I was able to get an excellent print job on custom-sized booklets for same-day pickup. I emailed at night and got a call first thing in the morning to go over my order. I was able to pickup the order any time after noon that day. Payment was submitted via credit card over the phone. Parking was tricky with a sleeping child in the car. If you're lucky, a spot out front opens up for you! Very affordable! I order 22 booklets and paid roughly $10-$12/booklet (approximately 16 pages). 2 black pages are required, which I didn't mind. I had them added to the back to be used as optional Notes pages. read more

The first time I attempted to use this Minuteman, I was told I would get an email response following my phone call (I gave my address). Never did, so I didn't pursue that print job (this was at least a year ago). In the summer, needed a particular print job, so I decided to give them another shot. Owner assured me he could do it and gave me a 2 day turnaround. It took an additional 2 days and I was given attitude when I went to pick it up and saw no one in the office. The print job was good, so ultimately I let that slide. Now, I reached out last week for a print job and didn't hear back. The print jobs are good, the service is just not good. read more

WOW - this team is a lifesaver! I ordered informational flyers/rack cards online (different retailer) for an event that ended up missing their arrival window. The material was crucial, so I made a last minute call to Minuteman Press about an hour it before they closed. What is this dude's issue with giving a receipt?!?!?!? I submitted an order for obituaries on August 5, 2024. I paid for the order via credit card over the phone the next day. The order was picked up August 8, 2024. I was told that the invoice/receipt would be emailed to me the following day. I never received it. I sent an email on August 11th regarding the invoice/receipt. That email went unanswered. I spoke with Gary at least twice asking for an invoice and receipt. I was told that they are extremely busy and he would try to get a receipt for me but couldn't make any promises. The last time I spoke with him, he was extremely rude, telling me that he didn't know if or when he could get me a receipt and he didn't want to have to tell me that again. I felt as if I was a child being reprimanded by a parent. It has now been a month since I paid for this order and I am still awaiting a receipt for the payment received. That is ridiculous.  I used their services for obituaries about two years ago and it was an extremely pleasant experience. I wanted to be a repeat customer but I had no idea that I would have to do this much just to get a receipt. I will probably never use them again. ***PLEASE NOTE: The quality of the prints were amazing. I ordered some photo hand fans online for a Celebration of Life only to learn that the order had been canceled. All communication about the issue had to be done over email (with we will respond within 24 hrs) it was a holiday weekend and I was running out of time. I have worked in the event industry for 15+ years and with many different presses (alpha graphics, minuteman press, fed ex, etc, all across the country) Our experience with Gary (who I now see is the owner) was beyond awful. Trying to communicate with him was like talking to a toddler mixed with Donald Trump. First - we did not receive one of the large banners essential to our event, which we were charged for. We all handled this calmly - things happen! Though we to this date haven't even received as much as a simple apology. Second - I followed up on Monday (they're closed on weekends) to receive a refund. I was told by a friendly employee (not Gary) that I would need to write an email, so I did. After not receiving a response after a full business day, I followed up. Gary then called me, was pushy and interrupted me on the phone and after all the rigamarole I hung up and followed up again via email. After letting him know in the email that the customer service wasn't up to par he responded with "LOOK WHO'S TALKING" - you can't make this stuff up. Meanwhile he STILL hadn't sent the invoice at this point confirming whether or not I paid for one or two of the banners. I wrote him threatening legal action if he didn't send the invoice - to which he responded "SCARY." I then responded "Invoice, please" - all of my emails had been polite up to the point of his rude manner during our telephone conversation, mind you. He responded like this: "Nice - PLEASE works - I will have our lady review and send the paid invoices" minutes later I received my invoice with a cursory "check your spam next time message" confirming that I was charged for two banners while only receiving one. I asked for a refund, and as far as I know he's complying. I think this is the second time I've ever written a review on Yelp. I felt compelled to let nice event folks know (and anyone really) not to work with this total jerk. I've never had an experience like this in my career and hope to never again. It's Extremely hard to get a five star rating from me! I'm a stickler on CUSTOMER SERVICE! My mom hates going places with me because of it! You literally have ONE time to mishandle or mistreat me as a customer for me to never do business with you again! The first time I conducted business with minuteman press (MMP) on Clybourn was during the pandemic in 2020. The one I usually went to on Washington had closed during the pandemic. My experience with the team Jason, Bryan, Julio, Martha and manager/owner of location Gary has been nothing but GREAT! They've always been helpful from day one. I was still fairly new in my business and was ignorant to printing terminology, sizing, etc. Whatever I asked THEY were patient with me and helped! Gary, is strictly about business so when you step to him he can be straight forward and some people can misread that as being rude but he really is a great guy running a great business! Him and his team recently opened a MMP on the Southside of Chicago!! I am stoked! The manager Martha is amazing and all setup for taking in orders! It's unfortunate some people had poor experiences but Fortunately I have had great experiences. Everyone experiences will not be your story. This place is not good. I had a sign I needed for my grand opening. I paid for the sign and installation . He called the installation guy while I was in his office and he assured me that I will have my sign for the event or he would return my money. The day before my event I found it strange that no one had called to confirm so I started calling him . No one picked up the phone and they were still open . Then I emailed them on Saturday and finally they said they had no installer. But they knew that on Friday and did not notify me and then they said they were not returning the money. I purchased this sign under the belief that I was going to get a sign and have it installed on my Grand opening. Do not do business with this company. Do not ever use Minuteman Press! Terrible printing, horrible customer service, and rude staff who hang up on you. I needed a rush job so I used them even though the reviews were not ideal. The posters came out terrible. The color was wrong and even different on each of the posters. The logo was blurry. I asked if the files I sent were suitable for printing or I would send different higher resolution files. I was told the files were fine, but the printing came out horribly. I paid with my credit card over the phone without a detailed invoice, just the total amount for the whole print job. I asked for a receipt when I gave my card payment over the phone which I was never sent. I asked for a receipt at pick up and they said they would send it to me the next day. I have called 3 times and was told they would email me the invoice, and sent an email and still no receipt/invoice after waiting for 2 weeks. This was a business expense that I can't get reimbursed without a receipt, and it was way overpriced and expensive for poor work. Gary just hung up on me when I asked to get my receipt by end of day tomorrow (2 and a half weeks after my credit card was charged). He said he was really busy and would get to it when he can. You can't be too busy to send a receipt after 2 weeks. Don't make the same mistake I did. Do not use Minuteman! read more

