Thought I'd give this place a try, so i wouldn't commute to my go-to sushi place across town. I eat sushi/poke about 5x per month and I've narrowed some of my favorite spots. I'm very picky on the quality of fish I eat. I wanted to order a basic/classic items to compare. Salmon and tuna tasted fishy. Philadelphia role had way too much cream cheese. Tuna poke was overpriced, and deceiving compared to the picture on their website. For $3 more I could get a poke bowl else with fresher fish and loaded with veggies. Working in the food industry myself, would recommend sushi to-go orders to be refrigerated for food safety concerns. My items had been sitting out when I went to pick up--not sure how long it had been out, and I still had to commute home. Want to come back to try their hot food, but won't be ordering sushi again. read more

New restaurant, good service. My expectation was that it would be a solid ramen/teriyaki strip mall place. And it met that expectation. I had the steak teriyaki entree. It came with miso soup, salad, rice and steak. Miso soup was good. Probably not a homemade broth but good. Salad was nice and light. Rice was perfect and sticky. Steak was sliced thin, and the sauce was sweet and tasty. Ambiance was spartan and clean. They were showing a video on the tv where a chef was slicing up strange food items. It was a little nauseating and very hard to ignore. Ramen was good, not great. Again, maybe not homemade broth. But worth going back to try other items. read more

The food was definitely worth it, I definitely recommend getting the Takoyaki just be careful when take a bite of it the inside of little ball is still hot. The Mirin Ramen was good too, I just had to put a little more sriracha to make the spice level to my liking. The Service at the Restaurant was excellent, I was immediately seated at the Bar and received great service from the waitresses. read more

Mirin Kitchen - Mirin Ramen and Takoyaki - Japanese Near Me - Vista, California

Mirin Kitchen is my favorite restaurant in Vista. They are like Teri Cafe menu but 3x the quality. The rolls are simple but the ingredients are so fresh, soft, quality that they are as flavorable as sushi should be and so delicious. I'm a big fan of their caterpillar roll & lemon salmon roll!! Their teriyaki chicken is also excellent. Their staff are so friendly and accommodating. Even the young staff are so sweet and care about the customer. This local business is one I want to see succeed as much as it deserves and I HIGHLY recommend their food & service. read more

Best Katsu Curry I've had in North County. My brother loved the garlic noodles with Katsu as well. Nice ambiance. Decent service.

Stopped by on a whim and we were all so pleased with this place. The people, service, chefs, and entertainment was very inviting. The food was very delicious and there were options for vegetarians as well. Highly recommend read more

Friendly staff and good food! Just what Vista needs. It's a big restaurant so bring friends and family.

that restaurant is On Point, my food was hot, it was very very delicious, I got the spicy pork ramen and braised beef without the rice with a salad... very tender!! I felt like I was back in Japan. They will definitely see me again!! read more

Awful experience. Party of 8, waited 45 minutes for food, finally we decided to call our waitress over, who never came to check on us, and ask about our order. She came back and said it was ready and sitting on the counter because she thought it was to go. She took our order at the table and served us drinks. So she brings our food, all in paper bags and styrofoam. And the food was cold after sitting on the counter for over a half hour. So we asked for the manager, they said no manger there but sent over the cook to talk to us. He agreed but couldn't do anything about it. He called his manager and was told they would not comp anything, whether we accepted the food or not. We ended up having to pay over $175 for food that we waited 45 plus minutes for and was served in paper bags and cold. I can't say enough of how horrible this place is. read more

This establishment is right up the street from me. I am so excited to have them and have looked forward to something like this opening in the area for quite a long time. I've tried the black garlic ramen and garlic noodles w/filet mignon in the past, both were very good. I love garlic noodles and they definitely hit the spot. Today I tried their wings and crunchy roll. The wings are 10/10!!! The crunchy roll was delicious. Very affordable. It seems they know their audience I hope that doesn't change. read more

As a Japanese person it's now in my bottom 3 worst sushi places I've ever had... the flavor combinations were not working & wayyyyyy too much cream cheese, it's the dominant flavor when it's 50% of the roll. I got 2 rolls & didn't even finish them because I disliked it so much. Definitely below average for sushi, don't recommend sushi here but I'll have to see how I feel about the ramen next time & see if I change my mind about this place. read more

My family and I love ordering takeout from Mirin, so I cannot review the service. My favorite dish is the chicken fried rice. It is made to order so you can get extra veggies and the portion sizes are generous. My daughter is a fan of the chicken katsu and my husband enjoys the chicken and beef entree. While it can be a little pricey, it is worth it for the portion sizes you receive. read more

