I was a regular customer however this was my first visit to this location. The 2 stars are for my manicurist only. Will not be back. Very poor manicure and she cut me. I was bleeding from the cuticle index finger left hand. My writing hand. I think she knew it too. She tried to cover it up with cream and oils. I'm very concerned about infection. I didn't even begin to bleed until I was on the train ride home. I called them to report this. The manager I spoke to was nice about it. Offered me an apology and voided the transaction, so no charge. The quality of the manicures overall at this business has suffered a lot. I'm not sure exactly what happened, new owners ? I went to the Newbury Street Mini Lux for a mani pedi. The service was fine (not great) and when I checked my bank account the next day they had charged me three times for my service. I called to have the issue resolved and it's been three days without them reversing the charges. They have no managers on site that handle finances and all their finance people work remotely and are unreachable. I would highly recommend staying away from this company. I visited MiniLuxe with a friend to get a regular polish manicure and pedicure. I specifically requested Natalia, as one of my colleagues had recommended her to me. She was thorough and did a great job on my manicure-pedicure. She spent a lot of time shaping my nails exactly how I had asked, which was great. For a Sunday afternoon, the salon was empty, which was really nice. I recently got a much needed pedicure here for my birthday. This is the second or third time I've been to this location and I cannot say enough good things about it. I made my appointment the day of , which is usually difficult to do at MiniLuxe, and the lady on the phone was super friendly and squeezed me into a time slot that worked best for me. I love their colors but do wish they'd come out with a few new ones. The actual salon is very clean and well organized. The lady who did my nails was super sweet and even let me try two different colors on my big toe to see which one I preferred. However, lately I have been noticing that the gel manicures do not last as long as they should, especially for a $48 price tag. I pointed out to the nail technician that I didn't think the light machine was working correctly, she assured me it was, and this is what my nails looked like 4 days later. I live in LA, I travel to Boston every month for work. MiniLuxe is the cleanest nail salon in the city, excluding including the spas. However, the last few years the service has been terrible. The mani/pedis are ok, again I come for the cleanliness. I am a loyal Olive & June fan when I'm home, but if I NEED a mani/pedi and didn't have time before I head to a boston. This week was the second time the screwed up my appointment. The last time they offered me a free mani and pedi for the inconvenience. Ok, that's nice. This time, I showed up 5 mins early, the person at the front told me I was 15 mins late. I showed her my confirmation email then she looked it up and said they don't have my appointment on the books as they just switched platforms. That's not my fault, but needless to say I got no service, nothing offered but I'm sorry. So basically I booked my appointment early, they switched systems, dropped my appointment and someone else got it. I had an event the next day, I couldn't come back the next day for an appointment so I had to do my own nails. At the very least in a stressful night like that, they could have even squeezed me in between people and I would have waited to take my polish off, wait, then have someone else give me a quick manicure. I didn't even want polish. I work for a customer services based company, if we mess up, we bend over backwards to accommodate the customer in some way. I didn't expect that, but a little more than someone telling me 'I'm not saying it's your fault, I'm sorry'. Oh well! Won't be back unless it literally is an emergency and certainly not to this location. read more

I'm a big fan of Miniluxe, specifically their performance polish, and this location is super convenient for me. Before this location opened I used to go to the Prudential one, but that location was always packed. This new newbury street location is nice and much quieter. Like I said, I really enjoy their performance polish, the cost is similar to a gel manicure at regular salons, and typically lasts me about 2 weeks. The best part is it doesn't make your nails really thin, and you can take the polish off yourself with regular polish remover. In general I prefer Miniluxe over regular nail salons because it's much cleaner, smells better, and the staff seem like they are happy to work there (which is not true of most other salons). I don't get manicures frequently so when I do I'm happy to pay a small premium for much better service. read more

I had a wonderful experience here, but unfortunately the nail polish is terrible. Therefore, I could not rate this place any higher than a three. The service was on par and it seems like a very clean place. However, my nail polish peeled less than 24 hours after having them done. By day four, 8/10 nails have completed lost their polish or are partially painted. I even paid extra for their performance polish, which is supposed to wear like gel. The place is really nice and clean and the personnel very polite. However, the Performance Polish pedicure I received was mediocre and the technician not as experienced or knowledgeable as she should be- even though she was very nice and willing to make the corrections I asked her to. The cutting was uneven and the filing extremely basic, practically a not-so-straight-line across my nails. When I asked the technician to clean the excess skin of my very slightly in-grown big toe nail, she was not sure exactly what to do, as she was not "trained" for it and she told me next time to ask a different technician who knew how to do it. One of the main reasons I have pedicures is to make sure that I get treated by somebody who knows how to treat nails and feet as I want to protect them, otherwise I would do it myself. I've been using Miniluxe for many years. I'm writing to point out a completely inefficient system of managing appointments both for clients and their establishments. Today I had two back to back appointments here, I was late for the first one and thought they will likely and understandably not be able to perform​ that service but that it will not affect my second appointment since I'm half an hour early for it. To my surprise,​ I was told that I will be charged fully for that first appointment (not even for another potential shorter treatment or a quick pedi). I felt like I was being punished basically​ for showing up. What would a rational person do? I refused to pay for a service I will not receive, went to a coffee shop nearby, and booked two new appointments at another miniluxe a few blocks down the street and received an excellent and amazing service as usual. Let's think about the impact of this policy on your business: 1. A frustrated​ client who decided to cancel all services at that location. 2. Wasted time and appointment slot for your employees and potentially​ other clients. This is a lose-lose situation that doesn't make sense. Not to mention poor customer service as when I told the employee it's my first time to be late and I wasn't aware of this policy because I'm never late. They said I should pull out the email to read the policy and how I had to pay for both appointments. Obviously,​ I canceled​ everything and left! The appropriate customer service response would be to explain the policy and say since this is your first time we won't charge you but can only provide the second appointment which I'm half an hour early for. I'm extremely disappointed by​ this lack of efficiency and really illogical policy where you would force paying customers out of your store even though the employee is available and free. Please reconsider your policy and customer service. read more

