I took my car to Min's Auto Service for some routine maintenance. The staff was polite and tried to help, but the overall experience was disappointing. The work took longer than expected, and the final cost was higher than the initial estimate! While the repairs seem okay for now, the communication and timing left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't say it's terrible, but I expected better for the price! read more

Mr Min runs a tight ship. He is very professional and every time I've had my vehicles taken care of, they were ready on time. He gives options for new and rebuilt parts as applicable, and definitely provides competitively priced service. I have never been overcharged or pushed into unnecessary repairs. read more

Mr. Min's customer service, professionalism and technical expertise are second to none! My Honda Accord had warning lights which could have been indicative of many part and system failures. Immediately upon arrival, he greets his customers and connects his diagnostic tool. He shows you the codes returned. Unfortunately it was a worst case scenario for me, but Mr. Min quickly got back to me with options for new and used parts and installation to fit my budget. I went with a new part which Mr. Min guarantees with a 12-month warranty. Mr. Min will definitely save you money compared to the high-volume repair shops and dealerships in the Fairfax area. He keeps you updated on the repair status, and the car was completed on time and ready to go. I will definitely recommend Min's Auto Service to friends and family! read more

My husband was quoted $1450, $1250 from two other auto service, and Min quoted $800, explaining that this one particularly service is not necessary. This place is totally honest about what needs to be fixed, without overcharging customers. read more

Best experience at an auto repair shop! Had a defective tire late evening that kept on leaking but Mr Min took the time to find each one of them (4) and fix them, all under the rain. He is incredibly nice and considerate. Also, his price was very very good. Highly recommend. read more

I have been going to Mr. Min for probably 10 years now and have used Mr. Min for brake repairs, oil/filter changes, tire repairs, and replacement of antifreeze. Mr. Min repaired what needed to be repaired at a resonable cost, and didn't try to recommend repairs that were not needed. I initially met Mr. Min when he moved into a facility on Main Street, prior to his current location at the BP station (11119 Fairfax Blvd). When I initially met him at his Main Street location, I sat in the waiting room for about an hour and as customers came in, I asked them about Mr. Min. Most had been going to him for over 15 years, and all attested to his honesty and great work ethic. Even though the walk to his current location is a little further, I will continue to us him. read more

We have been going to Mr. Min's shop since early 2016. Very honest guy and never over-charge you, or try to sell you any unnecessary services. He moved form his old location in old-town Fairfax to his current location about two and half years ago, and we could not find him until yesterday. Still the same good guy with good price, when I visited him yesterday with my old car, even thought his shop is twice bigger than before. His shop and the way to manage this business should be the standard and guidance to all other shops in the nation :) read more

My wife's Volvo had an intermittent check engine light. While out of town we had it checked out and were quoted $2,400 for a complete repair to the fuel system. The diagnosis alone cost $90! Since the light was intermittent we came back to town and the car promptly died, so took it to Min's. He diagnosed a bad alternator and a cost of $845. That repair worked perfectly. No more error codes, no check engine light, and great function. Min's also managed to turn off the "maintenance required" indicator that 3 other shops could not do (this resets the oil change monitor). We received the most professional and courteous service one could ever want. read more

My Mercedes C300 had a broken sway bar link. I bought the part from the Mercedes dealer. Min's Auto service was happy to fix my car with the supplies and parts I provided. They did the work for a fair price, and the quality of the work done was 100%. I highly recommend Min's Auto Service if you are a person who likes to bring your own parts. read more

My front window was not rolling up and I took it to Mins Auto Service. I spoke with Min and explained what I was experiencing. He stated that my car needs motor and ordered the part. After installing the part, the window was not working properly. He could not fix it and stated the new part was bad and if I want he would refund my money back. I went back and removed the part and returned my money. Before I left I asked him a question and he did not let me finish my concern. I only said two words"DO YOU KNOW" only. He said "I DO NOT KNOW" I wasted my weekend going there. The customer service was horrible and he was very rude. HORRIBLE. Will not go back again. read more

I first took my pre-owned Honda Fit 2007 when it required a brake flush, transmission fluid flush, and a few other things. It was pretty stressful since it was all happening within 2 months of buying this car. Min is great because he takes time to sit and chat with you to explain the status of your car. Perfectly willing to show you the parts of the car that need fixing so you can make your own decision. He does not pressure you at all into purchasing services. In fact, I came in requesting a serpentine belt change because of what I was told at Jiffy Lube during an oil change. Upon hearing that, he said - well let's make sure that is actually what you need. No hidden fees or deceptions here! You really feel that you can trust him. I've since come back four more times, and now my family comes to him for their car needs too. There are beverages and free WiFi too. read more

Highly recommend! A good and honest auto mechanic is hard to come by, but a great one? That is too rare, but fear not Mr.Min is that rare mechanic! His professionalism and how he treats his customers keeps me coming back. read more

Did my front brakes but now I've learned they didn't do them correctly. In addition to using cheap parts, pins were not wiped and lubed, parts were over-tightened, and they even broke off the top of a Phillips head and left it lodged in! Thankfully these errors were fixed by someone who knows brakes. read more

Someone tried to steal my car, and instead just destroyed it. Cutting all the steering wheel wires in an attempt to "hot wire" it, and pushing a screwdriver into the keyhole to turn it. Destroyed. I TOWED it to a mechanic, who then said they took 3 hours to diagnose it at $180 an hour. Had it towed to Min's shop, and he figured out everything needed, and repaired it for WAY less than I expected. New key thing, not programmed at a dealership (somehow, this guy is a genius), repaired all the cuts wires, and all for under $400. Saved me at LEAST $1,000 over anyone else, and what the first place wanted to charge WITHOUT even finding the key in the center console. My mechanic FOR LIFE. read more

What a gem hidden in Fairfax City! I was super impressed with Joseph Min of this auto service shop. My opportunity to visit Min's Auto Service arrived because my 10 year-old Mazda is starting to show signs of age. The oil pressure light lit up while I was driving and from what I looked up online, it could be a serious problem. I drove right in to the shop and asked for help. He spent the time explaining possible issues and gave me an estimate right away. There were other issues with my car including AC issues and break pads. He took care of everything, topped off all of my fluids and now my car is good as new. Prices were reasonable too! Mr. Min is very knowledgeable and I was super impressed with his professionalism. He is my personal mechanic now. read more
