I had a great visit to this dental practice. I usually hate dentists and have had issues of being upsold on additional services that aren't needed or covered by insurance. I have gone to this dentist for 4 years, initially they were great but then the main dentist "retired" and service went completely down hill. The main dentist then "returned" and is now back practicing. Yesterday I had a filing come loose and called to make an appointment to have it fixed. Tried to make the appointment well over 7 days out, because I have a schedule and a life too, but was informed the dentist is going on a 2 week vacation and so unless I come in the next day I won't be seen for 2-3 weeks. I tried to make this work but unfortunately had to call and reschedule. I was just informed they will charge me a fee for rescheduling, despite the fact that I tried to adjust to their schedule, and now I am responsible for paying a fee? Asked to speak to the person with "authority" and was told no. Needless to say they have lost my business. read more

My roommate used these folks one time and thought they were ok. The second time they were scheduled for an appointment the dentist cancelled and rescheduled the appointment. Being nice my roommate accepted as things happen. When the appointment was coming an unexpected emergency came up and a 22 hour notice was given that the appointment would not be made. Given they had cancelled the original we assumed they wouldn't have an issue but apparently 24 hours is their policy and decided to charge $50 for a missed appointment. It seems that if they were to cancel originally and it literally be well in advance for another cancellation they would be considerate and reschedule with no issues. Apparently these people only care about money and could care less about service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as they will do nothing but try and nickel and dime you to death. read more

The one star is based on their "NICKEL & DIME" mandatory 10$ fee for "PPE" Personal Protective Equipment. They charge ALL of their patients 10$ every single time they visit the office, because apparently prior to this pandemic I guess they didn't utilize PPE. Not only do they charge you 10$ for every visit for PPE they don't even give you a mask since they've stolen 10$ from you every visit! This shady tactic supersedes any positive experience I may have had, but because they're looking for ways to scam people I can't leave them a good review. I actually have grown to like the dentist. The staff is polite and personable. They make you laugh and feel very comfortable when you arrive. You get reminders about upcoming appointments. Both dentists make sure you are not in any pain. What I really like is how they set the expectations and plan for dental work. "This is what we are going to do, here's how it will go, and we even accept your insurance, here's a pretty smile and have a nice day" is the vibe. I love it here. I had two cleanings and 3 fillings done here and should've stopped coming after the first filing. I was under the impression that the I would only have one dentist working on my mouth but I saw four differnt dentist on four differnt visits. This should have been a red flag after I meet the second dentist. I was committed but my commitment lead to my first two fillings having so much discomfort that I had to come in for an adjustment which didn't really fix the issue but did take the discomfort from a 7/10 to a 3/10. Both of my cleanings went well but recently I had another filling done and the tech accidentally sucked up my uvula accidentally with one of the tools and it is currently swollen and I'm currently boxing with it all day with my tongue and gargling saltwater every hour to subdue the pain. The filling is fine so far but if it is not one thing it is another. S/N my appointment was at 7 and didn't start the filling until around 7:30.I arrived at 7:05. The assistant arrived around 7:10 and not sure when the doctor arrived but it wasn't before me or the tech. Another S/N: I was over billed for my first filling and they never contacted me to let me know. They issued a credit to my account with out asking if I would like the money back in check or returned in the form of payment I choosed to use. This was absolutely unprofessional and unethical in my book. read more

I have never felt so cared for at a dentist's office. They were friendly and went out of their way to ensure they provided the best service for my situation. The front desk staff were OUTSTANDING. Giving this five stars for the simple fact that the only man who works here is at the front desk. No shade at all but I felt like singing every Spice Girl/Destiny's Child song. I only waited for about five minutes and was then taken to the back where I met with the hygienist and then the doctor. I sadly, had a cavity but they worked with me to figure out economical steps for moving forward. I didn't feel like they were trying to trick me and I even got to watch Dr. Phil during my appt! I love going to Dr. Baldwin! I've been seeing him for about 3 years, and since I've been in Charlotte I've tended to switch dentists once or twice a year because I just haven't liked any of them. Dr. Baldwin puts you at ease, does a good job, and at a fair price. I agree with the other reviewer that he is not just out for the money. I had wisdom teeth removed, and he told me that while he could and would do it if I wanted him to, he would feel more comfortable with me going to a specialist since it was close to the nerve. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND QUEEN CITY DENTAL!!! Ive never liked going to the dentist because my family dentist is so rough. He hit a nerve once when he was giving me novacaine and Ive always been hesitant since. Thats NOT how I felt a all today! Everyone in the office was so nice, it was a little chilly but I didnt really care. So usually my dentist comes to see me aftee i get my teeth cleaned. She came before and looked at my teeth. She told me what was going on and addressed some problems that she saw and could take care of. She was very honest and straightforward with the information she gave me. After that I went to get my teeth cleaned. She was so nice and funny! Talked me through my cleaning and told me what she noticed about my teeth and what I need to do to keep my teeth clean and healthy. After my cleaning I went to see the billing manager and she was also very nice and informative. Very honest and helpful about some referrals for my Wisdom teeth extraction. Witb my insurance (Metlife) the prices are awesome for the procedures that I need to get done. If you need to finance they have the Care Credit card available for you to apply to. I already have it from when I got Lasik eye surgery so I will be using it if I need to. I think its safe to say that I dont mind going back and I look forward to going back in the future. read more

