I love Indian food and was shocked to realize this little place was so close to home, tucked away in the far end of the Ralph's shopping center . My group of 4 arrived promptly at 11am, when Yelp stated they were open, but I saw that they had opened a little early and two customers were already served and seated. There were 4 or 5 interior tables that could seat groups of 4. When you walk inside you go straight to the counter to order your food. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us with a big smile and explained the menu. They have 3 combo options (1 vs 2 vs 3 entree) that includes the foods in the hot food display counter or you could order a larger size portion as a single entree off the menu. Things in the hot food display were 1. Chicken tikka masala (spicy and non spicy options) 2. Vegetable Korma 3. Goat Curry (extra$). 4. Saag Paneer 5. Tandoori chicken 6. Aloo Gobi 7. Lentil dish, and I think some others but can't remember!! Anyways after you pick at the counter the employees scoop it in front of you - with the combo meals you get rice and naan. We all chose combos so we could try the different dishes. I really love eggplant and was bummed it was not on the hot selections but guess what? Nice man made it for us anyways to put in our combos!!!! All the flavoring of the food was on point and delicious! The spicy tikka masala is not something for the weak so if you don't like heat then order the "regular" tikki masala. Meat was tender on the goat and chicken dishes. My favorite however was the eggplant, I seriously could eat it everyday Staff were so sweet and kind. We even had a nice conversation about shared interests (running races) and he shared a story about his friend doing the Everest marathon and showed us the pictures. Amazing!! So support small businesses my friends because this was yet again another hidden gem in riverside!

Came here after it was highly recommended from a friend. Pros - Great flavor on the tika masala Cons - Skimpy on the chicken Both the chicken in my tika masala and my tandoori chicken were really dry. My food was room temp at best...... Service was whatever; fast but unenthusiastic. It's a shame because the flavor on the masala was probably one of the best I've had.

    Chicken Tikka Masala

As a namaste regular, i can say that im pretty disappointed with the serving portion on this last visit. I ordered the combo #1 chicken tikka which is only one slot of meat and rice, but the amount of chicken i got (4 small chunks) is unacceptable. I usually expect all my rice to get sauced as well and i only got a little dab of it as you can see. On a side note, the naan was very doughy as well and had no flavor. Its very inconsistent ordering here and it really depends on who is taking the order whether or not you get your moneys worth. The food is good usually i would just like more of it if im paying nearly 15 bucks for a combo #1. The vibes are cool though.

I usually go with waba grill or flame broiler but i decided to give this place a shot. And let me tell you... it did not disappoint. Chicken tiki masala is delicious! I also got the lamb. It was good but i relly liked the chicken. Staff were very nice. Definitely would come back

Just some of the many wonderful options

The food is always amazing but the service is always outstanding, I come here and feel like family. The ambiance is just at home and wonderful, I've been coming since sixth grade and now I'm 20. Come and enjoy yourself your will!!!

This is top notch. Mind you this is northern Indian and not to be compared with southern I found it since it was close to the military base and I so glad I tried it. To start the home made lentil soup was hearty and lentils had excellent texture so you can tell it fresh and yet it was complimentary. I had the bone in goat briyani which was succulent, huge portions and paired with their Raita it was perfectly balanced . Compared to the classic Hyderabadi style this has less spices and overall ingredients but it's more savory which is common with most northern style Indian food. Just a gem of place

We found this place online and decided to fuel our bellies here. Upon entering there are seats on both sides of the restaurant with the serving area and cashier in the middle. We decided to dine-in and they helped us with ordering. I ordered the Dinner Special Thali ($15.99) which comes with 2 entrees, daal, rice, naan, mango lassi, samosa or kheer. I was allowed to choose 3 entrees of my choice from the select options they had in their serving area (not from all the entrees they have on their menu). I like options and variety, so from their limited entrees I chose mushroom saag (spinach based), chicken tikka, and their paneer tikka. I'm glad I got to taste different options but I like the chicken the best. I also chose the kheer and got the mango lassi as my drink. My boyfriend ordered the butter chicken ($14.99), basmati rice ($3.99), and the cheese naan which we asked if they can add garlic and they kindly did ($4.99). Everything was delicious and came out in a timely manner. On the tv's they were playing Indian music and their music videos, which were entertaining to watch. ---- Overall: the price point and tasty food are reasons we'd be stopping by if we're ever in the area again or driving back to SD, definitely check this place out if you want some yummy Indian food in Riverside at a reasonable price!

Everyone was friendly and welcoming, which made the visit more enjoyable. Prices are around $20 per plate, which is reasonable, especially since we ordered a few dishes and shared everything. Service-wise, the wait time was a bit longer than expected. Our food took about 30 minutes to come out, and it felt even longer considering it wasn't a busy weekend. Not a huge issue, but something to keep in mind if you're really hungry. Food was interesting in a good way. The curry dishes have a lighter color and a different flavor compared to typical Indian cuisine. You can tell it's a Pakistani style. I enjoyed trying something different, although I personally still prefer the richer, more familiar Indian flavors. The samosas were very good, and the green sauce, I believe it's called hari, was especially delicious and added a nice kick. The mango lassi drink was a surprise highlight. I'm usually not a big fan of mango lassi, but this one was super delicious. Honestly felt like a hidden gem on the menu. ***One thing to note, check your receipt before paying. They already include an 18% gratuity, and there's still a section to add an additional tip. Overall, the food was delicious, portions were satisfying, and we all left full and happy. Solid 4 stars. I'd come back again, just with a little patience for the wait.

It has a very beautiful, artistic interior and clean look that makes a wonderful impression. The walls are painted in vibrant colors and designs. Even the bathroom is upgraded and gorgeous. They made a conscious effort to make their establishment very inviting. 5 stars for its upgrades in such a otherwise downy strip mall. We have tried several relatively new Indian restaurants in the past few months. The food, even when requested to be mild, had a bit more sting to it than I had hoped. That makes an impression that leads me to rate this as better than some, but not my favorite. First was an appetizer, a huge portion of Samosa Chaat. I was disappointed that the samosas were not particularly crisp after being smothered in the rich spicy gravy, chickpeas, and tamarind and mint sauces. It is a very pretty appetizer and very filling, but the overall spicy heat made it borderline inedible for me. Our second dish, the Butter Chicken, was very nice. There was plenty of dark meat chicken, tender and juicy, in the traditional, orange, creamy sauce. It was not only delicious with its exotic spice blend, it helped cool down the insides of my mouth while I was struggling with our other two dishes. Our final selection was the Aloo Gobi, basically, potato and cauliflower and a boatload of mixed spices. Sadly, this was too hot-spicy for wimpy me to enjoy. Again, we had requested each dish be prepared as "mild". I'm pretty sure they could have toned it down more than they did. Overall, a solid 4 stars is what I feel is fair. The prices were good, the servings were respectable, we had no complaints about the service, and the decor was very pretty. For those, unlike me, who can better handle the heat, it might have ranked higher.

After reading the reviews, I now see that the ownership has changed. Makes sense for the change in atmosphere and quality. The samosas used to be packed with stuffing and flavorful. The icing on the cake (and the reason for my review) is the metal I found in my rice. I thought it was a spice at first but I'm glad I checked it before I ate it. Looks like part of the metal scrubber used to clean dishes. When I called them to let them know, the lady who answered didn't even try to make it right or offer a refund or replacement. She was nice and apologized but my meal was kind of ruined by the piece of metal so it would've been nice to at least gotten the option to replace it. Not sure if I will be coming back.
