I have never had chicken tiki masala and butter chicken looks like this. I'm afraid to eat it.

Beware you might get this if you order butter chicken and chicken tiki masala. Overcooked or old?

$4.99 one veg combo with added Samosa for $1

Been here a few times but our first time eating the food today. It is so good! When you first step in, the delicious aroma hits you. Eggplant was delicious! Samosas were on point & man those Indian pickles! If you're looking for an Indian spot that sells meat, look elsewhere. But I promise you won't miss it!

All kinds of flour.

I've been a semi-regular now for nye on ten years (probably more years off than on) but this Indian Market feels like the real deal. There's so much stuff I tend to browse the aisles checking out everything before I remember what I came for. Spices: Ever wonder what some of the stuff in Indian cookbooks actually looks like? I can assure you from experience that lacking even one ingredient leads to disappointing results (what the hell is missing)? Try... fenugreek, or maybe it's the black mustard seed or something you can't get anywhere else? The good news is that they stock every kind of lentil, rice and spice you can possibly need. Prices are reasonable and I occasionally buy a duplicate so keep a list of what you need for certain recipies prior to leaving home. Hungry? They have a steam table with a few Indian classics plus lots of sweet treats (my neighbors bring those by and they're delicious) that resemble donuts and swizzle sticks or marbles. The tastes are exotic (cardamom and cinnamon) but it's worth trying at least once. Nicknacks: Tucked away in the darker corner of the store are useful serving implements (cheap metal spoons and strainers) and serving dishes. They have several sizes of ingredient dishes to stage your pre-measured spices! Verdict: One of several Indian markets in town, New India Sweets is my favorite.

Naan delicious the samosa great, potatoes and peppers awesome & I am now a fan of lentils, green dipping sauce sweet with a slight spice.

Plenty of Vegan options, all you gotta do is ask whomever is behind the counter ,everyone is nice and very helpful in telling you what's in the food.Me and my daughter (2yrs old) both us vegan went in and came out with Combo #1 Rice ,potatoes and peppers and lentils which is $5.49 we also got a samosa for $1 dollar, I regret not buy more lol we also got some naan bread which was made vegan too as we asked ,for only $1.50.Everything was soo good I loved it my daughter loved it and we had enough food left for another meal for mom went she gets home. Will be coming back for sure for more food.

The normal for me.

I've been meaning to post this for a while. I want to say this is the best kept secret for Vegetarian Indian food in Riverside, I visit this gem located right behind Bakers off of Blaine and Iowa, about 3-4 times a week. New India Sweets and Spice is an Indian Market, with a kitchen inside. Think of like a Chinese Take-Out restaurant. I typically get a one item meal, which include a veg buffet item, rice or rotti, and chutney. I'll grab a soda (coke of course) and my meal is generally around $5.00, give or take. There are 2 and 3 item options as well. You can eat there, or take it to go. Its really fast. Different items every day. If you get the Masla Dosa you will not be disappointed. it is a bit spicy, but SO good!! Your food is typically out in 3-5 minutes and walking around the market is fun while you wait. The owners are a older man and woman, and they are great. There's always a Hindi movie playing on the TV, and the sweets selection is mind blowing- ludoo's are my thing after I eat. This place is great for UCR students, or lunch on the go. I stop in after work to grab dinner sometimes. And the best part, a cup of chai is free with your meal, or while you wait. It makes me feel like i'm at my own nani's house. I really have nothing bad to say about this place. Check it out for sure.

We ordered some quick snacks and loved it! It was very cheap like only $.99, living on Oahu for so long, this is practically free.

This is top notch. Mind you this is northern Indian and not to be compared with southern I found it since it was close to the military base and I so glad I tried it. To start the home made lentil soup was hearty and lentils had excellent texture so you can tell it fresh and yet it was complimentary. I had the bone in goat briyani which was succulent, huge portions and paired with their Raita it was perfectly balanced . Compared to the classic Hyderabadi style this has less spices and overall ingredients but it's more savory which is common with most northern style Indian food. Just a gem of place

Always a pleasure and will be coming back again soon. From a review I started last year that I never finished, we got these that time and enjoyed them: #4 Pappadum (spicy crispy wafers) #10 fish pakora (fish pieces dipped in mildly spiced chickpea batter) #43 lamb tikka masala #47 chicken makhani 1 gallon of mango lassi #76 garlic naan

My group of 4 arrived promptly at 11am, when Yelp stated they were open, but I saw that they had opened a little early and two customers were already served and seated. There were 4 or 5 interior tables that could seat groups of 4. When you walk inside you go straight to the counter to order your food. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us with a big smile and explained the menu. They have 3 combo options (1 vs 2 vs 3 entree) that includes the foods in the hot food display counter or you could order a larger size portion as a single entree off the menu. Things in the hot food display were 1. Chicken tikka masala (spicy and non spicy options) 2. Vegetable Korma 3. Goat Curry (extra$). 4. Saag Paneer 5. Tandoori chicken 6. Aloo Gobi 7. Lentil dish, and I think some others but can't remember!! Anyways after you pick at the counter the employees scoop it in front of you - with the combo meals you get rice and naan. We all chose combos so we could try the different dishes. I really love eggplant and was bummed it was not on the hot selections but guess what? Nice man made it for us anyways to put in our combos!!!! All the flavoring of the food was on point and delicious! The spicy tikka masala is not something for the weak so if you don't like heat then order the "regular" tikki masala. Meat was tender on the goat and chicken dishes. My favorite however was the eggplant, I seriously could eat it everyday Staff were so sweet and kind. We even had a nice conversation about shared interests (running races) and he shared a story about his friend doing the Everest marathon and showed us the pictures. Amazing!! So support small businesses my friends because this was yet again another hidden gem in riverside!

Absolutely wonderful!…read more Our first visit (and many more will come): warm welcome, amazing service, delicious food! We tried Al Karam out as we were told that the restaurant is the best Pakistani restaurant in the Inland Empire and this is 100% true! Veggie Pakora: just the right amount of spices - deliciously crispy and tender on the inside. Lamb Karahi: tender lamb in a wonderful tomato based sauce. we were asked for spice level: asked for level 7 out of 10 (will try higher next time). Paneer Tikka Masala: Paneer texture was just right (often and easy for overcook), flavors were great! Portion is large Mango Lassi: what a great treat! Garlic Naan and Large Rice: great side dishes - cooks take their time to prepare them, a sign of the general super high quality! Highly recommended! If you never tried Pakistani food, you needed try Al Karam out

Everyone was friendly and welcoming, which made the visit more enjoyable. Prices are around $20 per plate, which is reasonable, especially since we ordered a few dishes and shared everything. Service-wise, the wait time was a bit longer than expected. Our food took about 30 minutes to come out, and it felt even longer considering it wasn't a busy weekend. Not a huge issue, but something to keep in mind if you're really hungry. Food was interesting in a good way. The curry dishes have a lighter color and a different flavor compared to typical Indian cuisine. You can tell it's a Pakistani style. I enjoyed trying something different, although I personally still prefer the richer, more familiar Indian flavors. The samosas were very good, and the green sauce, I believe it's called hari, was especially delicious and added a nice kick. The mango lassi drink was a surprise highlight. I'm usually not a big fan of mango lassi, but this one was super delicious. Honestly felt like a hidden gem on the menu. ***One thing to note, check your receipt before paying. They already include an 18% gratuity, and there's still a section to add an additional tip. Overall, the food was delicious, portions were satisfying, and we all left full and happy. Solid 4 stars. I'd come back again, just with a little patience for the wait.
