She said it was due to periodontal disease. I personally know people who get their teeth cleaned and they bleed but are not charged or diagnosed for it. I would also like to point out that I did not taste any blood nor saw any blood on the napkin. I was taken by surprise when they inform me of the additional charge at check out as I had already prepaid for what I wanted. Not only did they lie about me bleeding, they were not upfront about pricing. I feel scammed. This is unprofessional and conniving to target innocent patients who simply pay for a cleaning.

I first visited Dr. Paine was a broke college student with no dental insurance. At my intake appointment, Dr. Paine diagnosed me with 11 cavities and gave me a proposed treatment plan of over $3,900!!!! Because I did not have the means to afford the work at the time, I put it on pause. I had one of the more critical fillings completed at a free dental clinic at a church a year later (2024). Then, just this past month (Feb 2025), after graduating from college and finally being able to get my own dental policy through my job, I saw a new dentist and pretended as if I knew nothing. My new dentist only identified 6 cavities!! Keep in mind that this was two years later, so presumably the cavities would have worsened, right?? Unbelievable. This leech was fully prepared to perform fillings that I did not need and would have taken the check with a smile on his face. It's so sad that dentists can be so driven by money at times, and so willing to overdiagnose. It leads to situations where patients cannot trust and be honest with their dental team because we always feel as if we are being taken advantage of and not being told the truth. I am sure that there are honest, trustworthy dentists out there, Dr. Paine is not one of them. Avoid this dentist, go elsewhere.

I needed a same day appointment because of the pain associated with my issue. Dr Curtlin made my nerve wrecking experience easy and effortlessly created a great environment for me to relax and provided a clear understanding of what was happening, why it was happening, and what we need to do to stay safe during & after care. I mean she carried the tunes with me, checked in on me after every line of the song, and still carried out a full tooth extraction without missing a beat!
