Fish Pakora
Smrithi S.

We were in Broadway to eat at another place that closed earlier than we expected and we ended up eating in Mirch Masala since it was close. We got Fish Pakora, Lamb Boti Kebab, Paneer garlic naan, Chana Masala and Roti. We liked Paneer garlic naan the best, Fish Pakora was good. Lamb Boti Kebab and Chana Masala were disappointing.

Service as attentive and friendly. They even accepted a Restaurant.com coupon from 2017! And we were told we could have as much rice as needed. We like rice so this was nice to hear! The food was a solid 4 stars. The Matter Paneer was very tasty and the Aloo Gobhi had a nice amount of cauliflower. We ordered medium spicy and found it pretty mild, so keep this in mind if you like heat. The Kheer was very refreshing but the cardoman/saffron? was difficult to taste.

My daughter and I stumbled upon this restaurant after we found out the sushi spot was closed but we were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was very clean and seemed new. The wait staff was very attentive and the food came out quickly. We ordered chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, garlic naan and rice. The chicken was tender and the sauce was smooth and slightly creamy. Although it lacked a little depth in spices, it was still very tasty. I loved my palak paneer, it had medium heat and had a good amount of paneer. The naan completed the meal perfectly. We ran out of rice and they gave us more without extra charge! If your hitting some thrift stores in Capitol Hill, come stop in for a bite!

Amazing curry! Loved the Spinach Naan! Will definitely be back! Parking is a little tough, but you can park in the middle lane and run in to grab your curry.

Gulab Jamun

The butter chicken and rice were okay, not a lot of chicken, and the sauce was good and creamy. The garlic naan was very good. The gulab jamun (my favorite) was great, but the serving was only 2 pieces for $7. Probably won't order that again from there.

I really enjoyed the food at Mirch Masala. I stopped in for dinner and ordered the following: - Samosas - Butter chicken - Plain naan - Paneer naan * SERVICE * The guys that run the place are kind and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The food was also quick which made our visit that much better because we were HANGRY! * FOOD * You really can't go wrong with naan. Like many other Indian spots I've tried, the naan was delicious. The paneer naan was good, but not my favorite. The butter chicken was so tasty but I felt like it was missing something. A hint or punch or kick of something... it was buttery, for sure, but I feel like it needed something to balance out that buttery-ness. Maybe some citrus or spice to cut through it a bit. Nonetheless, it was good! The samosas were sooo buttery and I loved it. Even though the restaurant wasn't crowded when we walked in, they were swamped with a bunch of take out orders. If you do have the chance to dine in, know that there is a decent amount of indoor seating and you'll be well taken care of. Cheers!

Stopped here for the lunch buffet on a Sunday. The restaurant space is nice. It's inviting and clean. The food was okay. The butter chicken was the highlight, and it was excellent. The tandoori chicken was dry. The other dishes were good, if pedestrian, versions of classic dishes. Service was friendly and helpful. A nice place for a buffet if your are nearby, but far from the best of Indian food in the Seattle area.

Vegetable Rice and Butter Chicken from the buffet. Delicious!

Great Indian food! I recommend the curry, and the garlic naan. The mango lassi is good too, if that's your thing!

They have good customer service, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, delicious food, and generous portions. The only negative I could think of is the parking, but I've always been lucky finding street parking. A bonus is they typically give you a complimentary plate of Potato Samosas as a starter. I'm not sure what happened on my last visit as the curries were on the colder side. When you arrive parking can be a bit difficult, there is a small parking lot out front, if that's full you'll need to find street park. The restaurant itself feels warm, casual, and bustling. Queen you walk in you have the option to sit on the backyard patio or in the dining room. We opted to sit in the dining room as it just felt more intimate and the vibe we were wanting for dinner. For our appetizer, we started with the Samosas (Two crispy pastries filled with your choice of freshly mixed vegetables or delicately spiced lean ground beef) which were excellent. Next we ordered the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken. The naan and samosas showed up piping hot but the chicken tikka masala & butter chicken were cold. I probably should have said something as I was disappointed but was too hungry to care at that moment. If I'm in the Seattle area I may stop by Taste of India again.

We knew Seattle had a better Indian food scene, but, we were def taken by surprise. The unique thing of the menu was - they change it every 2 months, region dependent.. we were lucky to get the Maharashtrian menu - which consisted of various dishes from various locations and families. From a simple varan bhaat (yellow dal with no spices just tumeric and rich ghee, salt and lemon) and plain rice to the spicy Kolhapuri dishes (Both nonveg and veg) to the amazing starters.. and fantastic sweets (tried the puran poli) . The CHAI was just WOW! We met the headchef as well, everything was just fantastic.. the place the was well lit and big, very spacious.. the service was polite, prompt! The plate came with two sliders and waffle fries, but the sliders lacked sauces and chutneys, making them dry and somewhat flavorless. The chili momos were delicious and definitely something I would order again. The mango lassi was also great, although I'm not sure why they add ice--it dilutes it unnecessarily! The momos from this Indian-Nepali restaurant (kitchen?) had been something I've heard things about…read more So when I came up here, I was quite excited to give them a shot. Not exactly sure what to get, we ordered the momo combo, the malai momos, and the tandoori momos - all chicken. These did more than live up to the hype. They're simply the best momos I've ever had. The sample size on that isn't huge, as I've only had it from about three or four different places, but these blow those other places out of the water so much it's crazy. The quality here is simply spectacular - every kind of momo present is so delightful to consume. The level of marination on each of these is highly impressive. The momo combo comes with sandheko, steamed, chili, and fried types. Each of these are awesome. The fried momo has a great crunch without being overly bready. It reminds me a little of a turnover, but savory. The sandheko momo is dripping with a nutty, oily flavor. The chili momo isn't super spicy, but contains just enough for your tongue to feel that it's there - and it has a beautiful deep red color. The malai momos are also awesome. These are nutty and creamy to the max - drenched in sauce yet the dough still stays firm on the outside. The combination of flavors with the chicken feels like it shouldn't work, but it just does in a way that's purely addicting. Out of the three orders though, my favorite has to be the tandoori momos. These are plump, juicy, and the reddish brown exterior feels like they actually were cooked in a tandoor. They're the only ones crispy on the outside, yet the chicken on the inside stays the same level of soft and juicy as the other ones. I should mention how good the filling - despite being ground chicken - is. It tastes better than a lot of the pork filling I've had in other dumplings. We also had the garlic basil naan, with tomato achar. While the achar wasn't my favorite as it felt too liquidy, the naan was quite soft and enjoyable to even eat plain. Also the momo sauce wasn't my favorite either as it felt too tomato-forward. Each order was around $15-17, which for 10 pieces, I'd say is a decent enough price. Overall, I find it hard to believe that these momos will be topped anytime soon. 9.15/10

The food is really generous portions so you get a lot of value here! I didn't try anything I didn't like, but I also wouldn't say I was wowed by anything in particular. While there was a lot of seating they sat most people in this semi enclosed area and it made quite noisy. Additionally it took a while for the food to come out and there would be long gaps between dishes coming out. Overall this is somewhere I wouldn't necessarily drive out of my way for but if you are in the area I think it's a solid choice and could be a good takeout choice too.
