This place is a hit or miss. Review is in comparison to other locations* It's clean for the most part and organized and selection is pretty good with everything from blind boxes to Sanrio, minions, Disney, & anything between. Sometimes the staff is so nice and friendly & other times they got a stick up their ass and you just gotta walk out. I definitely wouldn't even bother walking in if you see boxes. I noticed anytime areas are being restocked or closed to replace inventory, they hate their lives. Other times, usually newer staff, are super friendly and outgoing and want to show you promos that you won't normally notice if you aren't looking. There are sales at Miniso, just not a "sale" area. This feeling was amplified the minute I walked into this Miniso store. Miniso and Sanrio formed an alliance, so a good portion of the front of the store had Sanrio stuff. This store is awesome! I'm definitely coming back here for birthdays and gifts for my nieces, friend's daughters, and young girls in my life. Many girls I know love Hello Kitty and even I, myself, am amazed walking around and seeing the items they carry and the reasonable pricing of some of them. Writing this review the employee that rang up my item at the front cashier. I did not get a name but his customer service is HORRIBLE. I waited to pay for a keychain for about 4 minutes because nobody was there nor acknowledging me. There was a chubby looking causasian female that was restocking items on the shelves and doesn't say a word even though she looked at me and clearly knew I needed assistance. Ever since this Miniso location got new workers, its been downhill since. They have terrible customer service, I dont know why a store like Miniso doesn't prioritize how employees need to act or be. Hire professional managers with empathy for your teenage customers. My young teen wanted to return one item, costing less than $15. The female store manager came out with excuse after excuse as to why we couldn't return the item.. I come to Miniso for my travel needs and have bought travel sized bottles and other items for my house. I'm obsessed with Sanrio so I wanted to come and get some cute Sanrio cute themed items. They usually are sold out by the time I come and I believe they don't answer their phones for any questions here. Also, a majority of the time it's hard to flag down someone to scan your items. This is the very first Japanese store to open inside of a shopping mall! It's basically super random Japanese goodies, ranging from $1-$20? They carry things such as make up, house goods, accessories, stuffed animals, and tons of random stuff. Most definitely for the impulsive buyer or buyer of cute things. I like looking at random stuff, but the only thing i bought was a pair of fluffy eyelashes, but tried them on and didn't like them because they're too natural looking for me. So if you're an impulsive person, JUST. DON'T. DO. IT. I went in with the intention of browsing and walked out spending $52. The stuff is pretty hit or miss here. Half of the stuff I bought was pure crap. Pens didn't work. Gimmicky eyeshadow marker sucked. $20 face scrubber didn't work. It was an epic fail shop. Fast forward 3 days. I went in to return my face scrubber because $20 for something that doesn't work didn't sit well with me. Of course I didn't have my receipt because I don't buy things with the intention of returning it. Well, long story short, I was told that a return would not be accepted due to the fact that I didn't have a receipt. I get it. But there should be some bend when you're selling a product THAT DOESN'T WORK! Of course I wasn't going to walk away. I had to stand my ground. I offered a bank statement and asked how would they feel if they bought something that didn't work? Would they keep it? I also said, I would GLADLY keep the item I bought if they can magically make it work. The clerk eventually went to the manager and came back with an ok. Because his statement to me was, "we'll give you an exchange today but you can't return it anymore," I WILL NOT return to this store. The response should've just been, "we are sorry we sold you a faulty product." END OF STORY. Moral of the story, if you want crappy stuff, make your way to this store. Came in to return things but first walked around since they had a bunch of new items. I ended up having a basket full of items, amounting to a little over $100. I get to the register to do the return first, the associate looks at the receipt for the date of purchase. Then looks at their 7 day return policy. She tells me she'll have to ask if it's still returnable since their policy is 7 days. I tell her that it is within 7 days and she says "no, that was on the 27th so you're past, but let me ask" she comes back bc apparently no one is in the back office to ask. The other associate says something to her in another language, takes the receipt from her and then asks me "so what's the problem here?" I told him that she's just trying to figure out the 7 days and he looks at it and I tell him I purchased last Sat, so today would be the 7th day and he straight up says no it isn't. But then says but either way we can't return it bc there's no supervisor here. I asked when there will be one and he just says that's the thing I don't know, she was supposed to be here but she might not come in. Then I tell him well, it's not like I can come in tomorrow if y'all have a supervisor then cuz it'll be past 7 days. And then you're saying I can't even return it in the last day bc there's no supervisor...? He just says yeah. Doesn't do anything else to help. I left my basket full of items with them, customer service is a no go here. Other locations are way better than this. Horrible that you need a supervisor for returns when a supervisor isn't even anywhere to be found. And they don't even have working phone numbers! Wow, time passes by fast, and Miniso has opened up in Bonita. I came back from my trip to Hong Kong and also encountered Miniso. This location includes more beauty products and adorable stuffies than the one I been to in Hong Kong. It's nice to have a gift shop nearby. JAPANESE DISCOUNT STORE! I just love this place. It is absolutely adorable and they have a lot of cute stuff. Anything from home goods to beauty products to school supplies to kids toys! So much to choose from in a small store. I always go there with my son and we love getting the 3D puzzle toys. I love looking at the stuff they have because they are so unique. The prices are not too expensive either. The only change I would recommend is that the store be a little bigger due to the fact that the store is always packed and it is hard to walk around when it is full of people. This place is cute and nice! Cheap stuff but overall total price can be expensive x.x but overall the products that I bought were a Korean face cleanser , eye cream, and a clay mask tool set. The face cleanser works very well and I like the scent it works well on my skin but don't go off on my review for the cleanser because everyone's skin is different xD , the eye cream is very light and moisturizing and it cools down your tired eyes , the clay mask tool set well I haven't used it just yet but it'll come in handy for sure! The nail polish is like normal nail polish they have cute colors.Overall recommend this place but just heads up the overall total price can be high lol. This store is super adorbs! If you been to a Daiso (Japanese dollar store) then just imagine this but an upgrade! They do cost a little more than Daiso, but the concept is very similar. They have super cute items in here & you can find anything from phone accessories to kitchenware for super cheap! I just wish they were a little bit bigger location wise. Miniso Japan has just opened at Plaza Bonita in National City. This is a great store to get Japanese designed and inspired goods, including household items, pens, and snacks. It's a cool store to look through and you'll pick up some great inexpensive things to take home. The prices are super affordable and there's a lot of fun items to look at and purchase. The staff was super busy but they were so helpful and friendly. Despite the long lines, the staff was wonderful and the wait was not that long at all. The store is very bright and clean, love all of the different products you can buy. A great new store for Plaza Bonita Mall. They have a lot of cute stuff but their return policy SUCK. The policy stated "We will happily exchange the item or refund your full purchase price within 7 days of original sale receipt and a valid form of identification. I bought an item last Sunday @3pm and came the next Sunday before 3pm to return it. Manager said my receipt expired and I can only do an exchange. Fine, I got something else to exchange it and in the end I cant even exchange it. This will be the last time I shop from them. They might as well have a no return policy because everytime I try to return or exchange for something they always have a reason not to do it. Also, the manager there is unreasonable and super insensitive. She's not there to help at all. Maybe that's why they hired her as a manager so that she can pretty much rushing off people so the store could make money that way.
