    Mutton dum biryani

Mutton dum biryani was excellent. Portions are very generous too. I think I could eat one order three times. They included the bones so every now and then you get a piece with some marrow, so good! Spices are very fun. Without the yogurt sauce I would've died but that's cause I'm a wussy. Front of house staff was very polite and helpful. Can't wait to come back and try another variation of spices. Maybe just going to order mild instead of medium

Samosas $4.99. Sauce was good just not enough of it, outside is very good and crunchy yet soft but inside lacking flavor.

I went here on a whim because I left the smoke shop next door. I ordered samosas ($4.99) and boneless chicken biryani (14.99). The portion was good can feed two people easily. Took about 20 minutes to get my order. The samosas were cooked nicely but both orders were lacking some kind of spice I can't put my finger on it. Just different from all the other Indian places I've tried. The rice itself didn't have any flavor and had to be paired with the chicken. Same the samosas like no flavor inside which is disappointing because the outside was cooked perfectly. The sauce they gave me, was decent but like why so little sauce? It was only enough for one samosa. I came in on a weekday around 6 pm there was nobody there. The woman who took my order couldn't figure out how to use the machine and I had to repeat my order one by one and slowly and then repeat again. Then after asking her child for help on the machine she coughed in my face without covering her mouth or turning away. After that she asked me if I was paying with card or cash and I said card, which I should have been more clear and said Apple Pay because the Apple Pay machine was just sitting right there. I did the Apple Pay not once but twice, the screen said "authorization required" and I'm puzzled because I use my Apple Pay every single day and just used it at the smoke shop next door. So inevitably it is their machine that has a problem. I pulled out my traditional debit card, only a slight inconvenience. Anyways, I'm giving it two stars because the lady and her children were nice, but after eating the food I didn't exactly feel like I was in "Biryani Heaven."

I was really excited to give this place a chance. It's sad that I had to drive almost an hour only to find it closed. Their website, Yelp and Google all say that they are open. Not a good way to attract new customers or even hold onto existing ones if this is their mode of operation.

After reading the reviews, I now see that the ownership has changed. Makes sense for the change in atmosphere and quality. The samosas used to be packed with stuffing and flavorful. Now the samosas I got recently are cold and smaller. The crust also seems to be different? It was almost burnt tasting. The icing on the cake (and the reason for my review) is the metal I found in my rice. I thought it was a spice at first but I'm glad I checked it before I ate it. Looks like part of the metal scrubber used to clean dishes. When I called them to let them know, the lady who answered didn't even try to make it right or offer a refund or replacement. She was nice and apologized but my meal was kind of ruined by the piece of metal so it would've been nice to at least gotten the option to replace it. Not sure if I will be coming back. Sad to see the old owners go. The old lady was always so friendly and welcoming.

I received the kindest welcome and delightful service and help from Nisha, who explained the dishes to me and recommended The Combo for my first visit. I loved each and every one of them! I even had leftovers to bring home, which I am already looking forward to enjoying. The garlic naan bread is out of this world! Their Mango Lassi is indescribably delicious and Nisha informed me that the yogurt they use is made fresh in the restaurant. It tasted so clean and amazing. Definitely going to be hooked on that!!! Overview: Great deal, food, and service, perfect for a quick dine-in meal or ordering to-go…read more ---- We were driving back to San Diego from Mammoth and was craving Indian Food. We found this place online and decided to fuel our bellies here. Upon entering there are seats on both sides of the restaurant with the serving area and cashier in the middle. We decided to dine-in and they helped us with ordering. I ordered the Dinner Special Thali ($15.99) which comes with 2 entrees, daal, rice, naan, mango lassi, samosa or kheer. I was allowed to choose 3 entrees of my choice from the select options they had in their serving area (not from all the entrees they have on their menu). I like options and variety, so from their limited entrees I chose mushroom saag (spinach based), chicken tikka, and their paneer tikka. I'm glad I got to taste different options but I like the chicken the best. I also chose the kheer and got the mango lassi as my drink. My boyfriend ordered the butter chicken ($14.99), basmati rice ($3.99), and the cheese naan which we asked if they can add garlic and they kindly did ($4.99). Everything was delicious and came out in a timely manner. On the tv's they were playing Indian music and their music videos, which were entertaining to watch. ---- Overall: the price point and tasty food are reasons we'd be stopping by if we're ever in the area again or driving back to SD, definitely check this place out if you want some yummy Indian food in Riverside at a reasonable price!

Garlic Naan and a Mango Lassi (up charge). - Samosa Chaat: 2 Samosas cut up and topped with Chana Masala, yogurt, chutneys, raw onions and cilantro. My first time ever trying this and it will definitely not be my last. It was so good! All the savory and sweet flavors combined with the different textures from the soft and crisp samosas to the crunchy raw onions, just wow! They were kind enough to honor my request for extra chutneys on the side, so I added those liberally to each bite and put it on top of a piece of garlic naan. Mind-blown!! Deliciousness Rating: 10/5 - Saag Paneer (part of combo): Probably one of the best Saag I've ever had. Not super blended and mushy like other places. This still had texture and was really flavorful. Wish I had ordered more. Deliciousness Rating: 5/5 - Aloo Gobi (part of combo): This was served in a thin wet sauce and I'm used to the style that is sautéed dry, so this version was not my preference. I also had 1 piece of cauliflower in the entire cup. Probably won't order again. Deliciousness Rating: 3/5 - Chicken Tikka Masala (part of combo): A little too sweet for my preference, but the chicken was moist and the sauce was creamy. Deliciousness Rating: 3/5 - Garlic naan was perfectly cooked. The bread was thick and soft with a hint of garlic. Deliciousness Rating: 4/5 - Mango Lassi: Sadly, I never received. It was not delivered with my order, so I'm unable to review it. One thing I'd like to mention for the owner is that when trying to order food for pickup/delivery, either through the Naan Cafe website or DoorDash/Uber Eats, there are several inconsistencies. Multiple items that are on your menu are not available to order on the app/website. Please update so that your pickup and delivery customers have the same options available as the in-person customers do.
