For the most part, I go to dollar tree for their Mylar balloons, iced coffees, party supplies and all of their seasonal decor. You can get some Pretty cool holiday decorations if you get to the store right when they stock the shelves, but sometimes it's hit or miss. Some of their cashiers are very friendly and patient which is needed. Honestly some stores carry better selections than others and many of the items you find at the Dollar Tree you can find at Walmart for a cheaper price. Dollar Tree Is a gamble. Always 30 people in line and only one register open and the other person working is always doing some other irrelevant activity while this is going on . And why is the manager gonna have an attitude when asked to check a $100 for authenticity by another employee? They told me the manager would help me at the other register but he took a long time and every other customer was checked out before i was even helped. I just left the store with less than subpar customer service. The female cashier at register had her cellphone visable and was online during her interaction with customers. I had two items which I separated from the customer behind me and she removed it for some reason saying it was not needed. I have frequented this location. However it has drastic went to hell. The lines are ridiculously loooooong. - cashier open... 6 people in line? Where's the staff?!!! This store is nasty, very disorganized and looks horrible. Several areas of the store of missing ceiling. Gigantic holes are in the ceiling. Trash was in all the aisle. I understand that's it's a dollar store but dang it doesn't have to look like it cost a dollar to build nor maintain. I like coming here once in a while. The store is pretty big, and clean compared to other dollar stores.. I mainly like coming here for party supplies, including gift bags and cards... My favorite place to get fake flowers & other decoration stuff. It's really convenient for me since my college is right in front of them. I never ever buy their home care or any lotion of soaps from here cause I read an article about these items being harmful to humans. This Dollar Tree is conveniently located across Southwestern College. So, if you'e a student/faculty this is a great place to buy forgotten snacks, school supplies, or kill time. I like this place because its in the middle of the Bonita and Eastlake area. It has saved me many times from buying forgotten Celebration/Occasion cards, gift wrap and party supplies. I love randomly going to the Dollar Tree because I end up finding things that I don't need, but end up being very useful. I'm glad that it's at a convenient location, as well. My favorite items to get here are their balloons because they last a pretty long time and they're only $1, just like everything else. Are you kidding me?! What a steal. There are so many fun knick knacks (I don't even say that word!) If I ever need certain supplies, but don't care too much about quality (such as mini candles, glue sticks, gift bags), then I can definitely go here. Not all things are "bad" quality though, they do carry some brand name stuff. One thing that is a little annoying is the fact that a lot of the times I go, there's only one cash register that's open, so the line is extremely long. The line(s) are always long whenever I go. This Dollar Tree is located across from Southwestern College and luckily their school supplies section is huge and well stocked. It's also THE place for party supplies. They have the biggest selection of everything you need for a banging party. I usually will go to dollar tree for birthday cards, wrapping paper or gift bags. This location has got you covered. Hello Dollar Tree! I honestly can't believe this is the first one in our area. People in the Chula Vista suburbs like to save money too! You can honestly find anything here and contrary to popular belief not everything is not badly made. There are name brand items such as Colgate toothpaste, Cheetos, and Arizona beverages so not everything is generic "Dollar Tree" brands that you've probably never heard of. This store also has a great selection of birthday cards (2 for $1), party supplies, and kitchen supplies. And if you're a student at Southwestern College you can just cross the street and buy lunch for less than $5! Since the store is still fairly new to the area its still really clean and I hope it lasts because it is honestly a good place to pick up basic things for the house. Normally, I love DT and shop there often. However didn't have a very good experience today. The male bleached blonde cashier threw me out of his line saying he was closing. Seconds after I got out and lined up in the longer line, a guy got in his line. I waited to see if he would throw him out too. He didn't. I guess ok with him to treat me different. I said to him I thought you were closing. He mumbled crap I didn't understand. I have to add, the cashier that rang me up was very, very nice and made up for it. I catch myself going to this dollar tree quite often. It's so useful when you need something quick but don't want to break the bank! It's also near my house! There are brand items here - Betty Crocker Tupperware, Colgate, Gatorade, and candy galore such as Reese's peanut butter cups, Snickers, M&M's and much more! They are always putting new items on the shelves which makes it that much more appealing. In the front of the store they always put the items that are in season. Such as Easter, Halloween, Valentines day! I have asked for certain items but they do not know what they will get or when they will. So at times it's a hit and miss. I have bought many items to do DIY (do it yourself) projects such as white coffee cups to draw on, sharpie drawn on reusable cups, kraft paper for wrapping gifts, playing cards turned into a small story book. I've also made care packages! $20 makes 4 care packages which is great for service projects. The entire building is clean and they have carts to put your items while shopping. I find myself coming here usually during the months of November-December. You can find nice gift tags, wrapping paper, snack bags, gift bags, and other miscellaneous Christmas/Holiday items. Their decorative items are ok; kinda cheap looking, but hey it's $1. I've bought a few picture frames here, but the quality looks cheap and one even broke on me as soon as I opened it to put up a picture. So it's a hit or miss. They do have cute cups/mugs for $1 which i have bought a handful of for the house. I haven't yet bought any food items here (it's just a thing I have about buying food at discount stores. I'm sure it can't be bad, it's just my thing..). They have a good deal on nice cards: 2 for $1. And they aren't cheap looking like some of the $1 cards you see around. I often go to Dollar Tree. I love it! I know what to expect. I am constantly doing projects. I think it's just crazy to buy party table cloths at a party store when Dollar Tree has the same thing. My family loves pumpkin seeds. We bring them everywhere. DT has the brand we love and we can buy it buy the case. Woohooo! DT accepts coupons too. A lady in front of me had coupons for a certain hand soap and only had to pay the .08 cents tax. So cool. One of these days I'll do that too, I just need to remember to bring my coupons. I like the fact that this Dollar Tree is pretty much down the street from where we live. It's a convenient location and pretty much stocked full of a bunch of things that you may need (or not need, but will get anyways because it's only a $1 ^_^). There are some downsides to this location though (one being that the parking can get super hectic, another is that the store may not get stocked as fulling during/after the holidays, and you can get stuck in a store filled with a bunch of people wanting/needing the same things as you....so it can just get super crazy here), but still worth going to just to see what they have in stock. I have found myself walking in for certain items and finding that I will want to purchase more just so that I know I'll have enough and not have to fight a rush on my next visit. Hello dollar store! First one that opened up in our area. Pretty excited to go and pick up some Christmas items. They have a mediocre selection of Christmas items ranging from garlands to ornaments and a plethora of stockings, but be wary that they are dollar items and you can't expect perfection with dollar items. Ended up purchasing a few fake florals to decorate the house with. Check out lines were fast and the people on the floor were busy cleaning up the mess that the customers made. I feel their pain. What an interestingly convenient place. I gave it three stars only because of the appearance of the place alone. The "Un-real Sour Creme" really had me scratching my head. It's not a good look when you have about 12 people in an unorganized zig-zagged line, one cash register open and three employees huddled up in a corner totally ignoring the customers. So, finally along comes a heavy set Mexican lady with blonde hair to open a new register. Let's keep in mind we are fourth in line according to the order of whatever the hell was going on. This lady of course choose the next in line, which was the third in line. We follow and she tells us that we need to go to the back of the line due to the line out of order. I DON'T THINK SO!!! So I followed the third person to pay. She rang us up and gave us pesos .25 instead of quarter in change!!! NO-NO-NO!!! had to go back inside to get my American change, she looked at me as if I carried pesos!
