    Roasted sesame miso

I really want to give this place a 5*, but there are a lot of things that they could do better. That said, their broths are really amazing. Shio (7/10): Broth was delicious. Maybe not for everyone, as the kelp flavor is very strong. The chicken was dry and overcooked, and felt like they just dropped some chicken in a boiling pot of water for too long. Yaki Shoyu (6.5/10): This is the only one where I thought the broth was only fine. I think their other options are better. Spicy Miso (7.5/10): Broth and pork were both delicious. Sesame Miso (8/10): Broth fantastic. Crushing your own sesame is a highlight. Awesome sesame flavors. Noodles were good across the board. Great amount of chew. I would avoid ordering the ramen egg. It was very poorly cooked and 3/4 of the way to hard-boiled (and cost $2!). Prices have gone up over the past year. $20/$21 for a bowl of ramen is still pretty steep. tl;dr: The broth and noodles are fantastic. There are a lot of small issues with their dishes that could be improved on, though.

Stopped by on a weeknight for a quick ramen fix and was not disappointed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's pretty small so I can imagine a wait on the weekends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love the small menu (helps with the decision making) and the flavor of the broth is pretty good - I wouldn't say it's the BEST ramen I've ever had but definitely still good. We also got the fried chicken appetizer and the flavor was good but it wasn't as crispy as I would've liked.

Miraku has become one of our go to ramen places in Boston and for good reason: after spending time in Japan sampling authentic ramen, Miraku, with their well deserved Michelin Bib Gourmand, is the only establishment that can compare. The noodles are wonderfully textured with the right amount of chew. The broth is wonderfully balanced. The other ingredients are also well balanced and in the right quantity. The zangi fried chicken is to die for! It's tender, juicy, flavorful, and has the right amount of crisp sitting above a flavorful complementary sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lastly the staff is very pleasant and interior is cozy and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A tasty bowl of ramen with rich broth and toothsome noodles. We had the sesame miso and spicy shoyu ramen - both had a nice depth of flavor. Their special ingredient is an aged konbu (kelp) found around Rishiri Island that we think really added some umami dimension to the broth. The bowl was light on the chashu with only a couple small slices. While I enjoyed the sesame miso, I had a hard time finishing it because the broth was heavy, and will opt for the shoyu or shio next time. We also tried the zangi don which had juicy karaage bites mixed with rice, a jammy ajitama, seasoned mayo, and some pickled veggies. It was tasty but filling on top of trying to finish our ramen. They also had some interesting Japanese beers - the yuzu lager was refreshing and the matcha ipa was grassy (very green). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is small, clean and feels cozy with a mix of bar seating and regular table tops.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was very friendly and prompt. Our food came out very quickly. It was definitely on the pricier side, but I'd return to try another bowl!

A really delicious hidden gem tucked away in a basement unit in Brookline! My sister and I admittedly were trying to go to Ganko Ittetsu before she had to go to the airport. Because the line was long at Ganko, we decided to try Miraku out! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is a bit small but it uses the space well. It's clean, sleek, and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was quick and attentive. I got the spicy miso and my sister got the regular miso. The ramen was delicious. The broth was so rich and flavorful. The noodles were curly (which you don't always get)! And were cooked to a perfect al dente--they still had a bit of a chew. The portion is a bit small for how much you pay per bowl, but the broth is really delicious down to the last drop. We also paid extra to add an egg, but you only got half an egg. Overall, I really liked this place and would come back! The only things I would point out are that it is more pricey and the menu is more limited compared to other ramen spots.

Miraku serves a killer broth that's good down to the last drop and the lunch combo is a perfect meal to reinvigorate your day. Food: The easiest way to explain my experience with this bowl is that the broth is the star then noodles, and then toppings. The broth was so rich and soothing it elevated everything with it. The noodles were a great chewy carrier for the soup and the simple toppings gave variety of each bite. Service: The restaurant owner was very friendly with the customers and looked so happy to be serving us. Atmosphere: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The garden level restaurant is the ideal spot for this gem of a restaurant. It makes it feel like an escape from the bustling city day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Incredible ramen with generous portions. Happened upon this place by chance after passing it on the street and feel very lucky to have stopped by! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a delicious meal in a cute and welcoming environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved seeing the red pikmin drawing on the menu board.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ramen is some of the best I've had in Boston yet and the broth is so filling and flavorful I ended up downing the whole bowl. Service is excellent and quick - I didn't get to try dessert this time around but looking forward to going back another day and giving it a go because it looked epic!

