I went for an event and they were understaffed which brought poor service. Things could have been done better pouring several glasses of wine from the bottle instead of 1 at a time, so there were long lines at the bar. The same with the food lines. The restaurant itself self is ok and the food was also ok. Thank goodness the company was fantastic. read more

Went to a company holiday partt noce size dance floor. Food was good. Pleanty of parking in the lot. Service was slow but friendly.

I truly love this place, and as a fellow Haitian, I always want to support and see it thrive. The food and cultural experience have so much potential, but there are a few areas where improvement would make a huge difference. Over the years, some things haven't changed. The servers often seem reserved and don't smile or engage with guests, which impacts the overall welcoming atmosphere. Adding walkie-talkies or a communication system could help staff relay when food is running low so guests aren't waiting unnecessarily. The serving area itself could benefit from more décor to create a warm, attractive ambiance that matches the richness of our culture. For example, the appetizer area could work beautifully as a walking cocktail station, where servers circulate to guests instead of having everyone crowd one spot. On the bright side, the bartenders were excellent--friendly, fast, and engaging! The servers were also attentive in clearing tables quickly after guests finished eating, which was appreciated. It would be even better if each table had pitchers of both dark and light sodas to make service smoother. I'm sharing this with love because I want this establishment to shine. With a few updates to hospitality, communication, and ambiance, this could easily become the go-to Haitian dining experience in the area. I'll always root for you! read more

Make sure you read the contract if you are having event at this venue. I had to cancel an event due to a leak without any guarantees that it would be fixed on time prior to the event. The venue couldn't accommodate the 250 guests in the style that I requested. When I contacted management , she stated go read the contract. There is no deposit refund. Lesson learned. read more

Went to this restaurant for my boyfriends grandmother repass, it was a nice venue located in Westbury Long Island. Kinda spacious and has two parts, the food was pretty good. The Macaroni Gratin was really good nice and and I loved the fish with pikliz. The chicken was alright and the rice and beans were alright as well. I loved the salad too The service was alright wasn't too bad, just was a lil disappointing that the tables weren't set properly and it was so hard to find a to go plate to take away the food. They have drinks for sale All in all the spot was good read more

Mirelle's is certainly a decent place to bring your Haitian family and friends for a Sunday dinner. The overall ambience of the location is great: lots of space for seating, elegant decorations and colors, live music, you name it. The service is also very accommodating: the workers are diligent and polite. While I was here, I grabbed quite some platefuls of food. The macaroni gratin is what caught my attention for sure. The color on it is beautiful and the taste matches it. Can't complain at all: presentation, flavor, texture, it's all there. The griot (fried pork) was also made very well and the pikliz that's available to go with it enhanced it quite a bit. The chicken and sauce was rather salty, but nothing that'll stop you from eating it. The salmon had some very interesting seasonings on it. It's a unique taste for sure and it'll prompt you to grab another bite, but it has quite a strong aftertaste. Regardless, the flavor and texture here is great. The lalo was also pretty good. It had a very light taste of greenery and it was almost sweet, which I absolutely enjoyed. The sweet plantains were prepared well: warm and soft with minimal salt, can't complain. Both rices threw me for a spin however: I found that they were pretty stiff. Given that I arrived after everyone had already began eating, it's possible that I received what was at the bottom of the pot or that the rice simply wasn't prepared with enough water. I consider the rice to be the support of the meal overall, so an improvement here would be a large step for the business. Overall, when it comes to creating an enjoyable scene for customers, Mirelle's gets it done. The chefs here are quite some scientists. read more

I enjoyed food in Mirelle's shortly after Christmas!! I went to Mirelle's just to get bite to eat shortly after a funeral I attended!!

I just attended a repast event today, I find it an obligation to post a comment which I normally neglect to do when I go places. I want to say "chapo'w ba to the chef who prepared the soup joumou " it was excellent. My first time at Chez Mireille and I'm not from the area, the service was outstanding. Keep up the great job at a time our image is being tarnished in the media by some deranged monster. read more

I went there with my family on a Sunday afternoon and it was buffet style $40 a person. The food was cold and there were "mites" at our table. The soup was warm & delicious. The restaurant needs a deep cleaning, particularly the carpet. The owner/manager was friendly the two attending staff were ok. read more

We were invited to a wedding hosted at this venue. First of all, there is no valet parking. Secondly, the wait staff was unresponsive. The wedding was delayed by hours. The food was served late and the staff was disorganized. It seemed like there was no communication among the venue and the bride and groom. Thirdly, the food was good and seasoned well. However I would not go back. read more

