I would like to give this place more stars but every time I come there is some issue. This past Sunday 9/27/26 they had a shoplifting incident and there were several (3-4) police cars outside. When I got out of the car, there was a pile of brand new clothing with tags on them thrown in the parking planter next to my parking spot. Another cop car was behind the area searching the culvert. The merchandise needs to be refreshed and stock could use some replenishing. It is always sad to see the picked over housewares, makeup, and shoes. The only area that is decent is possibly the blouses for women and the shoes. Please get more stock and try to have your security/loss prevention keep an early eye on the bad actors who want to steal. read more

Have always liked this location and the quality of name brands sold at this store. I mean who doesn't like getting name brand clothing for a discount!! The downfall, inventory is random and if you find something you like it is best to make the purchase right then and there. Chances of you coming back and it being there are slim to none. During quarantine this place was empty... it seems inventory is still not pre-COVID status but still able to find some really good deals. You are always greeted upon entering, they do have a very friendly and welcoming security guard as.well as friendly staff and cashiers. read more

If you've never been to DD's before, picture a Ross store with cheaper stuff and also cheaper quality LOL It almost looks identical to Ross but a lot of their stuff is mostly unknown brands. You know how Ross will at least have recognizable brands like their shoes will be Nike, Steve Madden etc., here at DD's their brands will be similar to the non-brand stuff the boutiques sell at Plaza Bonita. It's not completely terrible if you're looking for cheap deals like a white elephant gift LOL. They had some clothes that were kinda cute but the quality wasn't that great so I didn't ending up buying any. They do however have a bunch of brand toys for cheap. I remember going to the Norcal location a couple of years ago and a lot of toy brands like Barbie and Hot Wheels were super cheap under $5, great place if you're donating to a toy drive for Christmas and you want your money to go far. read more

I'm going to have to take away a star. My daughter and I were shopping and my daughter needed to use the restroom. When I asked the lady in the back that my daughter needed to use the restroom, she said no. Every store, well majority of stores have restrooms even Ross. I was a little upset at the lady. I walked away with my daughter to the restaurant that we had eaten at, Casa De Oro, and they let us use the restrooms there since we just had eaten there. I have never went into a store and not found a restroom. I had my 6 year old daughter with me. I'm thinking twice about the employees that work here. No one had a smile on their face as if these ladies were unhappy working here. I definitely didn't like that! At least the security guy seemed a little more nice than the ladies here. I would have to agree with some of the comments here about customer service. Maybe I won't give this location my business but find it elsewhere. read more

BOO!!!!!!!!! their cashiers are the WORST!!!!!!! Unprofessional & Uneducated..... Suggestion: Do Not try to return anything there - because they treat you like a second class citizen. 1. New merchandise 2. Never Used 3. Receipt Valid 7 days old 4. Tags on Merchandise They TORTURE customers returning items....... You will wait, wait, wait & wait in line (even though you arrived before the new paying line) they'll still make you wait, wait, wait & wait some more. It's a good thing I'm off work today Got my credit back on my credit card.... they don't mention it cause they'd rather give you store credit not me - cause I had my receipt, credit card & tags all lined up - had to give credit my charge card back!!!! read more

Clean organized store that does remind me hardcore of Ross Dress for Less. Very good deals saw lots of good prices. Quality as always have to search for the good things. Structured exactly like Ross. Not to many people despite the fact that it is almost Christmas. Lots of parking- rest of the shopping strip area is kind of dead with low amounts of people. Still kind of looks like staples from the outside. read more

This location is the former home of Staples on Sweetwater Road. It's a very large store, and being a newly opened one, is quite well stocked. The discounts are deep, and the inventory is plentiful. The store is extremely well organized and very well lit, unlike Staples, which had wasted space and marginal lighting. For fans of Ross and Marshal's, this place will really resonatel The closest competitors in National City would be Big Lots on Plaza Blvd and Walmart on Highland Avenue. read more

I worked for dds/ Ross in the past and they are really good at disappointing, they're lucky i have to give them at least 1 star! I was told I could work part time 5:45-1:45 pm and my original hiring manager went on deployment, I was left with a team that was unfit and I was left to drown essentially. 1 week after starting my schedule got cut yo no more than 8 hrs per work week , later on that dropped to 3.5 hours per work week. I have put my two weeks in and my last day was scheduled to be the 05/15 I am yet to receive my final paycheck , I called management and they told me I was called by 2 managers I have no record of either calls no voicemail , managers constantly showed up late when I was opening pushing back my start time because of their lack of time management. Do yourself a favor dont work here !!! Not Ross not dds it's not worth the hassle read more

Got a pair of scrubs for $15 pretty great deal if ya ask me! My first time being there and it was nice. Security and everyone is friendly.

