A little bit of everything
Phil L.

The decor and dining area is very antiquated lol. It channels 1980s chanm salonn. I visited with my sister, my brother in law and niece and nephew. He is Jamaican, and his two children are more familiar with Jamaican fare. They were just complaining about how they barely like Haitian food but they CLEANED their plates! Even the least appetizing dish (Haitian mac and cheese) was devoured. Thank you Neguess for a beautiful experience and for converting unfamiliar taste buds.

This place is amazing! For authentic Haitian food that tastes fresh and flavorful, this is the spot to try! I wanted to branch out and discovered this local spot on Yelp. The reviews were so good that i couldn't wait to see for myself! The food definitely did not disappoint! In fact, I have recommended it to lots of Haitian friends who are looking for a taste of home! I had the stewed chicken with black rice, plantains and a side of pikliz. The pikliz packed a punch, which I'm sure will be perfect for someone who likes the heat! The chicken was tender, and the black rice was super addicting! I ordered the large portion, which was enough for at least 2 full meals. Pro tip: Call 15-20 minutes before you are planning to pick up your meal, and it will be freshly made! The first time I tried the restaurant I went inside to order and ended up waiting 30 minutes for my food! It was super fresh and tasted amazing, but I would've preferred to have spent that time traveling there instead.

The food here is authentic and tasty. I always get fried Red snapper, rice and beans and legume. I've also had their white rice w/ sauce pois before which was good as well as their vegetable soup joumu. I will definitely return in the future.

I must have passed this gem of a joint a million times to and from home in my neighborhood and have barely noticed it. The only thing I regret regarding my visit today was that I have not discovered it earlier. It is rather understated. The decor is a bit stark and an odd mixture of paintings of various themes and styles, and very few tables. A beverage fridge is in tge dining area for diners to retrieve their own drinks. The food is ordered through a tiny window to the kitchen with no table service. Let all of these not fool you. This place is the real thing! It's superb food is amazing! The lady taking the orders was pleasant and helpful. Again, if you want to experience Hatian food at its best this is a must! I tried the Lalo as well as Diri Jon Jon and both did not disappoint.

Griot / Fried Pork $18 that came with my choice of black rice. Other option was plantains. So delicious!

Ordered and picked up my dish and it only took 5-7 min to wait. The sauces that came with my Griot was so good. I am definitely coming back to try more.

I love Haitian food and couldn't wait to try this spot. I ordered over the phone, the small chicken and gravy with white rice and the brown sauce and fried plantain. I really wanted black rice but they had no more. When I arrived I parked in front of the restaurant. I walked in and the nice young lady took my payment and it was $10.66. She handed me my food and I left. When I got to the car I dug in. The chicken was decent, the rice was nice and buttery, the black sauce was bland and the plaintain needed salt. I ate until the meat was gone and threw the rest away. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best either.

I have been searching for a place with authentic tasting Haitian cuisine to feed my family. I am happy to say that I finally found it. The first time I tried their food I was blown away by how delicious everything tasted and the generous portions . I ordered the griot, turkey, and chicken. They all were seasoned well and delicious. My husband is haitian and said that everything he tasted, including the white bean sauce remInded him of being back home. The different rices we ordered were very good also. Hats off to the cooks in the kitchen!!! In addition, the young lady that I placed my order with was very nice both on the phone and when I picked up my food If your looking for a place with authenticity, this it where you want to go. Since our first visit we have returned even though we have to travel a little over 20 minutes to get there. So happy I decided to try them. LAJUAN

Poule (chicken/fried), diri djon djon (black rice), banan peze (fried plantains)

I found this place from Instagram and knew I had to try right away. I ordered using Uber eats to my job and made my staff order with me since many of them have never tried Haitian food. Now when I say they all loved it!!! I stuck to chicken but they got griot (fried pork) and they said it was delicious. The rice was good, the portions were huge, and the prices are reasonable. They had to call me because one item wasn't ready in time but their customer service was so friendly. I would definitely recommend this place!

The sauce pois was burnt and too much bay leaves in the lalo. Plantains were bland. I like the ambiance there but the food needs more work.

Delicious Haitian food. If you speak French (or better yet Haitian Creole) it will prove very useful because some of the staff don't understand English. Or if you don't speak French or Creole, perhaps one of the customers can help translate for you. Anyways the food is quite good. Street parking. If you get salad with your meal be careful of the little paper bowl of what innocently appears to be "salad dressing" because it is very , very hot. The piclis (spicy cabbage) is very hot also. A very popular place, so be prepared to wait a bit for your food or if you speak French consider calling ahead if you know what you want. There are photos of some of the dishes out front and a text menu above the counter where one orders. However neither has prices and it seems like in reality they have a few dishes they make each day, not everything on the menu, so you may just have to ask what is available and what the pricing is. I tried fried fish with rice and beans, tostones, salad, and piclese and I was quite satisfied with the meal. One can order full or half portions of some items.

Today, I actually overheard a staff member say she would have spit in the food if given the chance. That level of disrespect and lack of food safety is unacceptable. Save your money and go to Epis Grill or other local Haitian spots that actually serve quality food and treat people right.