I have been to Mireille's so many times, and I must there is room for improvement. Haitian food is great. However, the presentation can improve. The piece of chicken and meat can be refined; cut in small pieces for a sophisticated representation. The food is always the same, the same choices no matter what event, day, or time. They need more staff. They are always short of waiters. The waiters need to attend to guests more. If the water pitcher is empty, look to refill it. The ambiance is cool, upscale. The space is clean and modernized including renovations. I would love e to have a mayi moulin with shrimp or red snapper in sauce for brunch as one of the choices for the buffet . read more

My family frequently dines at Mirelle's restaurant. Great ambiance, service and music. We are usually a group of 8 or more. We definitely recommend reservations as it becomes crowded during peak hours from 4pm- 7pm. The food is exactly authentic and flavorful as is should be with spicy pikliz and all!!! The snapper in sauce is so good. Of course you have to have griot and black rice. I'm a loyal customer because this is the ONLY restaurant on Long Island where you get a true cultural upscale Haitian dining experience. read more

mirelle's restaurant was amazing with accommodating my mother's repass. i originally paid for 100 people and about twice as much showed up. despite this, they put out extra tables and chairs and they were still able to feed everyone with food left over! we were just charged for the extra people the day of. all of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. they kept positive attitudes although we had soo much people. we also had to do no work, they do all of the catering, and cleaning after. the food was even brought to us by their own servers. the food tasted SOOOO good! i was surprised at how good the food was. the soup joumou was personally my favorite. the rice, chicken, fish, all was so well seasoned. everyone was raving about it. i highly recommend this place. thank you so much again! read more

We had my mother's suprise birthday party there a few weeks ago. The food and environment was good. My issue with them was the service after the event. We had tons of food left over we paid for so we were trying to pack it up and take it with us. They gave us styrofoam trays instead of the aluminum catering pans. This forced us to take a whole bunch of trays. My mom and I packed at least 20 pieces of salmon fish. When we got home, we had 4 pieces of fish. The only people left were some employees and members of our household. I don't appreciate them not giving us what we needed to Isco the food appropriately and worse of all having employees steal food from us. read more

Attended a reception here after a funeral, and it was nice to have a good meal after an emotional day. For the most part everything went well, I have no complaints, the soup tasted great, and there was plenty of pikliz to go around! I would recommend this to other Haitians for catered events. Good: -A big parking lot but the lot can get filled to capacity quickly -The food tasted good (rice/beans, chicken, macaroni, salad, pikliz, soup) -Big room with plenty of seating -Polite waitstaff Bad: -none read more

Music Venue. Strange place. This is a perfect place for live music- which is getting harder and harder to find on Long Island. The problem is that this was a restaurant, and may still be a restaurant, but from the outside you would never guess that this place housed live music acts! It sort of looks like a chalet or maybe a German restaurant. They should do something with the outside. Aside from the appearance, the actual venue is good. Smallish bar in the rear of the room where the bands set up- acoustically it sounded fine which is pretty amazing since the place clearly did not originate as a music venue. On the downside, it is located on Long Island and you still have some weird stuff like numbers on the tables - they apparently make you reserve tables or stand. I think they could ditch the tables and just get on with it. There was food available if you were seated - the whole affair reminded me of the setup you get at a comedy club. The bartender was competent and took care of things splendidly. Prices were average for the drinks and there was a $10 cover at the door. The bar area houses loads of signed photos from musicians - some of them doubtfully played there but they add a lot of color to the place. It seems that they house up-and-coming talent there -but I'd have to explore that a bit more. I'd definitely go there again. Parking on the street. read more

This place is very unprofessional, I wish I would have read the reviews before hosting my mothers repass here. Its such a shame because this place looks absolutely beautiful, but looks can be very deceiving. The food was mediocre Haitian cuisine, which included rice, macaroni au gratin, chicken and talipia, the beverages they served were completely flat, and the staff had a careless attutude they even ran an hour behind the scheduled time. read more

I have been here a few times and each visit is worse then the last. The service is simply bad. When you ask for Coffee, they bring you cold and diluted coffee. The dinner rolls are old and not fresh and they serve you in the dark not realizing they need to turn on the lights. The decor and atmosphere needs a serious update. Cleary the owner just pockets the money coming and does not reinvest in the business. read more

Food's good but service is BEYOND Snail Slow! Servers are hit or miss with attitude or graciousness. Normally, I'm 90% about the food, with the other percent equally divided between service & ambiance. Forgetting basics like bread & silverware is unacceptable. I will return though because it's difficult finding decent Haitian food anywhere in NY, especially Long Island. Next time, I'll bring my silverware with me. read more

