At the end of my cleanings…read moreand before my fillings were started, this office handed me a printed financial estimate in December explicitly showing exactly what I would owe out-of-pocket. As the photo of that document shows, my deductible was fully applied to my cleanings, my remaining balance for the gum care was a flat $100.00, and my upcoming fillings were listed as a $0.00 patient responsibility. I paid my deductible upfront and paid the remaining $100.00 balance exactly as the document required. Months later, after my insurance had already processed the claims and paid them, they completely changed their story. They sent me a surprise bill demanding nearly $680.00, completely refusing to honor the pricing agreement their own staff printed and handed to me in December, claiming these prices were a courtesy estimate. They are trying to hold me responsible for this new, unexpected balance for both the cleanings and the fillings. Since I formally disputed these unfair charges in writing using their own December printout, the office locked me out of the billing portal so I couldn't access those records. Because they refuse to honor their written pricing, I have filed formal complaints with the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners, the NC Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, and my insurance company. Please protect your wallet and double-check your statements if you go here.

Dr. Lybrand kept us well informed from the consult appointment all the way through completion of the surgery and post-operative care. She is very bright, energetic and has an excellent chair side manner. I felt like we put our "little man "in the best of hands. The procedure went smoothly and quickly. Dr. Walk did a great job with the sedation for the procedure. Any and all questions we had about how the procedure went were answered afterwards. You can tell she loves what she does and she's very good at it! The offices here are modern, well-appointed and comfortable; they don't feel like a typical doctor's office at all! The staffs at both offices are not only informative and helpful, but also genuinely friendly. Dr. Lybrand is an impressive oral surgeon and I highly recommend her!!! When it came time for my appointment, his dental assistant (Ms Liz) asked me if I was sick. I told her in response that I was not sick, and if I were sick I would not have come for an appointment. She said she asked me that question because she heard me cough, and I was wearing a mask. I told her I was offended by her question. She said she ask all her patients that question, although she did not ask my wife if my wife was sick. So that was not an honest response from Ms Liz. After this exchange Ms Liz became rude and indignant, saying, "if you're not sick, fine, then sit in the chair so I can treat you if you want to be treated." When Dr. Park came in to treat me, he asked me the same question, if I was sick, saying they had the right to ask such a question. I told him that I was not sick, and was offended by Ms Liz's rudeness, and inconsistency. After explaining to him why I was offended he asked me to leave his office without treatment. I guess patients who visit Park Dental Mint Hill have no expectancy of right of dignity or honesty. Nonetheless, I must thank the Front Desk Clerk for how she addressed my concern in requesting and processing a refund for my office visit. My wife and I have since moved on to Mint Hill Dentistry, Mint Hill, NC.
