Dr. Michel took the time to carefully examine my eyes and compare old and new results. Will definitely be back again in a couple years for another check up. I came in for a check up and he ran a full battery of visual tests, some that I've never seen before. The exam process wasn't painful or discomforting; it was actually enjoyable to hear what the tests were assessing as they were being conducted (ex: I'm near sighted and wear glasses constantly... there's a part of the exam where you put on a non-prescription pair of glasses with a card extended outward from the middle of the frame... he asks you to read it aloud, and progressively pushes it closer to your eyes. If you're still able to read it the closer it gets, it means that you wear your glasses often enough to keep your eyes healthy -- awesome!). The doc's got a gentle touch too. I have a scar on my cornea, and warned that I've had it for a long time. Usually, they have to put a dye in my eye to make sure it's not a fresh wound... and more often than not, I get this huge orange droplet that splashes everywhere, or get that uncomfortable pressure when the optometrist pulls down the lower eye lid. That didn't happen here; I hardly noticed the drop. After the appointment, I had to up my prescription again and get a new pair (/fistpump -- YES! The old one was crooked and the lens was always popping out). The girl who helped me pick out a frame was dealing with some touchy customers, but that didn't stop her from walking around the walls with me and trying on new frames. She gave some great input and we narrowed down the choices to 3 pairs. I told her my motorcycle is my main source of transportation, so the deciding factor would be what's the most flexible pair that can withstand all the running around I'm going to do in them. I believe her name's Maria, so let's use that... "Where's your helmet?" Maria asked kindly. I didn't bring it, yet she was encouraging: "If your close by, maybe you/your fiance can run back real quick and get it! No rush of course, but that way, you can try on the frames with your helmet on." Talk about smart. I looked a bit dorky with my helmet on in the office, but I found a pair that slid on and off easily, even with the tight squeeze. They were Nike w/ Flexon frames and went "all out" on them since I love my glasses: transition lenses with the clear view coating to eliminate glare. I've got VSP insurance, so it came to $236 in total. Not bad, saying my last nike pair was $387. What a happy coincidence that this is the closest location to my house... I know you only visit the optometrist every year or so, but I'd look forward to visiting him any day of the week! I recommend his office to anyone. He's got a great staff and you'll be happy with the services you receive.

I always have an outstanding experience when doing my eye exam with various optometrists due to having no preference, however I was prompted to review because I've been having the greatest experience with Heather in the glasses section. She has been the most helpful and knowledgeable when attempting to choose my glasses; making sure I get the best deal and informing me of the warranty I have available. I did note their warranty is insanely better than any chain by far who usually make you pay and then have co-pays included as well, whereas Greider has neither it is all included for the term. Greider eye associates has amazing staff and is a family practice definitely choose them when seeking an optometrist!