Mirelle's is a treasure for people who love to dance. It is a genuine supper club with a huge wooden floor. The staff is friendly and courteous and there is a cash bar. Every Tuesday you can go and learn Argentine Tango with Diego Blanco and Anita Padron, partake of their buffet and dance all evening for only $18! The last Sunday of every month they have an Argentine Milonga (Tango Party) complete with performances, dinner, Live music, and mixed dancing between sets. I never miss it! read more

Sunday Brunch not to be missed. Great variety of traditional Haitian and and American dishes. The Soup Joumou and Lalo remind me of my grandmother's cooking. Terribly atrocious wait staff. Our first server never returned to our table after he brought our appetizer. We ended up flagging down another server to help us, but she was even worse than the first one. Both employees had so much attitude, no follow up, no table clean-up, putting in the incorrect order, no small plates, no napkins. We tried to order food to go and the server was so rude that we left the food behind after paying for it out of fear....The bartender was pleasant, but the bar (in the room on the parking lot side) had no sink to hold ice or a credit card machine. As a result, the bartender hat to go back and forth constantly. Also, there was no menu provided because there were only three dishes (goat, turkey, and chicken wings) available. Lastly, there needs to be better soundproofing within the venue because we heard the event on the other side very clearly throughout our event. read more

Location - Location - Location. That is the only drawback to this place. They arguably have some of the best live music on Long Island but they are buried in Westbury. They have very good food also but their sound system for live music is second to none. Every band they bring there is incredible. Lori and George who bring in the talent know how to pick 'em and it's a shame this place doesn't get more notoriety and I am leaning towards their location as a reason why. Keep doing what you're doing because I know I will keep coming back. read more

Mirelle's Restaurant is a pearl in the heart of Westbury LI. Some of my most memorable times have been there including weddings, parties or simply to stopping by and get some authentic Haitian food. I referred my uncle to have his wedding reception there and he's still getting compliments from his guests. Having been there myself, the main room was beautifully prepared, the food was succulent, the service was fast, and the staff was attentive to the guests. And not to mention the drinks were nice and strong not watered down like most other places tend to do. I am throwing a birthday party for myself next month and Mirelle's came first to my mind as my venue and I know they won't disappoint! read more

I went here on 5/29/21 for my good friend Aunt's repast. The food was not up to par. The macaroni was burnt, they ran out of chicken and just served the scraps left that fell off the bones. The rice and peas, the rice was overcooked and mushy, the soup was cold even the Ceasar salad was soggy. They severed Tilapia filet fried, but when asked what type of fish it was 2 server's did not know. They did not have enough food for the people that were there. They ran out of soda and had the staff go to Bravo supermarket. They were not prepared once we reached. Another function was going on at the same time which ment over 300 people in the building and 1 bathroom. The wait staff had no manners and were walking around with attitudes. It took me asking 5 times for coffee then another 4 times asking for creamer. Once I received the creamer the coffee was cold. I ordered a cocktail and was told by 4 staff that they were not the bartender. The young lady who was serving the food came from behind and made my drink. I asked her how much and she stated she would get back to me. Then 45 minutes later she came and said I owed $12. So I gave her a $100 bill, she proceeded to ask the wait staff and cook for change. Once she came back she asked me for $2.00 which I didn't have due to only having the $100. So I only paid $10 which was not worth the shot I received of generic liquor. No change in a restaurant, definitely not they way to run a business. They ran out of dinner plates and mixed in salad plates with the dinner plates to serve people. The bar area was cluttered with junk and boxes making it difficult for people to navigate the makeshift buffet. If they were not prepared to accommodate the amount of people then they should not have accepted the reservation They didn't have any sort of music playing. It was supposed to be open bar but they didn't have the liquor to support it. There we guest walking across the street to the liquor store. The best thing was the patties we bought in for people to have prior to dinner. I will never patronize this place again. Management/Owners need to really look into what is being done. The owners live in a mansion would they have served this food to their guest or even provided the crappy service. I think not. To me it seemed as they were more intrested in making money off of people and not the quality of service. As a food business owner myself. This would not have happened in my establishment. People use places by word of mouth and how the food taste. Whenever I come in contact with anyone asking for Hatien-Creole food I will tell them not to use this business or hold anything there. Honestly the family should be refunded a portion of what they paid. Unprofessional. read more

Absolutely, the worst service I have ever had. Completely disorganized. ESP. Since our family event was paid for and noted a week in advance. My family could have done better renting a space in our buildings multipurpose room and cooked the food ourselves. My mom's party was supposed to be from 7-11, with the cocktail hour starting at 7, the food didn't come out until 8. The staff at Mirelle's isn't very attentive, they lack in good customer service. I did an open tab at the bar and some employees were drinking on the tab and had the audacity to bill me with their included drinks. I know they billed me their drinks along with the party guests drinks because not that many people drank from my party. I hardly saw my guests drinking.
