The second star is for the first visit I had to this location. That first visit was great and the doctor on attendance was very helpful.
The first time I came here about 18 months ago, I came straight from work and arrived about twenty minutes before closing for a half hour earwax removal. The doctor let me know with no one else waiting and performed the procedure, then took even more time to provide some medical counsel, even though the time was at that point after closing.
This most recent time I came here, I arrived about a half hour before closing after the issue came up quickly at work, with one person attended to before me by appointment and the other person not showing up. I asked the doctor about twenty minutes before closing if they could assist with the earwax removal, and they turned me away even though the clinic wasn't closed yet and no one else was waiting, because technically the procedure is half an hour. I get it. The doctors work a lot and have lives, too. But it would have taken an extra ten minutes apparently to help, and I had rushed to get there before closing and arrived half an hour before closing and no one left with twenty minutes to spare.
Having your ears clogged with wax is a comparatively innocuous medical issue. But it's very agitating and increasingly more painful after 24+ hours with half your head feeling the pressure like a small tile being pressed against your face. It's more painful during the loud parts of train commutes to and from the clinic. So considering my initial visit to this clinic, the fact that this time the doctor under similar timing circumstances and the same procedure seemed little interested in helping and staying maybe a few extra minutes to aid in relieving this pain and now I have to rush from work on another day in hopes I can get to another clinic in time for an appointment before it also closes (given that Minuteclinic hours are not the most convenient if you work 8 hours plus commute) so hopefully this innocuous procedure can be done... yeah, I'm pretty disappointed that the doctor wouldn't help with me there and ready a full twenty minutes before closing, having rushed to get there in time.
Additionally, for Minuteclinic as a whole, there need to be more clinics open after 7:30pm, because it's hard to get there sometimes after work if something just comes up and you don't have an appointment on hand. Whats the point of Minuteclinic if getting seen requires preparing way ahead of time and extra loopholes after an issue pops up? read more
