Food isn't good. Attitude of the people who are working is not good. I've been there two times and it's the same.

We've been to this place a few times last year and then ordered takeout a couple of times this year. My uncle had raved about it so it was on his recommendation that we went. The food is good. No doubt there. Whoever is the chef/ cook knows his Pakistani food and does a great job. But it's difficult to enjoy the food when the service is a hit and miss. Some days we have gotten great service and then other times, it's been cold and rude as if we the customers are an inconvenience. And tbh, it's been more rude days than good. It's not just us. We've seen other customers, both takeout orders and restaurant ones, deal with the same disrespect and leave exasperated. We had stopped going there as much and even cooled down with the takeouts because of this but yesterday we were in the area and figured we'd stop for dinner, hoping for the best. I joined my parents later on and just from the look on their faces, I could tell they were getting bad service. Needless to say, it really took the fun out of the dining experience which is a pity because the food was delicious as usual. I don't know why there is such a lack of courtesy towards the customers. In general, I usually don't have high expectations of good customer service in Pakistani and Indian restaurants but this one is really at the bottom of the pile. Sucks because who knows, they could make way more profit from just being a little decent and courteous towards the patrons. People tend to go to places with good service even if the food is mediocre but they will definitely stop going if the service is bad regardless of how delicious the food. I know I always hesitate to recommend this place to anyone I know because I don't want them getting treated badly, no matter how good the food. TLDR - Food is good but zero respect and courtesy towards the customer. Risk at your own peril. read more

Love love love love this restaurant. They spices are just right. The chicken is always tender and never dry. The garlic naan is amazing very fresh never stale, like other restaurants. Ugh it's comfort food when I'm having a bad day! You won't regret eating here. read more

I was in the area running food deliveries with my friend and searched for Indian food then I found Mirichi. After my wonderful experience with them I now rave about it to office workers near by. The meal was filling as it was flavorful. Before this experience I had only tasted Indian food once. When I walked in I felt welcomed and the lady at the counter assisted me in what pairs well together. The popular items were all out because they had catered the next day which I didn't mind. I understand how business can be. I can taste the love cooked into the food... I'm happy to say the customs and traditional spices came to life within the food and in the air. I ordered a lamb Korma dish with mini samosas it had came with a yogurt sauce maybe raita or mint chutney (which I've only had once before). The waitress was quite attentive and funny. I loved her! I didn't catch her name. When it came time for me to get up to go to the bathroom, the waitress informed me her auntie was praying in the bathroom so I waited a bit until I walked in to wash my hands. The restroom was clean with a lot of napkins and smelled of burning incense, very calming. The food gave me itis but it was well worth it. When I mixed the korma and yogurt sauce on a small plate that was divine. I'm so used to certain spices such as cumin, chili powder, adobo and Tony Chachere's... So this food experience was riveting and insightful. It opened my eyes to taste new foods.. change up my palette. I was warned that the korma had lots of tiny bones and if you're not careful it may get stuck in your throat. Haha sadly that happened to me and my cousin. When I sopped up korma with the naan I would take in small bones from the meat and it's sauce. I also liked that the extra naan was free of charge. First time here and I'm annoyed. First, they overcharged for what they serve you. Second, when I called to place an order, the man told me it will be about 8 to 10 pieces of chicken. WRONG. It was 5 pieces when I opened it. Also, if that's what you call a salad, I feel for you. Some lettuce, three pieces of tomatoes and random onion slices. This place is literally a hole in the wall type of restaurant. The restaurant is located to the rear if the plaza near K-mart. It is right next to an Indian Grocery Store. We waited about 40 minutes before our food came out but it was well worth the wait. They prepare every meal to order and you can taste the freshness and quality. The food was amazing. We ordered Naan bread and a couple authentic Palestinian dishes. The best Naan bread I've ever tasted. The prices are reasonable and the staff are super friendly. We will be back! read more

