Pretty legit dumpling place. Their XLBs are good. I love xiao long baos, so I ordered my usual Crab and pork, truffle pork and regular pork. I would say this is a good amount for 1 person. The truffle pork and crab pork xlbs were the best. Pork xlb was good too but the other 2 stood out more. I wish they served it with finely sliced ginger too. The skin on these xlbs were thin and light. It made it somewhat easy to break as you picked it up and plopped it in your spoon, so be careful during the transfer. The skin is delicate. I got some free food from Yelp here and from the delicious way everything smelled inside I knew I'd have to come back asap. Luckily my friend is obsessed with this place so I got to come here today when we hung out!! I was excited to see the menu in full swing with nothing blacked out! There were also a ton of vegetarian options which I am pleased about because now I can recommend this place to my vegetarian friend. I also loved that they had chili oil at the table. My friend and I asked for everything to be spicy and we also doused everything in chilis and chili oil. Today, obviously we had to try a bunch of dumplings! I had gotten the Signature XLB Sampler for the Yelp event and loved everything but I couldn't tell which was which. Today, my friend and I decided to try out the pork soup dumplings (Xiaolonbao) today and they were amazing. There's actually a little note on each table telling you how to eat them. Apparently you poke a hole in them and let some of the soup out. That makes sense, because otherwise it's quite the mouthful. After that we were dunking them in our chili oil but then the waiter also brought us ginger and showed us how to pour soy sauce over it and dip the dumplings in that too. They were delicious and we made short work of them. We also got the pan fried dumpling sampler and got all the meats. Each one had a different color and they used natural food coloring like red cabbage for the purple ones which were chicken, carrots for the orange ones which were beef, and spinach for the green ones (which we didn't get but are for vegetable ones). The normal colored ones are the pork ones. Lastly, we got the wontons in chili sauce appetizer. It was awesome. And of course we added even more chili oil. We also got some chicken skewers spicy and some jiang noodles with pork, both spicy. The chicken was as good as last time which thrills me because usually skewers aren't good in my opinion. The noodles were delish but a little hard to share. It might be better as a single dish but since we were trying a little of everything this time, it was fine. Most of the meat was on the bottom so if you get this make sure to stir it up so you can get a good ratio of pork to noodle. Also pork was the absolute right choice for this as it was just amazing. I stopped in to pick up lunch to go, I love dumplings so I was very excited to try them. It was a late lunch and it wasn't too busy. Everyone was so nice and welcoming and the menu is packed with good things to try. I got the crab and pork soup dumplings , chicken spring roll and lamb skewers. As I waited for my food I enjoyed watching the owner make dumplings by hand, it was amazing to see. The restaurant is cozy with an open kitchen. Cute little mom and pop restaurant was an amazing place for dinner! You can even see the grandmas hand making the dumplings! This is as homely as it gets. The server was so helpful to make recommendations and when one of our kids dropped their chopsticks management immediately noticed and came over with a new set. Mingxia is a pretty decent spot that serves fairly authentic Chinese dishes. My favorites are the soup dumplings and their variety of meat skewers, the beef and chicken skewers are really good and well seasoned. I wouldn't recommend the squid skewer, it was too chewy and didn't have a good flavor at all. The soup dumplings are decent, the broth inside is very flavorful. We've also tried their signature pork buns, very fluffy and meaty fillings. As for other dishes, I wouldn't recommend the Malatang, it lacked the mala (numbing spice) flavor. I prefer the crossing bridge rice noodle better. Overall, it's a decent spot but nothing extraordinary. They're also always very busy and tend to run out of a lot of menu items. Zha Jiang noodle (dry noodle with pork sauce): The hand-pulled noodles have a nice chewy texture. I'd like to explore more of their noodle options next time. ! Grilled skewers (lamb, chicken, sausage): Well-seasoned with a noticeable charcoal aroma. Definitely one of the highlights. ! Dragon fruit lemon tea (half sugar, light ice): Refreshing and helps cut through the richness of the meal. It got pretty busy and the food is made-to-order, so don't go in a hurry. The food was amazing! We got pan fried dumplings, Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), bao buns, noodles, rice, and skewers! The only thing for me, was the shrimp skewers and fried rice wasn't as flavorful as everything else. But again, personal preference. We split it 3 ways and ended up about $35/person, but we were stuffed! The inside is a small space....so, it can't seat a whole lot of people. BUT, for being smaller-scaled establishment it didn't seem over-crowded once you're sat. And yes, you can see the dumplings being made-to-order near the restaurant dining area! Sometimes we have meals that we know will become a core memory, and I had that experience today! Not only was all of the food incredibly delicious, but the staff were so attentive and sweet. First, I had the wontons in chili oil which were great (and not too spicy for me). Then I tried both the lamb and beef skewers, which were seasoned to perfection and totally juicy. I remember the piping hot dumplings that came out after each order and the explosion of flavors that came after each bite. I love dumplings and was looking forward to trying Mingxia. I selected the sampler, which allows you to select 3 of the 4 varieties and I chose vegetable, chicken, and pork. The fourth selection was beef. I liked how they were different colors, but I had to guess which was which. They were all prepared well and were tasty. I got my order to go and was surprised by the super cute reusable bag they provided. The cashier was pleasant and I liked how you could view the food preparation area. I've been enjoying the chef's Chinese buns and dumplings for quite some time, and I've also had the chance to try her kebabs at the Memphis Dragon Boat Festivals and Asian Night Markets over the years. Everything I've tried has been amazing, but I could never find her at a permanent location. Today, I'm so excited to share that she has finally opened her own restaurant, Mingxia Dumplings, in Cordova! I visited on the first day of their soft opening, and it made me so happy to enjoy all those delicious buns and kebabs again. Even better, the restaurant now offers a wide variety of Chinese dishes, including Northeastern-style mala tang (spicy hot pot), xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), and fresh hand-pulled noodles. I just got back from a business trip to Shanghai, where I had the chance to try their famous xiaolongbao. Even compared to what I had there, I can honestly say Mingxia's version is among the best I've had. read more

The food was awful! I was excited to try this place and finally went today. I ordered the crab rangoons and the chili oil wontons. Both were horrible! The rangoons were filled with mainly whipped cream cheese--not a piece of crab in site. No other flavor other than the cream cheese. The dumplings were VERY spicy and flavorless. They were of a nice size, but mainly wrapper, and the filling was the size of the tip of my pinky finger! It tasted like a small, pinched off chunk of a soybean pattie...just awful! With every dumpling I ate, I continuously got sad that there were more in the bowl for me to eat. I buy store bought wontons that taste like restaurant quality. These are not it. The only good thing was the prices, which were very reasonable. My total was $17 and some change. I don't know what the hype was about this place, but it's a hell nah for me! And they had flies!!