First time patrons. Never realized that Mirin was a Japanese eatery located in our own fair town! Wife and I stopped by for lunch and was very pleased/satisfied with the venue (clean), the service wait person was obviously new but she was very attentive without being over bearing, and the lunch offerings were fresh and quite tasty. We lived in Tokyo for a number of years so we appreciate "Japanese comfort food".... Nicely done Mirin team! You'll definitely see us again! Oishikatta... read more

While the service was great, we were seated right away and our food came out quickly, but the food quality wasn't. Sushi was disappointing and lacked flavor. Same with the teriyaki chicken. This would be okay if getting to go- for a quick lunch. Interior decorated very nicely, but the quality of sushi was disap read more

Soft opening right now, and you can tell they're still figuring stuff out. HOWEVER! They were super nice and friendly (offered me a glass of ice water while I waited for my food). This is my go-to spot for Japanese food in the Vista area. It is rare to find a Japanese restaurant that serves so many dishes well. The vegetable ramen with veggie broth is the tastiest such ramen I have had in North County, with a flavorful broth and firm vegetables. My personal favorite so far are the specialized sushi rolls (especially deep fried ca and double salmon), it is perfectly sized at not too large and the ingredients taste so much fresher than other restaurant sushi. The only negative is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of customers when I have visited this restaurant. Please support quality dining establishments like this so we can continue to enjoy for the long term. read more

Holy cow. I went here with my daughter because she lives local and said it's "so good". She was RIGHT. Their water is even delicious! I had the steamed dumplings and protein roll and I literally CANNOT stop thinking about it. The service was amazing, the environment was stylish but calm. The food though...okay, I expected nothing but it was so so good. Quality and combination of sauces in what you would think a simple roll. Nope. This place needs to never leave haha read more

Restaurant is beautiful, classy dining. Service was amazing and quick. The food was amazing! We got the garlic edamame and fried gyoza as appetizers both were out in a timely manner and served hot. My son loved the Ramen. I had the chicken and beef teriyaki bowl. Awesome flavor. Will definitely come back.

Tried this place for the first time since it opened down the street from our house, we love japanese food so we were really excited to try it. For a family of 4 we ordered chicken teriyaki yakisoba x 2, a chicken bowl, and the chicken katsu curry, and we ordered a appetizer of takoyaki and mixed tempura. the service was great everyone was friendly and helpful, ordered a pickup order so i can't comment on the dining experience. i took my order home and was super excited to try it out, started with the takoyaki which was the best dish of everything we tried. it was delicious. the tempura was decent nothing out of this world it's tempura. we started getting into our main dishes which were all basically chicken. the chicken was inedible.... it was the driest chicken my family and i have every experienced in any restaurant. we simply could not even chew it. was extremely over cooked. my wife was basically just eating her vegetables and rice since that's all that was edible in her meal, and my children could only eat the noodles of their yakisoba. even the chicken that was fried (katsu) was dry- curry had ok flavor though. To sum up- food was pretty bland except the takoyaki, and the chicken was basically cooked cardboard. i am sad it wasn't good :(, we love japanese food but this just isn't good. read more

So happy to have finally have a Mirin cafe here in vista! Love getting the beef bowls from here. They're delicious and perfect when you want something on the go but also fresh. The inside is modern and clean; service is always friendly. :) 10/10 read more

The fries are nothing special and the portion seems small. It's fries and couple pieces of steak and a sauce... it has potential to be something more special. They forgot one of my rolls and it is annoying because I paid $50 for all the food to get home and be missing a roll. I've had their chicken entree and it's alright. Go to Teri's Cafe in Oceanside instead. read more

Eh! Not great. Disappointed. I so wanted this place (close to my home) to be good. Ive been looking for good ramen. My first visit, I went with 2 other friends. We all ordered a different kind of ramen. The best item we ordered was the garlic Edamame. Otherwise, the 3 styles of ramen were not great. We all decided we'd give it a 6/10. We also said we'd give it another try but would definitely not order the ramen. The ramen was too ordinary or boring for $15. The service wasn't great either. One of the three people that came to our table admitted to it being her first day. My bill was confusing because I asked for garlic but they brought me a tiny little cup of some kind of oil and then said they should have charged me for it, but they took it off my bill?!! What??? There was only two other tables occupied. Not enough to warrant confusion and all three bowls of ramen to come out at different times. Looks like they need some time to improve their service and ramen. However the restaurant was very clean and pleasantly decorated. read more