We met a lady that talked about this place (in addition to the store next door) and we decided to eat lunch here. In walking in, we noticed they had a little lunch buffet set up. We asked how much and it seemed reasonable to both of us, so we picked a table and dug in. I wish my husband had looked under each tray lid first as he is vegetarian and there were only two of the five things being offered that he could even eat, to be honest even the rice had chicken in it- but he picked it out. Overall he is such a fan of Indian food or anything from other cultures, especially the more unusual the better for him. lol He just ate his fill of the chickpeas and rice and whatever the sweet paste was (I guessed mango?) We both enjoyed lunch and I enjoyed it even more because he paid. lol I hope to come back sometime and see what's on their menu! Bought lamb biriyani last night loved it! With all that's going on at the moment, needed my comfort food and made a long trip ALL the way. Extremely, extremely disappointed. For $6.99 the channas were not worth it. Had to skim offtons of oil from the top and the Puris were SOAKED/DRENCHED in oil. The keema samosas were the tiny cocktail ones and unlike the website were $4.99 for three tiny pieces..seriously! At a time like this most restaurants are making a special effort, come on guys!! Before ordering, you should be aware that online ordering is not available, the restaurant owners themselves are confused why there is an option of ordering online and said it's an external company, and prices are not accurate. Don't be shocked if the total is different than what you calculated off yelp! However that being said they still have extremely good prices and delicious halal food! Located in a very quiet part of the shopping center is Mirchi. This place is really legit Indian/Pakistani food. I had the place bookmarked for quite some time and had decided it was finally time to try it out. When I walked in, something that another guest had caught my eye. I asked the restaurant staff what it was and he noted that it was the lunch special. The lunch special was $4.99 and came with two entrees, a side salad, and Naan bread. This was def. enough to fill one up and the taste was really delicious and authentic. I also ordered the mango Lassi drink which was a great way to compliment the spicyness of the dish. First time trying this place, but not the first time trying Pakistani food. The food itself is very delicious. The wait is a little long, but the main entrees are tasteful and very well prepared. However, the salad offered was very bland, it did not seem very fresh and had no dressing, just lettuce, carrots and tomatoes. The main issue with this establishment and what I tackle in this review is the service and misinformation. First time here, I ask for a menu and am told there is no menu aside from the pictures on the wall. This is very confusing as there is no way to get the price for naan or rice without asking. While deciding what to order, I asked the server specifically what the Chicken Roti was, and after hearing what it was, I ordered it. After the long wait, The server hands me a dish that looks exactly like the Chicken Karahi and says it is the Chicken Roti. I remind him I specifically asked him what was in the chicken Roti, and that the dish he handed me has none of the same ingredients he described, however he insists it is the chicken Roti. I walk back to the front counter and say it doesn't look remotely similar to the chicken Roti, but rather the chicken Karahi. He continues to insist it is still the same and that the pictures of the wall aren't updated and that the real food looks different from the picture. This makes no sense to me. If a restaurant doesn't have a full menu, and you can't trust the pictures, and the server tells you ingredients in a dish that end up NOT being in the dish ?... How can I be happy with this service... Ultimately I sent the dish back, and decided not to order anything, as I did not want to experience another long wait for a dish. As an additional side note, we ordered three garlic naans, but received two garlic naans and one regular. This, piled onto the Chicken Roti issue, made me very frustrated with the service. Additional salt in the wound. All in all, moving forward I would suggest having a full menu with prices, and "updated pictures". The food itself was very tasty and rich, a little bit on the lower side for portions, but the poor service ruined the experience. If I ever come back, it's only for take out. Phenomenal little hole in the wall that doesn't get as much foot traffic as it should. Especially since the Kmart right next door closed. The place serves Afghan food which is very similar to a mix between typical middle eastern food and Indian food. They are very friendly and welcoming the store is extremely quiet when I went. Their lunch special is insane! It ends at 3 pm so if you're grabbing a lunch that's probably the best place to head to if you're looking for a nice cheap place to eat. The place is a little worn in but it's nothing I would consider ghetto or sketch for riverside. Super flavorful food and warm, friendly service! My friend suggested we try Pakistani food tonight and I was not disappointed. We tried the samosas and ordered chicken biryani and chicken karahi as our main dishes, and I added a mango lassi, a flavored yogurt drink. All the food tasted fresh and homemade, but the wait wasn't long at all since it was a Sunday evening. All in all, a very pleasant experience and I'm sure I will be back to try the rest of the dishes :) read more

Well... I was hesitant go in for one - it's located in a off the beaten path area that's located behind Jack in the Box - which is an area frequented transients. My thing is if they're not getting enough customers their food can't be too "fresh" if you catch my drift. Second, I didn't see a health grade in the window. We then told to seat ourselves and the tabled we first picked was dirty. And then we looked around and there were two tables that each had a cup on them as if they were already taken. Kinda odd considering there was no other patrons in the restaurant but us. *********** The Food ********** The food arrived about 20 or so minutes later and surprisingly, it was good. The Tikka Masala was not the best I've had, but it was good. The Spinach and Potatoes was good although it needed a little bit of salt. The Naan was probably the best I've had. It was very garlicky and fluffy. The server even came back and checked on us, which was a plus. Then towards the end of our meal a man, who looked a little disheveled, walked in and walked towards the kitchen area. I made eye contact with him and he didn't say a thing. I thought it was odd that he didn't say "hi" or anything since he must some employee or something. ****************** Patron Neglect ******************* A couple of minutes later I saw our sever take a box out the front door and drive off never to be seen by us again. About fifteen minutes later we were done eating and no other sever (or anyone else) came out to check on us. No one gave us a bill. We sat there for a bit waiting for someone to come out from the back of the restaurant. I got tired of waiting and went to the front ordering area to see if I could get someone's attention. I then noticed that they had a buzzer on the counter that you ring for service. Another oddity, but I went with it and rung the bell, and out came the man I had seen earlier. I asked for a couple of boxes to go and and a bag. He went in the back and I could hear him asking someone in the back where the bags were. Nevertheless, he came back with the boxes but no bag. I guess they ran out - I dunno. ********* Overall ********* In a nutshell, the restaurant could use some tidying up, the tables should be cleaned up after people leave, and they need better customer service.
