Didn't purchase anything but it made my heart smile to see this here in the states and made me wonder where I've been all these years! Definitely gave an authentic Japanese vibe. Now I'm on the hunt to find more.

This little Asian inspired store has the cutest nic-nacs! Came here for planner accessories: colored pens, post its, washi tape, Asian snacks!

If you haven't been to Daiso before, it's basically a Japanese version of Dollar Tree or 99 cents Store. But, they have a lot of different specialty items such as international foods(Ramen, seaweed snacks, candies, etc.), drinks, tableware(chopsticks, sake cups), and Sanrio products. Me and the kids come here for the Pocky snacks, school supplies, and the unique seasonal decorations and accessories; and, today they had Liquid Death - buy 6 and you get a free koozie. Mom likes the extra long shoe horns so she doesn't have to bend down to put her shoes on. I would be amazed if you walked out of here empty-handed. Oh, and all sales are final, so make sure you really want to be stuck with what you bought.

Awesome Japanese quality items for a great price! Located In National City directly right next door to Seafood City lays the fabulous Japanese dollar store where I guarantee you just can't buy 1 item! This Daiso is smaller than the other Daiso's but has pretty much everything you need in a smaller store. The price ranges anywhere from $1.50 to $3.00 and maybe $6-$9. They literally have everything here you need for everyday living. They also have refrigerated drinks with plenty of assorted teas, juices, and coffees. I enjoy some really good Japanese jasmine tea and the canned black coffee. They sell assorted instant ramens ranging from miso, shoyu, and have udon noodles as well! They sell curry packs and also Japanese condiments like salad dressings and tonkatsu sauce. My personal favorite is the salt and black pepper mix where they also sell the refill packs if you previously owned a shaker. They have a huge variety of chips and snacks and also kewpie salad dressings! They sell all types of chips with unique tasty flavors and crackers as well. For the snacks they have a lot of flavored pocky and caramel corn and a huge selection of candy for those sweet tooth lovers. Enough for the goodies lets talk about everything else they sell. This place literally has everything you need from kitchen appliances, cleaning gear, and office use. The bowls and plates and Tupperware is the star of the show! You cant beat the deals they have for them as well as the bowls and plates they have to offer. The kitchen appliances are the best and very useful. There are also seasonal items such for spring they have garden items, and for Halloween and Christmas. They also sell kid mask with Japanese characters on them. Overall awesome place to do some shopping for everyday living but beware when you come in this store I'm pretty sure you will leave with more than you expected! It always happens but you will be happy with what you purchased and insured by the awesome quality! As a reminder there is a no return policy! All sales final and nice brown bags are 20 cents each for your convenience!

Great place to purchase Japanese items on the cheap! Pencils, staplers, student supplies, household stuff and more. Even cheap cosmetics. And many of the candies and junk food found in Japan.

This is my favorite store! I just love Daiso and started a new 'gotta check out all nearby Daiso' stores! Disney, Hello Kitty and all his friends! If you can think of the weirdest thing you may need, it's at Daiso. If I think it hasn't been created, it's at Daiso. This store in particular had more Disney than the last one I was at, and it even had stainless steel Disney flatware! From painting to cleaning, it's here. And, the staff was so pleasant at the checkout counter which just made our first experience there a memorable one. This is a new must when I'm in National City. :)

Found super cute things! Definitely recommend! All was $1.75 and a few items $1.00 because they were on clearance

Daiso has become one of my favorite stores to find Sanrio/Hello Kitty items for such an affordable price at $1.75 and a few items were $1.00 because of clearance! Second time visiting in the past week! Fast service!

Hmmm, yeah. Not the best Daiso out there, but can only put so many things in such a small location.....I do appreciate the staff's effort on filling the space as much as they can though lol. If you've never been into a Daiso, it's a Japan-centric store with an extensive variety of things, such as snacks, kitchenware, glassware, stationary, gift bags, etc. For those who are into cute Japanese stuff, Daiso is one of the most dangerous stores you'll ever encounter as most of the stuff here is kawaii-fied lol. General shoppers can really enjoy this place also as most of the stuff here is $1.50 (granted the quality of the stuff, especially the kitchenware, might be questionable but hey you get what you paid for). No exchanges/returns btw. Parking can get pretty bad especially on weekends as there a bunch of shops that share the same lot.

