Phenomenal Indian food! We were blown away by this place. They were generous with protein portions and it was just so flavorful, will be back! Got chicken 65, samosa chaat and chicken tikka masala!

AMAZING. Better than Tikka Shack if you like REAL Indian food. The owner was there when we arrived, and we were immediately greeted. He offered us samples, told us about how the food is made FRESH DAILY, and told us that all meats are bought fresh/never frozen. The food was SO. GOOD. He also said that the menu changes every day except for the butter chicken which stays constant because of its popularity. I also loved the store inside! Please go here and give it a shot!

Ordered chicken tikka and baingan bharta to go--both very flavorful, not greasy, and great portion sizes. Will come back!

I've always driven passed this international market and told all my African friends about it, but the day after church that I decided to stop by to check things out was the day that I found my favourite little shop in Lubbock. Yes, I am telling you along for the journey was my Kenyan friend, she was so thrilled to find this store carries all her childhood snacks and tea that she used to enjoy back home. For myself, I found my absolute favourite snack that I've been searching for quite some time, deglet dates. Surprisingly enough they were distributed out of Southwest Houston. Also, I've found and bought a whole case of bad onions mixed with good onions for only $3. Originally, the owner wanted to trash them, but me being a gardener. I planted some, gave some to my friends, and cooked with the rest. They sell jackfruit whole, jackfruit in a can (green, bitter), and sweet jackfruit in a can (dessert). All kinds of spices, legumes, beans, and rice in bulk, and for the love of Indian snacks -- (great study snack) they have all kinds ranging from cookies to dried spicy chips. In the freezer section, you will find frozen chapati (which my friend was happy to find), naan, samosas, and vegetables, fish, and meats. In the refrigerated section, you will find dairy products, flavoured drinks, and etc. I'm a frequent shopper at this store. The owners (the lady) is the nicest, wow, incredibly welcoming every time I go, the consistency is amazing! I wish I could have gotten that from any Indian supermarket I've stepped into in Houston (nope, oddly enough was treated far worse). From the outside, it states that anyone can find, "East Asian, African, Persian, Mediterranean, Bangladesh, Middle East, and Pakistan" foods here, the selection is vast for a small store. Plantains, Jackfruit, Yucca, Onions, Okra, Eggplant, etc. They got it all and for a nice affordable price. Even open on Sundays. Check them out!

The food was fresh and tasty, except the portions were small for the amount money charged.

This store has a very friendly staff with a good variety of foods. They have a great deal of offering 6 pieces of large pita for $1.89.

I have been doing business at this Food King location for more than 20 years. I visit this store…read moretwice a week consistently. I purchased some plumbing parts that I didnt need and couldnt find the receipt for. I decided to try it and see if they would do store credit. A manager was called to the register named NATHAN. I was so impressed by this young mans character and skill in the handling of this issue that I had to write this. He stated in the exact words: "Let me show this to my manager but I can tell you that they think its important to keep good customers and Ive seen you here before." He went into the office and came back and we matched my bank transactions to the receipts he pulled from the days. He stated that the numbers had to match for bookkeeping reasons! NATHAN was a person that was TRULY working on behalf of his employer using skills and reasoning that matched exactly what was needed to follow policy and retain customers at the same time. This is a rare and exceptional combination of skill. I havent been more impressed in a very long time. Nathan is a jewel! I am an experienced patron and critic and will keep Nathan in mind when training my own future staff. Nathan/Food King Management reading this.. One more big favor.. Please reorder the Blue Bell FRENCH Vanilla Ice cream. I havent seen it on your shelves in a year but I look for it every trip. When I see it it makes me very happy and I have told some fellow ice cream professionals to check for it only at this location.

I'm a thoroughly satisfied customer who will be returning again and again. The quality, service,…read moreand overall experience have made me a loyal fan.

They do not carry a huge variety of fresh vegetables but it is sufficient for me. They have the usual fare of Gailan, Bok choy, long beans and others and because of the smaller volume they deal with, they always look fresh and clean. A good business strategy! They seem to rotate and keep their inventory well. The frozen bao and dim sum items do not show freezer burns. Most definitely a grocery stop that I have come to trust the quality of their items!

This is the best Asian market I've been to in 30 years of coming to Lubbock…read more Back in Dallas, I love my H Mart, SF Supermarket, 99 Ranch, Jusgo, and Mitsuwa markets. I don't expect the same level of selection and Pan-Asian offerings as I can find in DFW in Lubbock, but 98% of what I buy most frequently at home can be sourced in Lubbock now - and that blows my mind! This market is small, but very well organized. Aisles are wide enough to allow 2 shoppers and carts to pass each other. The market makes sense - with like items from all cultures together. We came looking for some favorite snacks and left with instant pho, several kinds of snacks, a cool new bento box, some replacement chopsticks and utensils, two kinds of sesame oil tuna we have not seen in DFW, awesome octopus and seaweed snacks, Japanese chocolate, and spiffy cookies. Nothing too weird to freak out the in-laws (although you can find that here). Checking out was quick and efficient, and there are lots of employees here to assist with finding things and restocking quickly as shoppers load up on their favorites. 5 Asian food lifeline in Lubbock stars!