Rude, unprofessional, unorganized, shall I say more? I needed some car window stickers for our team in a short amount of time. After sending a quote request online Gary sent me an email shortly giving me the price and that I needed to pay for these asap to have them done by today. I called in and explained to the person on the phone that I needed these to be waterproof and die cut. They told me price was going to go up since they have to be a different material. I agreed to the new price and paid the total they gave me over the phone and letting me know they will be ready by tomorrow. I asked them to please email me a receipt and they said "you will get it once you pick up". Following day I go to pick up my order. Guy in the front I'm assuming "Gary" was super rude and non chalant. When I got my order they were not die cut like I asked and Gary started to get rude saying, "that's not what the email stated" well of course not since I had talked to someone over the phone and they assured me that they got all the details needed. They he proceeded to tell me its going to be another upcharge for die cut! At this moment I was so frustrated I drove 40 mins to get this sub par service. I agreed to pay the extra cost and once again when I asked for a receipt he said one will be email to me by end of week. He did give me a paper copy of the second transaction but was missing a receipt with total sale. Next day I picked up my order. Here I am a week later and after emailing them twice about my receipt and still yet to hear from them. Honestly, if you want something done fast and don't care for customer service or things done correctly this is your place, quick turn around time. I called for a step and repeat for a conference and they had better pricing than online sites. Plus they are local so I knew I could trust them for quality work. Wrong. Each time I called, I couldn't get information unless the manager was standing nearby. If you can't provide a quote, delivery expectations or take payment then why are you answering the phone? Our step and repeat was cut crooked and we had to crawl around on the ballroom floor pulling and retaping the side. We also had incorrect printing on each side. So I email this company looking for a small order of business cards. Gary, the owner, quotes me a price and I agree to the cost. Then someone named Herb calls to ask if the "job is still on". I tell him, yes, Gary was already given the proof approval - bad sign #1. Gary calls back and says "these will be ready on Saturday. I have people here between 9 and 1, so come whenever you would like". So I drive down to this location Saturday morning which is quite a distance from my house. The guys that are there look all over but they cant find my order. Turns out it was never completed. I am a little peeved, but then this guy Joe offers to personally deliver them to me on Monday. Wow! OK, sure, thanks! He takes my number and says he will call me. On Monday he calls and wants to come while I am at work. I thought he was coming after hours to my house so I tell him not to come - I didn't bring any money with me to work. He says its OK and that he hadn't left to come by me anyway. We agree that he will come on Tuesday. Tuesday comes and goes but no delivery. On Wednesday I call to find out what happened. I get Gary who starts arguing with me about it, saying "This $20 job is giving me a headache - just come here and pick them up." I say "Um, excuse me but YOUR guy offered to deliver them to ME. I was ALREADY there Saturday and they weren't ready!" So he says "no, you can pick them up or you can have them mailed for an extra fee. I won't send him up again." WHAT! So I cancelled the order and hope Gary sticks those cards in his ass. What kind of horrible customer service is that. Only order through these people if you want to jump through all kinds of hoops just for the privilege of giving them money. No way am I going back! read more

