You start thinking of where you want to camp for the night so you open up Google maps on your phone and start looking around. There's Meridian campground and Deer Creek campground and hold on- what's that? Guided Goat Hikes?? Your heart races as you hope it's exactly what it sounds like. You fill out the brief online inquiry form hoping- no- PRAYING that there is last minute availability for the evening hike. Owner and founder, Tara calls you within a matter of minutes and is trying her best to accommodate your last minute request. She says she'll get back to you within a couple hours to confirm. Twenty minutes later, she texts to confirm. Your spirits soar. You show up at the predetermined location with your traveling companion and Tara shows up with a couple of goats. Juno and Buttercup are seasoned professionals and they know what they're doing. As you begin to hike, the goats set the pace at a comfortable conversational jaunt that allows your weak sea level lungs to function at 8000'. Tara is a true professional and speaks of her journey into guided goat hiking that is nothing short of inspirational. As the hike nears its end and the sunlight begins to fade, you know your memories of this experience never will. Now that you've been on this epic journey in my shoes, I hope you will take it upon yourself to have your own adventure with Tara and one of her many wonderful goats.

I had the best day, laughing, being around all the goats, a lovely group of people, and listening to Tara chatting and leading the group and informing us with amazing information about the Goats. She answered so many questions. I felt happy, safe and learned so much!! The hash browns were spices and seasoned. The biscuits and gravy were $18.50. The gravy was thickened flour milk, with no salt or pepper, the blandest gravy I ever had. It did nothing to enhance the flavor of the biscuits. It just made them soggy. The price for the meal was hefty. Coffee was good. Hot chocolate was delicious. I consider Conifer a 'highway' town,' catered to those folks passing through on 285. I was disappointed.

We stopped here on the way back to Denver the day after a wedding, so you know we were in desperate need of the coffee / water combo immediately. After getting that out of the way, you have about a million various breakfast / lunch combos at your disposal. We all got breakfast because a great perk of this cafe is that many meals come with a pancake. The sweet and salty breakfast combo was ideal. Their skillet meals were fantastic. If you don't want gravy, you can switch it out for their green chilis. Matter of fact, you can substitute pretty much anything for whatever you want here. It's like the Substitution Cafe. I don't think I will ever be back here in my life because I don't live anywhere near here, but if you're deciding on a place to go for breakfast, check it out!!

So, their pricing was in line with other high quality meals and it serves 10-12, which is perfect for 8 people on Thanksgiving ;) I ordered the whole roasted turkey (they have several types of turkey available) and the side dish bundle which included mashed potatoes, sage stuffing, praline sweet potatoes, green beans almandine (with tons of yummy bacon), gluten free gravy, cranberry relish, and brioche rolls. The non-contact, drive through pick up the day before Thanksgiving was staffed by very helpful, friendly people wearing masks. They put my order on my back seat and I was through the line in less than 10 minutes. When I got home, I immediately started unpacking everything so I could divide it up into "to go" orders for my family Zoom on Thanksgiving. I thought the turkey was frozen and started to panic but when I called them, they said it was not really frozen but very chilled and the shrink wrap made it seem frozen. They had me submerge it in hot water for about an hour. The directions say to heat it in the oven for about an hour, then tent it to rest, then slice it. Since I didn't have time for that, after it warmed up, we were able to slice off enough for my daughter's family so we could give her her share when she dropped off the pies. I split up the meal 4 ways and with her pies, we delivered everything just in time for our 1:00 pm Zoom. We all had different favorites for the food but we all agreed that everything, including the turkey (after we each heated up our own part) was delicious. My favorite was the praline sweet potatoes. They were creamy and had a great praline flavor and came with candied pecans to sprinkle over the top. I highly recommend this complete meal from Tony's and it would have been so easy if we were having people over. The fact that I had to divide and package it up made it a little more difficult but still much easier than cooking. They are offering more meals for the holidays that include turkey or prime rib, beef tenderloin or Applewood smoked ham. I'm betting they are all delicious! Thank you Tony's for making my pandemic Thanksgiving so much easier! You are my new "go to" for family meals.

We especially loved the cornbread stuffing and potatoes. We also had ham which I was expecting to be generic processed "ham in a can" and that was not the case. It was really favorable. I engaged Lilli's services because she claimed to have experience with my chosen venue in Aspen. However, when I inquired about my entrance, she couldn't provide a clear answer. On the actual wedding day, she seemed unsure of how I should make my entrance down the aisle. She later mentioned that she had given me options for the entrance just moments before I was due to walk down. Why should such a critical decision be left until the most nerve-wracking moment? Lastly, we had a flower girl and her mother who arrived late to the rehearsal, meaning we couldn't practice their roles. Lilli failed to communicate the necessary instructions to them after they entered, leading to the flower girl becoming upset and wandering aimlessly during the ceremony. When we confronted these issues to her next day, she said "if this is going to ruin your wedding, your marriage is not going to last" If you want to hear this after your wedding day, please hire her

We reached out to Lilli Black on a whim, not expecting a reply, as we are working with a very small budget. How wrong we were! Lilli didn't just reply, she replied at 9:00pm at night 10 minutes after my initial query. She even conversed with me for over an hour, providing me insights, general advice and really calming my nerves! The next day we were in her office! She gave us the full run down on a typical budget, potential place we can host it at, and completely different styles of wedding. We haven't even engaged her yet, and she was professional to the T, providing us insight in the spirit of good will. She has hosted 1000+ weddings and the experience showed in her candor, knowledge base and demeanor. At the end of the day, we didn't manage to book Lilli only because our first choice became available. We had imagined a beautiful outdoor wedding with a rustic reception that Lilli mentioned was definitely doable, even with our tiny budget. But if you want someone you can depend on, and someone that will be there for you when the wedding nerves start bulding, there's no one better than Lilli Black.
