expanded the final tab. * * * One argument in Gregory's favor: their bar is extraordinary. The bar at Alexanderplatz is mediocre. Gregory's charges top dollar for its bar offerings, but what they mix and what is in their bottles is worth every single euro they ask for. I would be perfectly happy to just go to the bar, and order a few premium beverages. I would hear my wallet cry. But I would know that I was drinking supremely well in return for my investment. Fortunately, the bar is downstairs from the club. I would not have to put up with the shenanigans in the club. * * * The problem with the club is the crowd. At most, one third of the customers are actually there to listen to jazz. The room is filled with tourists taking selfies. There are also hot-daters playing snuggle-buns. Many of them will leave mid-set so they can go back to the hotel. Gregory's is less about the music and more about selling happy memories of Rome. * * * Alexanderplatz gets a mostly Italian crowd. You are looking as musicians, music critics, academics, and all purpose artsy types - as well as normal Italian human beings who just want to hear fine music. The music is taken very very seriously. Yeah, there are usually two or three tables with good time Charlies who are doing the phone recording, party hearty thing. But this is 8% of the audience at Alexanderplatz as opposed to 70% of the audience at Gregory's. To be fair to the crowd at Gregory's, the music at Alexanderplatz is simply better. The jazz at Alexanderplatz is capable of transfixing even philistines with tin ears. Gregory's jazz doesn't put that much on the table. But the crowd at Alexanderplatz sets me up for listening to mystic, complex music with the highest level of attention and aesthetic receptiveness. The crowd at Gregory's just gets me irritated. * * * If you are in Rome with a hot date, go to Gregory's. Be prepared to shell out the bucks. * * * If you are in Rome with someone who can truly appreciate once-in-a-lifetime musical experiences, take them to Alexanderplatz. After you talk about the music for half an hour after the concert, You can still go back to the hotel. Just figure that the hotel will be the second best part of the night.

I ordered a split of Bolero even though it's hot, I wanted it with my gnocchi with black truffles. The gnocchi and the wine were both delicious. I also had ordered a salad to start. When they brought out my salad, it was huge and I remarked about how big it was and he said oh would you like a smaller one and I said, yes please. I hadn't even touched the bowl. A few minutes later, he brought a much smaller much better sized bowl filled with crunchy radicchio, carrots, arugula, and other nice veggies. I was grateful because I couldn't even finish that one. There's no way I could've done the large one. The service was excellent. They were very kind and courteous, and went out of their way to be helpful more than once . As I was leaving it was pouring rain. My waiter didn't want me to go out into the rain without an umbrella and I said I was fine and I laughed that I wasn't made of sugar, most could attest to that. He smiled and said just a minute and he went back somewhere towards the kitchen and dug around and came back out with an umbrella. Talk about customer service so I had a lovely lovely walk back home in the rain it's been very hot here so it felt delightful. I returned the umbrella yesterday evening. I will happily go back there again before I leave.