I really wanted to like this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant felt modern and clean, and the staff was very friendly and attentive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, the menu was misleading and the food was overpriced for what it was. I got the Roasted Sesame Miso Ramen ($19). I had expected the "roasted sesame" to be infused into the broth since most ramen restaurants already have sesame grinders on the tables. So I was surprised to find out that it was a side of sesame seeds in a mortar and pestle that you grind up yourself and toss inside the ramen. The sesame did not smell roasted and it did not add to the flavor of the broth. The miso broth was also salty and one dimensional in terms of flavor. The ramen came with 2 thinly sliced chashu and in the picture on their online menu, it had an egg, but mine did not come with an egg. Overall, the ramen was just okay and not worth $19. There are definitely cheaper ramen places that offers more for the value.

Oh man, this was one of the best bowls of ramen I've had in a while. I'm normally a spicy miso guy but we decided to try the pop up shoyu special and I may have been converted. The broth had a nice subtle mushroom flavor and the whole bowl was perfectly balanced. The nori was imported from Japan and had a nice funny story to go along with it. The service was top notch. We had a baby carriage with us they were so accommodating despite the tight space. They even offered to give us a bunch of napkins to put a tent over the babies head so we could eat, luckily the bowl was so good I devoured it in minutes so I could hold the baby while wifey ate. I will definitely come back and this might be my new go to ramen spot!

Rating: 4.0 came to try this newer Ramen spot in Coolidge corner. I used to live around the area and remember that it used to be a Japanese restaurant. Now it has been renovated into ramen shop. Location is a bit hidden as it's on a side street with small sign and a stair leading down to the shop. Even though the place just opened there were quite a bit of people already seated. We were still able to be sat down right away. Inside looks like a modified bar like there is bar counter and few seatings along the side. Small but clean and simply decorated with plants and signs. They primarily offer ramen, appetizers and some alcoholic drinks. They only have 3 ramen options and all of it has Rishiri kombu dashi mixed with either soy sauce or miso based broths. We ordered zangi fried chicken, spicy miso ramen, and roasted sesame miso ramen with added eggs. The zangi chicken was good, steaming hot lightly fried and juicy chicken thigh. Pretty much a typical karaage chicken. Spicy miso ramen was good. Kombucha based broth mixed with spicy miso gave some depth to the flavor. Noodle was nice and firm. Toppings were ok. Chashu was average and egg was just regular hard boiled. Portion was on the smaller size considering the price. Roasted sesame miso ramen came with a side of mortar and pestle where you grind the sesame seeds yourself to add to the ramen which gave that roasted sesame flavor. Aside from that was pretty similar to spicy miso aside from the fact that it was a but lighter. The service was good and relatively quick. Overall the place was ok. Comparing to the other competitors around Boston with Ramen I prefer few other places better. With cost, portion and quality in mind I think it needs some improvement or uniqueness to stand out from other ramen shops around the area. Ok spot for ramen.

Review is for their limited menu. Confusion with ordering process. Staff told us to scan the QR menu to order. When we selected the ramen from their regular menu, we were told only limited menu today. Initially sad but when I found out that a head chef from Ramen Museum was preparing the food, I was thrilled. Yes, he flew all the way from Japan! The wait time to be seated was about 25 mins. You add your info onto the waitlist and you have 5 mins to show up or your name will be removed from the list. $21 for the Paitan ramen was pretty steep. The broth in my opinion, lacked flavor. It was an average chicken broth based noodle soup. The soft boiled egg could use more soy. Ramen was clumpy. Iwanori (rock seaweed) is the star on the limited menu! The taste is more flavorful than regular nori and to my surprise, had a chewy texture. Most nori will turn to mush when you dip in soup but not iwanori. Service was quick and loved the minimalist decor. Most "ramen or Japanese restaurants" have tacky design (the fake cherry blossoms, sumo wrestlers poster etc). The restaurant is in the lower level with a few steps. Also next to paid parking lot.

Very fast service, courteous staff, great flavor and texture of the noodles. I've been here twice now. The first time I got the sesame ramen and the fried chicken. The second time I came during the week when they had the special menu with rishiri kombu chiken paitan and iwanori yaki shoyu ramen. I only wish I lived closer so I could come more frequently! Highly recommend.

There are very few ramen restaurants in Allston, so Yukiya is a welcomed addition. I wasn't expecting to be blown away but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the ramen was as well as the curry chicken Don. The takoyaki was delicious, on point. The chicken karaage was lightly battered. I wish it came with a little mayo dipping sauce. For entree, my son had the chicken curry don. The curry was delicious. My husband ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen and I order the chicken shio ramen. I usually go for the heavy tonkotsu ramens when I dine out at ramen places but was craving a light broth this time. The chicken shio was very tasty and I actually enjoyed it more than my husband's spicy tonkotsu. The noodles were cooked perfectly how I liked it. Overall, very small restaurant. Not recommended for large groups but perfect for small families or group of four or less. I highly recommend giving them a try. See my pictures!