When booking an appointment, I spoke with Teresa. She took my information and helped me schedule an appointment based on my needs and concerns. She was friendly and helpful. When I arrived, I filled out paperwork and waited no longer than 5 minutes. Brittany did my X-rays and cleaning. She put me at ease and explained everything along the way. She was thorough but gentle. Dr. Powell examined my teeth and talked to me about my cavities. She took time with me and clearly explained my situation, the process, etc. She was also very kind. At the end, they gave me a goody bag with toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, and a new brush! The receptionist gave me a full printout of my plan-of-action with all costs lined up and how much my insurance would cover. I scheduled my next appointment. Had the tooth remains extracted and I didn't feel a thing, not even the numbing shot! Dr. Rogers is a saint! We initially came to see Dr. Rogers for a second opinion on my son's tooth (he's six years old). Our previous dentist attempted to fix my son's tooth, but did not properly numb him prior to the procedure by mistake so, when the drilling started, he was in terrible pain. The previous dentist just assumed he was being difficult (as six year olds can sometimes be) and kept trying to continue the drilling until my son was crying and I was crying and everyone was stressed. They eventually stopped and said we would have to try again another time. Only the next time, my son would be given Valium in the morning to call him down and would be placed in some sort of dental straight jacket to restrain him and keep him under control. My son was completely traumatized (as was I) and he was later able to explain how much it hurt, which is when I realized the numbing medicine was not adequately administered. We came to see Dr. Rogers for a second opinion two days later. She confirmed that his tooth needed to be fixed. We came in the day after that and, as you can imagine, my son was more than a little terrified after his previous experience. She sat with him for 2.5 hours (not exaggerating!) and was so incredibly patient with him. She talked him through each step of the process, showed him the instruments, let him ask questions, and (most importantly) actually LISTENED to how he was feeling and let him advocate for himself if needed. My little bugger was not an easy patient, but she took the time to walk him through the procedure and help put his mind at ease. When we walked out he said, "Mommy, that was scary, but it wasn't like last time. This time it didn't hurt at all." I was worried my poor guy was going to have lasting scars from his first experience (and turn into a dentist-phobe like his mother) but, with Dr. Rogers' patience and expertise, I'm confident that won't be a problem in the future... as long as she keeps letting him get TWO treasures from the treasure box at the end of each appointment :) She definitely put this mom's heart at ease and I could not be more grateful. read more

I am wary of dentists/hygenists to say the very least but my experience here was AMAZING. Dr. Natalie was thorough, attentive, and fast. Be VERY careful here. I brought a UNCC student to this dental practice (she did not have dental insurance) and I told them that she would be paying cash for a exam and one x-ray. I made the mistake of dropping her off. This student was a foreign student with (they thought) limited English skills because she speaks with a heavy accent. Little did they know that she is a Ph.D. Student. They tried to hard sell her on their in-house dental insurance plan after I told them (when I dropped her off) that she would be purchasing a dental plan through UNCC. The person responsible for selling the dental plans actually told her to "sign right here indicating that you understand what we are offering" when the form actually said "you agree to the terms specified in this contract". This is the most disgusting behavior imaginable. Trying to take advantage of a student by lying to them, and trying to hard sell a product that she did not need or want. Additionally, they indicated that she needed a "deep cleaning" at a cost of almost $1,000 when in fact, she had a regular cleaning two years ago at a cost of $120. Stay away from this place. Stay far away. If you do decide to go here, be aware of the hard sell you will receive if you do not already have dental insurance. One final comment; their in-house insurance was 9 times the cost of Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental insurance (not group insurance, but individual insurance). Had this student purchased everything they tried to sell her, she would have been on the hook for almost $2,000 worth of costs. Slimy... slimy behavior. Run far far away from this place. read more

I'm a dentist myself and so I'm extremely picky about who I go to for dental care. Dr. Rogers is amazing. She is patient (always willing to explain everything and go through all the possible treatment options), truly personable, ethical and honest. In addition, her clinical skills are impeccable. She takes the time to do things right (and believe me, as a dentist myself, I know when things are done the right way). She is honest with her treatment planning and extremely meticulous. I would recommend her to anybody. She does dentistry the way it is supposed to be done. My only wish is that she would move back up to Boston so I could still have her as my dentist. read more
