This was a cool museum! I enjoyed the tour we had with our guide. He was knowledgeable and made the tour fun. The whole tour lasted an hour and a half. The museum had a lot of interesting bones and cool history. Parking in front as well. The tickets were a bit expensive but worth it.

A wonderful and educational experience at Morrison's Natural History Museum. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The guided tour was outstanding and they were great with small children. If you are a dinosaur lover, this is the place for you.

We dropped in to this museum at the last minute as we were heading to Red Rocks to explore and I am so glad we did! We had the BEST TIME! From the moment we walked in, Mary Ann was so nice and talkative and welcoming. Then she did our guided tour and she is INCREDIBLE. You can tell she LOVES this job and is so passionate about it!! She had such great information!! I love her. And you can also touch real dinosaur bones in the museum. It's incredible! And she tells you "stick your head in their mouth for a selfie!" We had sooo much fun!

If you are looking for knowledgeable fossil tours look no further! Excellent staff happy to answer every question a child has. Also recent fossil discoveries. Hands on for kids!!!

We bought a bucket of toys and had some time out in the garden!

The admission price gets you an actual tour of the museum, and the volunteers are very knowledgeable. We came with a 2 y/o who really enjoyed the exhibits, but listened to less than half of the presentation. The volunteers are patient and helpful with every age child and adult. They just want you to have a good experience. I was wrangling the 2 y/old while my husband got to listen, but the visitors get to touch the dinosaur bones and teeth, look for fossilized footprints and analyze the footprints. Once we toured the building, there is a gift shop, a sand quarry to dig for your own fossils, and a chance to put on goggles and use a tool to expose fossils from rock. There are some areas to sit upstairs and out in the garden if you need a little time out. Parking is free right next to the building. I think you could visit several times and still hear or see something new. I recommend for kids of all ages. The iconic town of Morrison is close by, highly recommended for lunch or dinner or just to walk around.

This was the best dinosaur museum we have been to and we have been to many. Even though it is small, the staff & dinosaurs were amazing. We learned so much and loved seeing the lab where they work on the fossils. Go if you haven't been before!

This may not be on your to-do list when visiting Colorado, but it should. I highly recommend it. If your kiddos are dinosaur fans, they will LOVE it! Our tour guide, Alex was AMAZING!! So informative and very engaging. For a small museum this place was so impressive. Thank you Alex for being so inspiring. My kiddos found their love for dinosaurs all over again.

We were in town for spring break so we wanted to drop by and check it out. We arrived on a Thursday early evening. Red Rocks Amphitheater is located 10 miles southwest of Denver in the beautiful town of Morrison, CO. Parking is accessible all around the amphitheater. There was no concert scheduled that night. We were hoping to catch the sunset but unfortunately we missed it. The lighting was still great for pictures though. We parked by the Upper South Lot. From there it was a moderate 10 minute walk to the south ramp of the venue. During the walk the views of the valley is stunning. Once we made it inside the outdoor amphitheater, I was in awe of the beauty and ambiance of the Red Rocks amphitheater. The majestic backdrop of the red rocks was definitely something I have never seen before for a concert venue. It was unique and beautiful. We were able to start from the bottom of the stage area and make our way to the top. It was a nice workout climbing up the seats steps. From the top, the different angle view of the amphitheater and backdrop was amazing as well. Overall we enjoyed our time exploring Red Rocks amphitheater. It was a one of a kind experience. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed and we did not see a live concert at the venue. We hope to be back again so we can attend a concert.

Fantastic day trip from Denver for curious kids…read more My sister-in-law took the kids and me to Dinosaur Ridge for a picnic lunch, visit and ramble. It was a great way to spend a few hours outdoors and away from screens. There are ample picnic tables outside the visitor's center. Parking can be a little more limited, but you can park on the road outside and walk in. We did go into the visitor's center ($5/pp). There was a very nice volunteer there who talked to my son with enthusiasm and patience. The center is pretty small, but there were enough things for my son to examine and think about. He's 9 and well beyond his dinosaur obsessive days, but he was still curious about thing things he saw. The younger kids enjoyed digging for fossils in the sandbox outside. We also hiked along the walk way that spans between the visitor's center and the Red Rocks area. The walk is pretty level, and there are labeled areas that show dinosaur tracks and fossils. The views are also stunning of the whole Denver area basin. I'd happily return.

It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.
