Beef is good way better than the chicken. Chicken is dry and had very little flavor. Rice is also not that flavorful but the seasonings at the table helped. The grilled jalapeño is possibly the spiciest jalapeño I've ever had. I liked the spice addition though. Good portions as well. Hummus was a let down even if the chips were good. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Northwest Lubbock! Beautifully kept, clean, and inviting space greets you as you come in the door. Very friendly staff, family owned, and they take obvious pride in their business. Even if you have little to no experience with Persian food, trust that they will answer any question you might have. There are many options, but we chose to try the steak and chicken kabobs. They come with rice and your choice of several grilled vegetables. Also comes with flatbread and an eggplant mixture before the food comes out. Very good, just by itself. Portions are generous, with plenty of food. A couple could easily split a regular order, and maybe order some extra vegetables. Food is cooked well and tastes very good. Keep in mind, this is not seasoned like fajitas! I didn't ask about the different spices they used, but they are very flavorful. The steak was my favorite, whereas my wife preferred the chicken. We brought home enough for a meal tomorrow from our leftovers. One thing I highly recommend is getting the hot tea. The way it is served with a stick of rock candy for sweetening, and a date in a small container on a golden dish is just a fun experience. We met the owners, and they were so kind and friendly. It's hit or miss. Ordered the orange chicken kebab and that was great. Went back and tried the lemon one and that was over salted.

Unfortunately, I couldn't even place an order. The choices were limited and the lady on the phone was not cooperative. Simple request like having two extra rice for the sides instead of one rice and something else was not possible. Very disappointed that we did not get to try this place. I am Persian and traveling thru Lubbock and was excited for some Persian food. Maybe the owners should consider who they put on the phone and maybe more cooperative. read more

I love this place. The chicken kabob with rice and veggies is so juicy and delicious, the rice is perfectly seasoned and grilled veggies just like you'd make on your grill at home. Was in Lubbock for work and looking for something that wasn't Mexican or a steakhouse. Decided to try this place on a whim. Small, very clean, family owned establishment that offered super fresh Persian food. I had their family platter mixed kabob grill with roasted veggies and saffron rice. Everything I had was fantastic and fresh. Waitress was super attentive, very nice and service was extremely quick. The owner came out to check on my meal, struck up conversation and was super accommodating asking if I need anything else, etc. I ordered everything non-spicy being unsure of the normal spice level here. Next time I will go fullbore because everything tasted wonderful. Super clean, perfectly cooked meats and roasted veggies. This is absolutely some of the best food in Lubbock. The eggplant dip as An appetizer was incredible. Perfectly sweet and fruity eggplant flavors. The beef Kabab is perfectly seasoned and the orange chicken kabob spicy was very surprisingly spicy but not so much that you couldn't eat it. The portions were enough that it would probably make 3 meals from it. The bread is some of the best I've ever had I could eat their bread every day. For never having Persian food this place was a unique but great experience. We got both the chicken and beef kabobs which were both very flavorful. The rice was amazing with plenty of it. The Kashk Bademjan was very interesting. A little garlicky but we were warned of that and overall still very good. Would recommend you get it. The Persian tea and Saffron ice cream were both good and had a very cool presentation to them. The family is very nice and gave us excellent service. They definitely went above our expectations and gave us plenty of bread and told us about their life. My only other comment is that I wish there was a bit more meat with the meals but it's still a lot of food for what you are getting. read more

We mostly demolished it in short order among the three of us, but it's a good amount of food--very flavorful, yet simple & accessible. As far as Persian food goes, this is the best I've had. This was our first trip to this new restaurant. We started with the falafel, which came with pickle and tomato slices. Our server Sayeh recommended ketchup with the falafel and it was delicious. We also had the Kashk Bademjan, which is eggplant, garlic, whey, mint sauce and Persian spices with bread. This was very flavorful as well. The tzatziki is great for dipping any and everything in. Very fresh and flavorful. For the entree we both had the Koobideh & Joojeh. This is a beef and chicken kabob with saffron rice and grilled tomato and sweet pepper. This also included crispy rice, which can be eaten several different ways and is a great addition to the meal. Sayeh provided excellent service and was very excited about sharing food from her family's culture and gave of some tips on different combinations and the unique spice that they served. Just discovered Cyrus Kabob and it was absolutely delicious! We started with the Kashk Bademjan (spiced roasted eggplant served with bread). Then we had the Mixed Family Platter which had both beef and chicken kabobs. The grilled tomato and sweet peppers are a perfect compliment! The chef even brought out some lamb kabob for us to try and it topped everything! The lamb was tender and juicy - as good as a steak! If it's on the menu, you should definitely try it! You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. We ordered a family platter of beef kabobs, and it was more than enough food to go around. I have never been a fan of kabobs, in general. Always thought they were pretty dry, dull and tasteless. But, over my misgivings, the wife convinced me to try Cyrus K, and now I've seen the light. These kababs, both chicken and beef, are juicy and packed with flavor. And if you order the spicy option, they also pack some pretty serious heat. Cyrus K also serves delicious homemade bread, and very tasty flame-grilled wings. All in all, the food is excellent, and you get plenty of it. But that's only part of the story. The family who own the restaurant are some of the most gregarious and generous people you'll ever meet. When dining at Cyrus K, it's more like dining in the family's home than in an impersonal place of business. These are wonderful people. My only quibble is that one of the waitresses has extensive facial piercings that are frankly horrendous to behold. They don't do anything for one's appetite but dampen it. I wish restauranteurs would put their foot down and forbid this aesthetic blight in their establishments. read more

This was our first visit to Cyrus Kebob, and it will not be our last! The food was simply outstanding - prepared fresh and with pride. We ordered the Kashk Bademjan, a tasty eggplant and mint appetizer that we enjoyed with their house baked flatbread with sesame seeds. I had the Koobideh and Joojeh entree, a spiced beef and a saffron chicken breast kabob with saffron rice, a grilled tomato, and a grilled pepper. The meat was succulent and flavorful, and the saffron flavor came through on the chicken. We also had ordered the falafel which was delicious with the traditional garlic sauce or with the ketchup spiced up with Tabasco sauce that our server recommended we try. Our service was excellent, even though the dining area was packed with a large reserved party and other walk-in customers - they took care to explain the food and suggest good combinations to try. The ambiance was pleasant: clean, efficient, and hospitable; you could just tell that the staff took great pride in what they were presenting to the public. The Iranian culture treats guests well and my wife and I felt that way throughout our visit tonight. A marvelous find here in Lubbock, happy to recommend it highly. read more