I'm a huge nail enthusiast, always get gel manicure. Came here to have my gel removed and get a performance polish manicure. The gel wasn't removed properly, my nails were extremely bumpy with all the leftover gel. The application of performance polish was okay, but it still looked extremely bumpy and uneven. Also the whole thing seemed super rushed rather than precise and careful. Moreover, I had performance polish done before and it lasted me about 2 weeks without even chipping, this one didn't even last 3 days, the sides started chipping and peeling off. So wasn't worth the $30 & a tip. read more

The salon, especially Vanessa was great but the customer service/scheduling side was hideous. First time I called, and was crystal clear I wanted 31 Newbury (repeated it twice because I know someone who had this issue before). Hopped in Uber ($20) to get to 31N and found out a mistake was made and I was booked at the wrong place and didn't have enough time to make the change. Shuffled some work stuff and came back next morning before an event (needed the manicure and spent yet another $ 20 on Uber) and the woman next to me had just had the same issue. But the actual service was great so I rebooked thinking this was a fluke.This week I needed to change an appt and Hannah was fantastic. Changed it to Monday. By Saturday I knew I had a conflict so I called twice (first time their vm disconnected) and left a message. Then I got the text confirmation on Sunday so I called again and left a vm asking to call back to confirm receipt-no response. I called FIVE times this am and was disconnected four times but left yet another vm.They had the audacity to charge my card for a missed appt. I flipped. Called two more times. Call center disconnected twice more and left third message-which starts to feel psychotic. Finally, the asst manager calls and proceeds to apologize and explain cancellation policy but doesn't say, "we're mortified and so sorry. We havecredited your account and are offering you a complimentary man/ped for our subpar and continually awful service." He calls, I have to ASK for a refund which is agreed to in a tone that sounds like, "just this once" and I have to speak to someone (Hannah, who IS fantastic) tomorrow. Seriously?? I'm ready to send them a bill for MY billable time! I could have had my nails done in NYC by the end of all this time including the drive there!! read more

I consistently go to MiniLuxe at 31 Newbury and I've never had a bad experience! The girls at the front desk are always lovely and welcoming - they offer to take my coat and bag, and always offer me water or tea. So nice! Deena is the waxing queen - she's so gentle and thorough, leaving no hairs behind! She's also hilarious and nice, I honestly want to be her best friend! For nails, there's no one better than Nicole. I seriously don't know how she does it, but my cuticles are non-existent when she's done, and my polish lasts SO LONG when she paints my nails. I took my family here for my sister's wedding, hoping that it would be a nice experience. I had been here in the past, and had a good experience. The space is nice, and clean. I specifically told the front desk to give my sister, the bride, the best nail technician. She was given a male, who ended up not only doing her nails poorly, but was extremely rude. She needed another technician to redo her nails. The male technician was so rude, it was uncomfortable and awkward. I had told the front desk, and they were surprised, but didn't offer any help. My two girlfriends and I were really looking forward to having a relaxing Friday night after work girls night at MiniLuxe. We booked three coinciding mani appointments a week in advance. However, when we arrived Friday night, we were told there were only two appointments scheduled. Thankfully, there was a separate cancellation and they could fit the third mani in, however, would need to start it 20 mins later. While not ideal, we agreed to this. Myself and one other friend got started with our appointments on-time, while our third friend waited for her appointment to begin twenty minutes later. During this time, another person was seated for a mani and the staff then informed our third friend that she would need to wait even longer. This really annoyed us - the error was on MiniLuxe's end for getting our reservation wrong over the phone and they made no real show of apology, or, any other kind of compensation to make up for it. My third friend was so put-off by this point that she ended up not getting her nails done at all. In addition this, the colors selection for gel mani's was EXTREMELY limited and the colors were outdated. My gel mani also chipped 48 hours later. Overall, poor customer service, with limited gel polish selection. read more
