We are on a tight budget and are amidst replacing the flooring in our kitchen due to a Summer pipe break that wreaked our kitchen. David arrived, very professional and personable. As he inspected our furnace and condenser unit we shared stories about being a father. He quickly assessed the problem and gave me a quote. I spoke to my wife and we quickly determined that we couldn't afford it, so I thanked him for coming out so quickly and declined the repair. With this ongoing heat wave, the AC was losing refrigerant at an alarming rate and my mom was having it done perhaps monthly and costs were piling up with the system still not fixed. This was when I finally tried to get a hold of Green Comfort after reading great reviews on Yelp. I initially got on Green Comfort's site and encouraged by how it's owned by a fellow Army veteran. I sent them an email via their site, on my mom's behalf since I live in FL, inquiring about an estimate for getting my mom's AC fixed. That message wasn't answered. My mom called them and while initially told her location is outside their service area, a tech named Perry came out to assess the issue on a Tuesday. Once he showed up, I spoke to him on the phone to let him know what's been done and to hear what his plan is to fix the system. He informed me that a 2-man team will have to come out to locate and fix the leak on Friday at 8 AM. My mom waited for AC tech from Green Comfort to show up at 8 AM Friday morning...and waited...and waited. She called the office repeatedly and a man named Franklin assured her that someone will show up. Noon came around then 5 PM and still no tech showed up. My mom waited all day and nobody from Green Comfort showed up and not even a courtesy phone call. Totally unprofessional! I even called them Saturday morning when they opened and nobody answered their phones. I even sent a message to the owner listed on Yelp and that was unanswered as well. With this ongoing heat wave, it is totally unacceptable and dangerous for an AC company to leave a customer, an elderly woman at that, on a lurch. At least have the decency to let a customer know the truth so other arrangements can be made.

Within a few hours, I was met with Joe who immediately recognized the problem (dual run capacitor) along with a few maintenance issues. Being that my unit is old, other vendors in the past , have immediately tried to pressure me to replace the whole unit. Joe on the other hand acknowledged it was old but that it could be fixed. To replace the dual capacitor and give the unit a nice tune up it was only $525. He broke apart the unit and conducted much needed maintenance.
