Plain Bollywood music soundtracks for atmosphere. Noisy kitchen. It's Bay Ridge so parking is challenging, but if you typically go to Bay Ridge you won't be bothered by that. We had made reservations for Valentine's Day at 5pm for an early dinner. We walked in, and the vibe was off, but we walked in and were told to sit at the table right by the door. I asked to be moved more inside and we sat down. The girl from the wait staff sighed loudly when pouring our water glasses. Very rude. Then, we noticed three other tables with couples didn't have food. They took looked miserable. My husband said to me this place was a far cry from what we expired months ago. I opened my menu and it was badly stained and grabbed another. This was worse than the other as the page was ripped in half that I couldn't read the appetizers. How can you present this so poorly to people? We overheard more than one wait staff complaining loudly that someone was late in arriving. We assumed the kitchen was backed up, hence their unprofessional complaining and ill planning for the holiday. We opted to walk out and leave. They were visibly happy to see us leave. Awful! What's great is their Prix Fixe menu for $22. This includes a choice of appetizer, entree and Naan. There are limited but plenty of options to choose from in the entree selection. Here's what I ordered: -Appetizer: Onion pakora, sliced onions dipped in chickpea batter -Entrees: Chicken Korma is diced chicken in an almond cream sauce Chicken Biryani: chicken with rice and vegetables Bread: Naan All were delicious and for myself, the true test of a really good restaurant is if delivery is just as delicious as dining in. Great service and dining experience. To share amongst two we ordered: Garlic naan Chicken korma Chana saag The dishes came with rice to share. Both the curries were enjoyable. My one comment is that the chicken in the korma was not appetizing, it was too hard and difficult to eat. A shame because the korma curry otherwise was delicious. Not sure what went wrong there. Grubhub offered a 10 dollar coupon for delivery / takeout - excellent offer. I tried 1) Saag Paneer with rice. I think this is one of the most delicious Saag Paneer dishes I've had in a long time. Not too hot. Nicely seasoned. Tasty and fresh paneer. 2) Prix Fixe dinner : Chicken tikka appetizer, Chicken tikka masala, Garlic Naan, Rice and side sauces (including Mint, Tamarind, Mango chutney and Raita). Generous amount of food. The Garlic nan was one of my favorites, fresh & large with fantastic flavor. Also, food was not overly salty or oily; you could really taste the spices. 5 stars!! I am very happy to welcome Mint Bay to Bay Ridge as Indian food has been virtually non existent in this part of Brooklyn for many years. I think they have been open for about 3 months at this point, have a great rating overall and appear to be a hit based on the reviews. This is a family owned business, first and foremost should be know for their outgoing personalities, and welcoming demeanor. Most people will enjoy that. Great prices, no extra charge to use your credit card, great food, nice size portions, decor and they are clean. Note, it is a BYOB restaurant so that is a huge advantage if you would like to have a drink. Just remember to bring your bottle. We started with the vegetable samosa, had the shrimp curry the chicken tikka masala and both dishes come with rice. We also had the naan bread. All the dishes were flavorful, not over spiced and they offered us extra rice on the house if we needed it. I actually took half my chicken dish home as I was full, so the rice came in handy. I ordered the crab curry lunch special and the mango lassi for delivery. The lunch portion seems to be about half the portion of a regular entree but they do give you yellow lentils. I read some reviews saying they also give naan with the lunch special but I didn't get the naan so I was quite disappointed. It doesn't say anywhere that the lunch special does come with the naan so I'm not sure if it's included or not. Overall, the crab curry was quite delicious! We've been here twice, and both times have been amazing. I've mentioned our food allergies in previous reviews, and I have to say that the staff is super accommodating when it comes to that. They are well-versed in the menu offerings, and they make a point to let the kitchen know repeatedly. As for the food itself, flavorful, hearty, and plentiful. Standouts are our go-to of chana masala, and their tandoori chicken is incredibly juicy and tender. The ceiling and walls are adorned with time of roses, and it's an inviting and cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, there was an awkward and honestly off putting moment when the lady handing out the food set one plate down, sniffled and wiped her nose with her hand, and then proceeded to put down the other plate from her tray like nothing happened. That moment APPALLED our table. The food itself was delicious bold, spicy, deeply tasty, and well-seasoned. Everything we tried had nice heat and layers of spice. The lollipop chicken didn't really look "lollipoped" as advertised, but flavor wise it was still yummy Another downside was the portion size. Fawn so beautifully summarized our wonderful dining experience here yesterday. Everything from food to service to atmosphere were flawless and thoroughly enjoyable. The samosas we started off had quite a bit of heat, but were really tasty! Our mango lassis paired well with the samosas offsetting the heat and were deliciously refreshing. Newest spot to hit Bay Ridge and it seems to be a hit! The food is great and the service was friendly. The restaurant is clean and modern with colorful accents. We tried the crispy okra, naan, a seafood curry, and a lamb korma. The okra, I think, is a must get. They were basically like okra chips without any sliminess and plenty of flavor. New Indian restaurant opened up in Bay ridge. This location is where Birria Mania used to be. Ordered lunch takeout from here. They have lunch specials that are a great price. I ordered a lamb vindaloo lunch box and chicken biryani. Lunch special came with naan and salad. Very good portions and price can't be beat. Both meals cost me less than $23 total. Flavor of the lamb vindaloo is good. I've had better biryani before but it was still good and very filling. I was confused why they wrapped salad in foil. They have a big naan though. read more