Super clean store! Everything is organized well. This place has everything, from stationary to portable potties. I was impressed! Not everything is $1.50. So make sure to double check the prices!

Typical Daiso store that's nearly organized. This store would likely have all the items the Kearny Mesa one has.

National City location. This place is great! Reminds me of when I was a kid living in Yokosuka, Japan. Lots of cool items as you go up & down the aisles. It would be hard to leave the store without buying something. :) Parking can get hard in front. Note: if you park at the end by the Big Lots. Much more parking & less stress. My kids love Daiso. Ask the Community - Daiso

Anyone know the condition of the store post lockdown/quarantine? Is there a line going into the store? Social distancing perhaps? Since the aisles are small, how many people allowed in the store at a time?

I went awhile ago during quarantine. They limit customers inside (I forget how many at a time), so expect to wait a little in line outside. Mask required of course. Line went by quickly though. Otherwise you are allowed to shop freely.

I noticed that this location has a lot of things that aren't found at the Kearny Mesa or Mira Mesa locations, which is a plus!

I found a couple of useful items. These are returns or overstock from companies and these small vendors bid on pallets and charge whatever they want for them. They had some real good deals for what they were charging that day and came home with some goodies. The little young boy working the front was also such a little gentleman and a true hustler. The young businessman offered me a large bag to hold all my items when he saw I had a handful of things. The place is cluttered and messy though. The items in the bins are somewhat ripped open or sealed so whatever you're buying is either defective or used so be careful what you're paying for. Also, a lot of the stuff sitting at the back are dusty and old. The area should be more organized or clean. Other than that I'd probably check them out again. The one-off is that their store hours is WRONG on Yelp/website. They are not closed Thursdays. When we called to confirm, the guy behind the phone didn't understand what we were trying to tell him and he hung up.

Once upon a time, one of my favorite hidden gems of Chula Vista has become a regular priced store. The selection for the most part still varies... but they always have shoes, clothing, household items, bedding amd furniture along with holiday or seasonal items. The back section inside is now blocked, it use to house more furniture. The warehouse is located next door... unfortunately im not sure if they are just relaxing in times... but I've been here right at opening and nothing is set up, until you are walking in and they are bringing stuff out. So a little inconvenient when your coming to look, shop and leave... the setup remains the same as they have clothing bins for you to rummage through. There is always a $1 basket or bin of clothes available. Discounted shoes and household items. I've never had bad customer service here, but as usual the prices pretty much match normal store prices now. Not sure if they are not getting much of a deal on their end or just raising the prices regardless. Even with the discounts, some items its not worth it and definitely check expiration dates on food items. If you have time to rummage through or price check, this place could be for you. Most of my visits I've left empty handed and gone to GTM, but other times I've found some bargains still. Coming into 2026, I hope they remain in business. I still enjoy the thrill of finding a steal deal or maybe mislabeled price tag.

Sometimes they have a lot of great new merchandise and it's easy to navigate to find what you need. Most time there are a lot of issues with cluttered items in different areas and not organized well to shop easily. I found this visit to be the latter, where there were not enough organized items of merchandise stocked well so it was all in different places of the store. For example, I found about 4 brand new, unopened candles in the bathroom accessories area, instead of the candle area. Also, I found a stack of 6-8 beautiful framed wall art boxes in the ladies bra area, someone just left them there, on the floor. I was able to find a couple of nice housewares items in the correct space, and they were in good shape for purchase; so I went for it. If they had more employees to organize and restock their inventory, they would be a much more successful store. I would shop here more. Also, the socks area is a hot mess dot com. I found so many things that don't belong in this area here, and it was ridiculous. I want to like this store, but I always get disappointed more than happy after shopping here.