Quality of final, final print work - good. Quality of service - very poor. Timely work - lots of delays, especially if your project is not a high paying project. The more lucrative projects are given priority. I was told several times (even after paying in full), that "...we're very busy. We won't be able to get to your project today." Yet, Minuteman Press Clybourn had no problem taking my money. I paid in full thinking it would encourage faster processing - I was wrong. It's customary to pay in full for work when completed, not before - unless you are making a deposit. I was also charged $60 for "Hard Copy Proofs." And told that my "files were bad." However, I had just had the exact same files perfectly printed by another printer 48 hrs before approaching Minuteman Press. So obviously there was nothing wrong with the files. The background of my 12 prints were supposed to be one color- Dark Blue (something a previous printer was able to achieve), yet Minuteman Press Clybourn presented me with prints that were blue, some were black and teal blue. I was told this was my fault, that "...your files are bad." Again, if there was something wrong with my files, why was a previous printer able to perfectly process the prints? I left the previous printer and approached Minuteman Press Clybourn because they are a smaller operation and I thought I would get better (meaning faster) service. I was completely 100% wrong. In the end, I actually paid $160.00 more than I would have with the previous printer. I still received my project late - with 8 sets missing (money lost). Was completely aggravated, stressed out and insulted by the manager Gary. Where I went wrong? I was aware that Minuteman Press Clybourn had a lot of bad reviews, especially in 2020, but I ignored them. Warning!! Do Not Ignore The Bad Reviews! My experience, although not as confrontational, was just as infuriating and disappointing. With small businesses hurting in 2020/2021, you would think Gary's and Minuteman's performance and customer service would be a heck of a lot better. Gary and Jason saved my life. Period. Office Depot fell through with my order. I needed 60 booklets (saddleback) printed, stapled, and ready for a presentation in the city. With only three days left, I was pissed trying to find an alternative printer. Minuteman Press to the rescue. Jason, the technical guy handling my job, knew exactly what and how I wanted the job done. He was very swish swish "I gotcha". Love it. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!! The people here are extremely unprofessional and rude. I called on Thursday to order a step and repeat. They assured me they could have it done by Monday morning and told me to email the image within 30 minutes and they would send back the proof. I called several times again Thursday and Friday because they hadn't sent it back yet. I finally got it and approved it and said again I'm the email that I needed it Monday morning. Monday morning at 8am I call again to see when I could pick it up. The man I talked to acted like this was my first time calling saying that I need to pay a rush fee and he will call me back when he knows when they can have it done. When I told him the service has been horrible he replied to me "love you, bye" and hung up! Had I known this company was this unreliable I could have used a different company. Re-requested quote and was told I'd have info that day. Following day I called again and was told "Sweetheart, we are very busy and in the amount of time you just spent explaining the situation, I could have used to get my work done." I'm sorry to report that this is no longer a reliable source for our lanyards. While I understand costs increasing year over year they are now quoting us $406 for 100 lanyards compared to 2018 when the cost was $292 and in 2016 was $176. We've now looked at other suppliers and all other comparables are $200-$250 for 100 lanyards. I can no longer recommend this business and suggest you comparison shop to ensure you are not being price gauged. read more

"Eek! methinks not," is just the beginning. Let's keep this short. *Update--I've just finished typing this and it's definitely not short. Oh well. Treat yourself. Read this.* The man I spoke with was terribly rude (name started with a "G"). He started off respectfully earlier in the inquiry, and then in latter communications he became aggravated because I requested a quote (severally, and eventually got one), because I asked questions about crop marks that were in the proof they sent, and then at the fact that I needed an *itemized* quote. I had to call multiple times to get service. He decided to end one call by hanging up on me. At one point he aggressively informed me that he didn't have time to 'chase me down' when I requested a simple itemized quote outlining the charges (e.g. printing=$X, delivery=$X, total =$X, needed for accounting). This entire interaction was grounds for a poor review--as I informed him. Customer service? Bygone era. Instead, he decided payment was more important (before sending a quote or receiving approval for the proof?), and insisted that we call the shop with credit card information to process payment. And get this--they printed the entire order (quantity--100) before the proof was ever approved by us. Hahaha! I can't. Really. #Can't #CANTina #CANTankerous #CANTu Once accounting (a separate department that had been uninvolved with any prior conversations) called with payment info ready, he refused to take payment and launched into a diatribe about his displeasure with being told by the person he hung up on (me) that he'd be getting a bad review (I know, why would we still do biz with such a place? Because deadlines. Never again, though). Still on with accounting and co., several minutes and placating words later the payment was taken, and--thankfully--the shipment of prints was received in the following days. Too much drama for a simple print order. Especially when you're not the only printer in downtown Chicago. Why should an organization's department have to plead with you to take payment for a print request? Wow. Haha! *siiigh...* Never. Again. Rude, insulting, disrespectful, unprofessional, unprofessional (not a typo, I mean it twice), lacking in customer service (which, as defined by him, simply refers to the number of calls and emails exchanged as opposed to, you know, actual service).