We came here for Mother's Day dinner. We had pretty high expectations for this place based on the reviews. However, the food did not live up to our expectations. We ordered the fried okra, the mixed grill and shrimp tikka masala. The fried okra was burnt and very bitter. The mixed grill was ok but was not hot. The rice that came with it was cold. We were the most disappointed with the shrimp tikka masala. It came in a tiny bowl w 6 shrimp swimming in a very heavy tomato sauce. There were no veggies, just 6 shrimps. This was not worth $18. The chicken was ok; a bit dry, but the curry sauce was good. Rice was plenty and also good. It came with a surprise side of lentils (also good). A huge piece of naan was one of the best I ever had. Minus points for a weird 3 tablespoons max of salad squished into a foil wrap. Wifey got the vegetable biryani which looked great but was fire hot. First thing off, I come in, super organized and fancy, the waiter greets us and tells me and my friends how our days are. The customer service is a 9/10 and the place is very clean. I also used the bathroom, place was spotless and extremely clean. The artifacts here are really nice here, really brings a culture here. Also, the food here is absolutely stunningly, when we ordered, the waiter came with an appetizer that was on the house, which was really nice of them. We ordered a dish of the chicken lollipop, and the chicken was really delicious and it wasn't dry at all with really good spices. We also ordered 3 orders of naan, and the naan was super soft and the taste was amazing with the garlic taste. We also ordered tikka masala and the spices and the creaminess of the dish was blowing my mind. This was all my first time trying all this food also. We also ordered tomato rice and because we ordered tikka masala, it came with white rice. Both of the rice were really tasty, I recommend the tomato flavored rice. The last order we got, was the mango lassi, it was a mango flavored with yogurt drink and it was really good, there's a really authentic strong mango taste with a really sweet flavor, the texture is also really soothing. Came back a couple of more times to the restaurant for pickup, and requested for the food to be made mild. Some dishes, still were a little spicy but overall much better. Chicken tikka masala meat seems to be on a dry side. Maybe the meat needs to be made from dark meat or possibly needs more marination. Staff is very friendly. read more

We were really excited to see another Indian restaurant in Bay Ridge. When we got the chance to try it we were even more excited because it is excellent! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was very attentive and friendly, and the prices were totally reasonable, especially with what eating out has become over the last couple of years. We ordered several dishes and the portions were generous enough that we had lunch the next day. The only note I would add for the owners was that the place was a little chilly the night we were there, like the front door wasn't closing or insulated sufficiently, but that was really the only distraction from the great food and service. We saw a new restaurant open in our neighborhood and decided to give them a try the next time we were ordering dinner takeout. First off, the service was so nice and friendly! We started with the Mint Paratha which was great! My parents kept reaching for the Crispy Okra which provided a perfect chips-like crunch. My brother was very satisfied with his dish of the Chicken Korma, whose sweet and creamy curry complemented the garlic naan so well. The Lamb Nihari was the favorite dish of the night though - the meat was soft and the curry provided a mild kick that builds as you continue to eat it. Overall, would recommend! read more

We all agreed that it didn't have any of the deep spices and flavors we were used to with indian food. But we felt it was about 3/5 stars. My boyfriend and I tried it again a month later getting the chicken tikka masala and saag paneer. The saag was absolutely flavorless. Barely any salt or spice. The chicken tikka masala chicken was dry and the curry was so sweet. It tasted like they used ketchup and added spoonfuls of sugar. Went in & were very pleasantly surprised by a warm welcome & some delicious food. We shared everything, starting with 4 crispy fried chicken lollipops with a great spicy sauce. We followed with lamb in a yogurt sauce with salad- so yummy. We then had shrimp tandoori that came with 6 jumbo shrimp, a bowl of basmati rice & onion salad - all of it sooo good! The garlic naan was outstanding. A lemonade & iced tea were our drinks & the whole tab was $66 including tax & tip. They did not charge a fee for using a CC. Quite reasonable. read more