Disclaimer: some other reviewers might have had a grim experience at this store, but this is only based on my first time experience I had shopping here last winter. I remember that my only intention coming here was to drop by and hand in a job application. After I decided to explore around the store...I was hooked. DD's had so many apparel pieces to choose from along with accessories, shoes, hair care products, and just everything I would imagine myself buying! I swear, the next time I decide to treat myself and save money, I'm definitely stopping by again. read more

No clue why all my friends were raving about this place. It's a hot mess. The clothes are very low quality and the customer service is non existent. You literally get what you pay for. Went in there twice and walked right out empty handed. read more

I love DD's. I come here to buy fashionable, unique, and on trend clothing. The prices of many of the items sometimes are unbelievable, they are so inexpensive. I mainly buy women and men's tops, dresses, and houseware items. If I am wearing something cute, 9 times out of 10 I've gotten it from DD's. People are constantly complementing my clothing and I always tell them instantly that I got it at DD's. It is best to shop this location on a Wednesday or Thursday for best selection, neatness, and less people shopping. Out of all the local DD's, this is probably my favorite location. It is always well stocked and clean. The employees are always very friendly and helpful. I normally have my receipt when I do a return and I do them within the 30 days, so I've never had any problems doing returns. I always have a return handy to get in the return line and beat the longer just purchasing line. The issue with the bathroom can make things challenging, but I just try my best to plan around it. I love me some DD's and go several times a month to the various local locations. read more

This store has no rest room. When I end up going to the Carl's Jr. I had to buy something cause I was not a customer. Then I walk back to the store where my kids are waiting to pay and the rent a cop tells me I can't come in with food. Wtf.. I had to buy something cause they had no bathroom. I spent over 250 at the store and I can't use the bathroom. So where do they shit. Then I can't walk out with a cart.. never coming back to this store. read more

Good place to shop if you are on a budget. Brands are not the high quality. It is like Ross. I happened to come to this store because I have never been here ever since they opened. I thought I would checked it out. read more

I wish I could give them a proper review however I tried to walk into their store with a drink (which had a lid, mind you) and they declined my business by asking me not to come in with it. I definitely wasn't going to throw away a drink I just bought, and it's not like you guys are selling high end goods and Persian rugs. You must not like money very much. Your loss, D.D. read more

They need to be nicer to customers when at the check out stand. Example: I'm Checking out my items and after I pay, just before I put my wallet away I have the next customer next to me. That is so RUDE and worst of all they ask if you can move to the side. I'm sorry I guess customer service is not there stronghold but it should be their priority to better themselves. I know most people would tell me shop somewhere else I'm here for the deals not the conversations but it's better when someone is polite and doesn't rush you off. read more

Just wanted to look around and see what they had... great deals BUT after an hour of browsing cane tofu for out there was no customer restroom. The fitting room lady was very unapologetic but agreed that not having a restroom for customers sucked. I wanted to empty my bladder and continue shopping but instead I had to cut it short and only left with few items. I'll go back again but this time I'm not drinking a thing until after I'm done browsing. Lol read more

I used to love shopping at dd's Discount but today was a bad experience. I would have shopped quite awhile but the bathrooms are now closed to customers so we had to leave! I'm also handicapped so that made it very inconvenient. I'll shop at the other discount places now. read more

I called the National City store looking for a dog grooming kit hoping they would have one at this location. Unfortunately they did not. Regardless the employee that answered the phone was so nice & so helpful it took me by surprise. Raven was not only professional but very was very courteous. It's rare nowadays to come across someone that displays exceptional customer service. Big to Raven from National City!!! She deserves a raise promotion or some type of acknowledgement from DDs that they have a great employee working for them. read more

