At first, I thought I was imagining it, so I deliberately walked to a different area to see if they would continue. They did. They tried to cover it up by constantly asking if we needed help. Within about five minutes, my friend and I were asked three separate times if we needed assistance. They also kept pretending to straighten merchandise and put items back on shelves right next to me while watching us. It was obvious what they were doing. My friend and I got so irritated that we just left without buying anything. It was clear we weren't welcome there. It's sad because I used to come here all the time in high school and throughout my 20s. I don't know what happened to this place, but they clearly racially profile their customers. You would think a store that sells so many products promoting inclusion and progressive values, especially in such a liberal city, would hold itself to the same standard. This is covert racism, and I will never be coming back to this establishment. Do better.

Really fun place to grab some cheap stuff, but you have to come and line up on Friday if you want a…read morechance at anything valuable. This place is huge and crazy hectic as there are many other hardcore shoppers and they pack the bins so full you have to dig through tons of broken junk. There's good stuff for sure but because of the mess + the mad dash of other shoppers, you'll see probably 1% really awesome stuff, 4% worth it stuff, and 95% crap. Not a place for beginners, people come in and rummage through stuff really fast. By 10am all the good stuff is gone and it's 100% crap. Their ads on FB hype up like a hundred cool items and electronics but in person I saw only like 3. Don't know if they space out the restocking or just post lies to get you to come in. Anyway I always walk away with a small cartload of stuff very tired and dirty.

This is nothing more than an Amazon return bin store. I first went to one of these in Tulsa, OK in…read moreJuly 2021 and was surprised when I returned home to LA County that I couldn't find anything with a similar concept here. This place opened last winter according to what I read online. The 3/5 stars is due to how much better the one in OK was because they actually restock on weekends. This place hypes itself up on its FB page, showing bins and bins full of large boxes and crazy announcements being made with a megaphone while everyone tramples each other to get the best stuff. I knew going on the $6 Saturday that if I wasn't camped out at 4am, a lot of the boxed stuff would be gone. However, I got there within an hour of the 9am opening and none of the bins (and there are A LOT) had any of that stuff in it. I was there for almost 2 hours ... on a weekend ... when they're supposed to restock constantly. They didn't roll out a single bin the whole time I was there. Categorizing things, I'd say the bins contained about 70% returned clothes from Amazon in bags, 20% housewares, 5% food products, and 5% other. I'm very pregnant with our first, so I was looking for baby stuff mostly. I walked out with 2 different types of pregnancy pillows by Boppy (retail $20 and $30) and a package of 2 bassinet waterproof mattress covers (retail $20) for under $20 total after tax ($6/item). For me, still a net win. I'm a big time thrift store junky, so I enjoy stuff like this. I recommend wearing gloves and a mask because this place seemingly has no employees going around clearing out all the trash in the bins, so it's very messy. If you're not a true thrifter, you'll hate this place. There's 0 organization, it's dirty, customers bite each other's heads off over items, and you really have to dig for stuff. I enjoy the process, but most don't lol. The place would score 4/5 from me if they actually operated as advertised and replaced bins on weekends. They also need to do a much better job at getting the trash out of the bins. There's no bathroom inside, which wasn't ideal for my very pregnant self. :)