This store reminds me of Fallas but a lil better in terms of variety. Low quality brands for the family that is on a budget. Prices are competitive and I'm able to find nice stuff depending on the days I go. Lines can get long and customer service is average. read more

Another copy of Ross only lesser quality merchandise. Will be reporting that they don't allow customers to use the four bathrooms that are in the store. I believe the law requires a store of that size to provide a restroom for their customers. read more

That location was bad! Too messy and disorganized. And they don't have restrooms, so that's really inconvenient

Clothes and house accessories are very cheap. Will get good quality of clothing. I always enjoy coming here I come very often to get either work out clothes or just because. I give it 4 starts because customer service can be better sometimes they can be very rude. Also because they don't allow to use the bathroom. I been to the one in ocean view and they do allow to use the bathroom in that location. read more

Ughhh why do the employees in the store all seem like they don't want to be there or either they're too busy following you around the store like you're going to still something even though they have no idea I came here with a few hundred to spend....They make u uncomfortable I RATHER GOT TO THE MALL AND PAY FULL PRICE AND GET BETTER TREATMENT read more

PROBLEM #1: ONLY 2 DRESSING ROOMS FOR MEN! 5 rooms for women! I had to wait 15 minutes before a room was free to try on clothes! I've never heard of a store that big having only 2 dressing room. Also, it's unfair that there are more rooms for women. I've never seem anything like this. PROBLEM #2: I had to wait 20 MINUTES IN THE FRONT CHECKOUT LINE to pay for my items! Only 2 cashiers at the front checkout counters. Even worse is the return line is separate from the main line and the cashier just says "next in line". She didn't ask if the other person had a return so there was confusion as to who was next. A manager FINALLY opened a 3rd register to start ringing up other customers AFTER 20 minutes. Unacceptable for a store that's owned by the same company that owns Ross and TJ Maxx. This location has barely been open for one week and there are already major problems and turn-offs. My visit was on 10-6-15 at approximately 2pm. If the waits are that long at that time of day when most people are at work, I can only imagine it's even worse after the 9-5 working people are shopping. Never again! read more

Today i went to dds i have never had a bad experience like today . I was checking out and like always this store is disorganize so the check out is full of other things . My cashier rang up an item that was not mine . I told him the item was not mine . He raised his voice in a mad tone and said i dont know what is yours or os not . I told him again that the item was not mine. He was extreamly rude and its not my fault je hates his job. Hes a white , tall , and bald. Horrible customer service . read more

Was there on March 7th. 2017. As soon as I walked I to the store, I was immediately greeted and welcomed by Ismael. This place is a hot mess. Go to Ross or marshalls before this place! The place was torn apart and everything was really low quality.

This DD's is huge! And the store is well kept and very neat. I love that they are open till 10:30pm! LOVE IT!!!

I came here on the recommendation of my cousin which is a medical assistant. I needed scrubs and she said this was the ace to go for affordable ones. I found some and paid $10 for a whole set. Didn't get to shop around as I had one goal. It reminds me of a Ross. read more

I had a super bad experience at the Sweetwater DD's discount I bought a jean for 14 99 and a month later I returned it and the manager said is worth $0.49 and they were laughing the manager and said the only thing I get back is $0.49 because that's what the machine was saying is this play a joke they have no education read more

Decided to go by after making a purchase at Verizon a few doors down. Upon entering a very rude girl with a "loss prevention" vest said I needed to leave my bag at the front or couldn't go in. Um.... Good location. Like the prices, good selection, terrible cashiers. I find it rude for the cashier to start calling her next customer not only when I'm still there but when I'm not even done paying. It's demeaning. That poor old lady in front of me could barely walk. She said she felt rushed and pushed out of the way. never felt so embarrassed in a discount store before. the security was following me and my son around like we're going to steal something. when I finally made eye contact to the security guy, he asked me if I can tell my son to stop picking things up and leaving it everywhere which is not the case. we were there for 10 minutes tops and I have to leave there so angry. thank you very much dd's discount employees.
